So the logic is, "i will not accept asgardian healing tech to prove humans are strong" but she will wield asgardian weapons and be an asgardian god..............
I think that Jane-Thor is an interesting character, although I hate the fact that she's too stubborn to accept medical treatment for her cancer (which is something even more unrealistic than Norse gods flying through space on longboats).
Vanitas Actually, she does go for chemo therapy. She just doesn't accept a magical cure, probably because she feels it is a cop out. And it certainly isn't fair that she can just magic away her cancer when so many other people can't. I think that her fighting cancer like a human keeps her connected to her humanity, and shows her what true bravery means. I think that aspect of her character is what makes her so interesting.
I probably didn't explain myself well enough, but what I'm trying to say is that no real cancer patient would ever refuse a guaranteed cure like the Asgardian one. Her decision doesn't display her bravery, but her stubborness, because she's put herself in a situation where she keeps suffering and is also at risk of dying for no valid reason whatsoever.
The fact that other humans wouldn't have access to the cure isn't an acceptable justification either: anyone in their right mind would ask the Asgardians to share it with Earth, because it would save tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of people all over the world.
Gotta agree with a Vanitas about the irrational stubbornness. This despite the fact that I like Jane Foster Thor. And I like her despite the fact that I'm Glad she's going to die and go away.
Like, wouldn't it have been more interesting if Jane wanted to share the cure with earth but asgard was super anal about it. So Jane doesn't take the cure until asgard agrees to share the technology because she couldn't take a cure for a disease millions of people have and not try to share it.
I am honestly fine with Jane Thor, as far as current marvel comics go, it’s fairly decent for the most part.
Just not a fan of marvel’s treatment towards odinson as a result.

I love you channel !! I grew up collecting & reading many great comics, but sadly I just cant afford to buy all the ones I want with prices so high at point in my life. I still try to pick up a few here & there, but its just not the same. Thor was always one of my favorites, & I loved how they took some of my favorite stories from runs back in the 80s to make the recent movie, especially with the Hulk who is another one of my favorites. Sorry for rambling, what I really wanted to say is this...Since I am not able to purchase & read all the comics I want at this point in my life, I Truly Appreciate this channel & the great work You do. The way You read all these great stories really brings them to life. Keep up the good work, it really means a lot to me!!! Long Live The Comicstorian !!!!!!!!!
Hey I'm trying to create a superhero. His identity is Dante Jones.
Ethnicity/race: Black/African American
Personality: Passionate but serious for missions.
Abilities/Powers:Ultra sonic roar( not like Black Canary's. This one is just really really loud. Master Freerunner, Acrobat, has tiger spliced DNA which gives him fangs, claws, agility, speed, enhanced senses. Master martial artist, hand-to-hand
Weapons: Razor disks that can ricochet and return to him, enchanted claws that are sharp enough to tear through diamond, a javelin that detached at the grips to form two pointed batons he uses like swords. Grapnel wrist guns.
Traits: Tracker, quick minded and very clever, martial artist. Very stealthy not making a sound when he walks.
Weaknesses: His attitude and willpower. If an enemy gets him to get his emotions out of control(mad, sad, broken) he loses his durability. Plus if he gets to mad he'll go on an uncontrollable rampage.
Backstory: Dante Jones was hungry for adventure and when he was 10 he wanted to be a gymnast so he started his training. Then 2 years later he saw some people running on the rooftops of buildings in his hometown Chicago, Illinois and he asked his friend Josiah King what they were doing. He answered him, "free running and parkour, and y'know it could be good training for your Olympic dream." So from now on after school Dante would join the free runners on the roof and running from the police. He did this for two years. He started to enjoy the feel of flipping on rooftops and being chased by the police, so one day he started running faster so that made the cop that was chasing him go faster. The cop was no match for his speed and agility and Dante saw this and he felt sorry so he decided he should probably stop and turn himself in and then the officer tripped on the edge of a parking garage roof and then she fell to her death. Dante looked in horror as he saw that the cop was his best friend Josiah's mother that just died because of him. He screamed for help but when the authorities came, he was nowhere to be seen. This will always haunt his conscience forever.
Two years later Dante, his parents, and Josiah went on a safari vacation in Africa when one night Dante was kidnapped by a tribe of tiger worshippers and the chief says that the guardian Tiger that served the tribe since it began. This tiger was of magic origin. He was large, strong, fast and his soul was so strong and breakable that his bones were as well. The reason it was dying was because its will was shattered by hunters that killed half the village. The hunters then bombarded the tiger with bullets. Enraged, the rest of the villages then killed most of the hunters and the rest were scared off. So the chief could've dream of the tribe without their messiah. So when it died the chief cut out its heart, to center of his soul, and squeezed the blood down Dante's throat. Then when his family found them his father was killed with an arrow to the neck and his mother was paralyzed by an arrow through her spine. When he saw this Dante was furious, he was angry, and he wanted to kill the chief. Dante eyes were yellow like the sunset, he grew claws and fangs, and even a tail. He ran and tackled the chief at superhuman speed before anyone could react. He raised his hand ready to slash his throat, then he sees Josiah's mother. He remembered her death was because of him. So he spared the chief and vowed that no more lives will be lost because of him. But he didn't realize that the tiger survived this long was because it didn't age physically. Its body was so strong that time didn't effect it. So Dante didn't realize look 16 for a long time. His mother was unfit to raise him and Josiah was missing so he set out for Gotham to meet the Batman.
So there's the hero I'm trying to make. I think his code name will be Primal, the messiah of souls.
Oh and the costume is black with yellow highlights. With a black hood with yellow on the inside. Black eye mask with white eye covers. Yellow utility belt with two black coattails with yellow interior which can slow down his falling. Gray armor pads on the shoulders, elbows, and wrists. Wrists grapnel guns. A mouth mask around the neck he wears for cold missions and has air filters. With some nice boots to top it off.
He gets this from Batman who trains him. He meets Cassandra Cain after watching her dance and he secretly is attracted to her. And Tim Drake who was very friendly asked him if he would like a spot on the Titans and he said sure. This is wear he met Rose Wilson, his best friend.
Hope you guys enjoy this character and maybe you'll see him in DC sometime soon. Maybe he could use another name or weakness. Any suggestions?

