I’m guessing Mongolian is now a Star Wars canon language
It's translated into Huttese. Makes the game even more awesome with attention to detail in my eyes.
@@Mitsuhide3 Is it?
@@Mitsuhide3 @LuisMartinez @Luy22 It isn't Huttese. Read yesterday that the song was written specifically for the game. They were told to sing in any language they wanted. They chose to sing the game version in an ancient Mongol language. I want to say the name of the language is Tengri, but I'm probably getting that wrong. The version the band plays at their shows is in modern Mongolian (you can find videos on YT of them doing the song live with the Mongolian lyrics).
@@autumncolors7015 Tengri is the name of the sky deity in Mongolian and Turkic shamanism (and in Hungarian neopaganism, too!), so that's not it. The Hu probably sang this in either Middle Mongolian, which was the language Genghis Khan spoke, or in Khitan or Tuyuhun, both of which are extinct relatives of Mongolian. I'm leaning towards this being sung in Middle Mongolian, given that there's a fair bit of writing in that language that's survived to the present.
@@niall_sanderson Yeah, I know Tengri is God of the blue sky, which is why I knew I was remembering the name of the language wrong. (Learned that from the film, Mongol, though, not from The HU). : ) Thanks for the additional historical info. I've always found it fascinating how languages were created for Star Wars, and adopting an ancient already-existing language sung by a band I love is a wonderful addition to canon.

perfect song for a sith like maul.
Maxx Us no maul keeps duel of fates
Such a perfect song opening the encapsulates Cal’s current life on Bracca. The heavy bass and steady beat give the song a militant, oppressive feel, how Cal has been repressed by the empire. Mongolian is a relatively unknown language which adds an alien feel. And the throaty vocals add a sense of roughness and hints at the danger in a scrapping job like this. Pair in a bunch of electric strings layered on for claustrophobic depth, you’ve got the perfect song.
Also it feels industrial af

From everything I've gathered, in this song The HU is singing in a made-up language they came up with for this song, inspired by the canon Huttese.
That said; of course every fiber of this song is oozing their signature Mongolian style of throat-singing and played with traditional Mongolian instruments, in the style of all their other songs. And as someone from Europe and unfamiliar with steppes culture, even their regular Mongolian songs are so foreign to me, they might as well be from alien galaxy.
