- Here i show how simple it is to convert a Hornby 3 Car DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) from DC to DCC.
In this conversion i will be installing an LaisDCC 8 pin, 4 function DCC decoder supplied by The Loco Shed
Full details including CV listings & user manual for the decoder installed are available at - www.thelocoshedmcr.co.uk/

Thank you so much for explaining how to do this DCC conversion. I now understand where each wire goes. My DCC Class 110 will be running at LAST. Thank you. Richard.
Enjoyed your tutorial. I have eight heritage Hornby locos from the eighties, so I might give the DCC task a go.
Conversion guides for the Class 110 are very rare. Someone on my forum was looking for one. The one I had had lost it's photos. Thanks for posting. :-)
Great how to video , will come in handy for some one ......Peter
Brilliant Class 110 Calder Valley units. These should be retooled by Bachman with Dcc and lighting.
Very nice "how to". If you have not used them so far have a go at using the 8PIN Socket, which I feel is very useful if I have issues with a decoder at a later date, especially if I install directional, cab or coach lighting. If you are going to install coach lighting at a later date try connecting all 3 together using twin micro plug and socket with 0.05mm wireing. Add extra pickups and a stay alive circuitry...Simon
a brill video understood everything great :0)
Good informative video mate, just decided to dcc all my locos as i renovate them. Do you use Lenz all the time...minefiled trying to decide what decoder to buy.
Video helped a lot however I'm having trouble.
Great video. But your links don't seem to work
Hi again, just realized the decoder is a 2 function decoder, which limets you to what you can do it you want cab, coach and directional lighting, or is it 4 function?...Simon
New To DCC - Noticed You Mentioned How The Power Lines Going In Must Be On The Correct Track ? My Question Is If You Then By Accident Put It On A Track Incorrectly (Wrong Way Round) What Happens ? - Does It Still Work, Fry The Controller, No Control Ect ?.. I Know With DC Tracks The Direction Would Just Be Reversed ? Many Thanks For The Video As Looking To Update To A DCC System
Is it a class 110
Thanks, but a 5 min video might also have worked.............