I've never been a huge fan of Jane's Thor (Not because she's a woman or anything like that) but because the stories have always been a wee bit lackluster in my opinion. But i can honestly say i actually enjoyed this one and i'm looking forward to more.

Depends on the writer, Jason Aaron has written Thor for years, from Odinson to Female Thor and supposedly after Female Thor

In case you're doubting Jane Foster will die, there's concept art for the cover of Conan the Barbarian (which comes out next year) that has Thor Odinson (with his hammer and classic outfit) and the original Wolverine next to Conan.
BTW, both Marvel and DC now owns the rights to the character of Conan the Barbarian (because comics, I guess...)

I have no problem with anyone getting suped-up by Mjolner, getting "the power of Thor." What I DO have a problem with is that person somehow getting renamed "Thor." Even with the power of Thor (using Mjolner), she should have just been called "Jane." You know, for the same reason Thor was called "Thor." Because that IS his name. Thor Odinson is not an alter ego, it is HIM with "the power of Thor", suped-up by Mjolner in other words. 80s Thor was an alter ego because his normal form is his secret real identity and his suped-up Mjolner form was his "costumed hero." Well, great video Comicstorian. Your voice and personality make for a wonderful storyteller.

Perhaps, and I know this may be something to hard to grasp, the people making those complaints... maybe... aren't the same people? Also, progressing a character's development and booting them out of their own story for someone else isn't the same as just "doing something new with the story".

Finally!!!! Although for once I enjoyed a Jane foster story. Would love to see more of Quentin Quire as the new phoenix. Also why was the phoenix force female? Is it an implication towards Jean Grey?
From what I remember, Jean was the _first time_ the phoenix force ever took on a human avatar and emotion, so it could be a reference to that... though I think they retconned that earlier in Jane's run with Odin having had an affair with the Phoenix force at one point.
A lot of people hate her, but you got to admit that her design is badass.

This story was great! I always liked the characters and worlds around Thor, but I never liked Thor himself. Making Jane Thor was a great idea. I'm dreading the day they make Odinson Thor again.

Man I love everything Thor since the whole God Butcher arc. Made me care about characters I never really thought twice about before! That and war Thor is just killer! Marvels pooched it a bit with some of their character revitalization but I’m loving Venom, Thor and war machine punisher is metal as hell (story is meh thus far, imo, but concept is rad!)

What I am wondering is why the Asgardians are so underpowered compared to everyone else imo people like Thor and Heimdall should be able to take Gladiator (Thor easily Heimdall with a fight) but I am wrong apparently.

yes it is a good place. but the best place right now is to read all of dc rebirth and from there pick the books you like and follow them. than you should go back and read thor god butcher, thor Ragnarök, world war hulk, than you go back and read infinity war. avoid ANAD marvel at all cost. ignore all of marvel from 2015-2018 unless otherwise noted. you will also want old man logan. and between all of this i hope you find something you like'
and never hestate to look into something if it even slightly intrest you

lucariomew358/2 how was the phoenix nerfed? Mischaracterized perhaps ( although most of the time its characterization is based on its host so...) but not nerfed
R MCX The Phoenix's personality isn't based on the host. By itself, the Phoenix has always maintained its composure, even when inciting destruction. It's usually from the perspective of others that it comes off as wrathful. If and when she is in possession of a host who goes Dark Pf, then that's another story - though, until it is retconned, Jean was the first host to effect the PF on a profoundly emotional level (or first DP in the multiverse). The true Phoenix is/was always deprecated as dedicated to it's work, held compassion for all life, but also had a mutual understanding and kinship with Death. So for it to be so bitter because Jane wouldn't hand over mjolnir is completely out of character. Also in the story, Jane even asked Thor about when he and the PF were a couple. Like wtf? Aaron is even retconning it's history by having past host into become a lover of Odin- meaning she banged both Thor and Odin. Like no one asked for that!
As for how it's been nerfed, on the psychic plane, Jane Foster resisted the Phoenix Force. The true Nexus of All Psionic Energy in the past, present, and (possible) future(s), who is above the freaking mind gem in power, was beaten by Jane's force of will. And that's after acting so catty to her.
