Hey John...I've been binge watching your videos lately...have you ever considered, for your improvement and enjoyment of the game, going to the 6000 yard tees (I am assuming would be equivalent to the white tees) and once your game improves move back to 6400 yards (equivalent to the blue tees - It seems like that's a normal yardage you play based on your intros)...it seems like you hit A LOT of 3 woods into Par 4's (even after a good drive) which I know from experience gets old real quick...once you start shooting better scores consistently, then move back to those tees...I know you may say if your chipping and putting were better, the scores would be better...while true, if you're hitting irons into greens instead of 3 wood, it would help your accuracy and your confidence...I know at points you ask for "swing advice" which I hesitate giving since all our swings are different but I was in your situation at one time and that's what I did and it helped me...now I play around 6400 yards and I hit the ball much better too...
John even through 1: PGA Tour here I come! Literally next hole: Blow up hole MAD respect to you for not cutting out the bad shots, that’s what makes your channel. Keep up the good work man 💪🏻💪🏻
Fat Guy Golf I know, last season I went from shooting high 90s to now regular low 80s, got @golf sidekick to thank since my problem was that I just whacked the ball and moved on. Learned that you apparently get better by practicing and thinking through your shots 😅. But like everyone else says, we can really see that your game has improved a lot over the last year, really enjoying your videos from Sweden 👍🏻
That’s a heck of a second shot on #7! Great video and appreciate you coming out to Mallard Creek today for a round. Hope we will have you back again soon, Baker!
Awesome to see you step up those last two holes and hit your goal big guy! Video idea... Once the range is open again it would be cool to see you practice hitting different shots. "Ok I'm gonna hit this driver straight, then draw then fade" 10 pw in a row challenge to hit the 100 yd "green" fun little things to help your confidence on the course. Putting looks good!! When you are confident like those last two holes these vlogs are getting really satisfying to watch. Keep up the good work!
I've only been watching the channel for a couple weeks, but I definitely see an improvement in your game. The long putting is looking pretty solid and that's clutch. If you have that confidence in your putter, it really starts to free up the chipping and pitching. Love the channel man, keep it up.
The main thing about short game is feel. You have to have a feel for the green speed and a feel for the greens hardness or softness. Also one thing that I see people do when the are chipping or pitching is that take way to big of a back swing and they slow their swing down on the way down and either top the ball or chunk it or blade it. Try taking a smaller backswing on chips and pitches and make sure you keep your head down and follow through with your shot. Don’t slow your swing down in the down swing or speed it up. Smooth steady chip and pitch shots. You don’t have to make every pitch and every chip just get it close enough you can make a putt.
So jealous.....our gov here in Michigan wont give us a clear answer on if we can golf or not.... However I did notice something that might not have been pointed out to you. Your balance is off on the hits/hooks to the left. I’m no expert but I’ve been told and it helps for us big guy an to try and put more weight on the balls of our feet almost like we’re leaning more forward over the ball. This has helped me big time. Stay safe my friend!!!
John, buddy.... I'm addicted to your videos so I find myself checking for your next 9 holes a few times a day, and this is knowing that I have the alerts on....
Bogey golf! That's a phenomenal improvement!! Way to go John, keep up the great work. BTW - make yourself do the extra little bit of work, by walking around up to the green on some of the pitches and walk around the green to get good reads all the time.
Two clutch pars on the last two holes. Practice your short game at home and you could be shooting low 40s easily. I love your channel John, good luck in the future!
Big guy! Started off the first 9 great, but the solution to your fairway accuracy is to reduce power and focus more on your swing technique. Master that, then increase power again, and you be getting more birdies and pars!
Keep coming with these. Love these over the other nonsensical golf vlogs, with their "dudes", "let's go" and other various nonsense like playing with one club or left handed.
Great round big guy! Try and get the upper body to move with the hips on the drive. The upper body is beating the hips to the ball. Think about a baseball field and swing to the second basemen. Your hands will naturally turn over. Great job and best of luck! It’s in the doughnut! Maybe your next t-shirt!?
John, last year I was in the same boat with my game. Watch Golf Sidekick videos, it changed my thought process and I even shot an 80 twice at the end of the summer.
John, I have been a fan of yours since the beginning. You are improving every round. Would like to play a round with you since I don't live all that far from ya. Have you ever played any courses in my neck of the woods such as Yankee Run, Salem Hills,Flying Bee, Riverview. One of my fav. courses is Sable Creek & 7 Hills in Hartville. Keep on improving pal. You will be shooting in the 80's soon.
4 pars out of 9 nice! I know I'm not telling you anything you don't already know but get those other 5 down to bogeys and that score card will look nice. Good work
I shot a 92 yesterday on a round after 9 holes I thought I was gonna break 90. But then my short game fell apart on 1 hole I got a triple bogey after being green side for my 3rd shot on a par 4. Dats not good!
I've experienced this in my game before so try to hear me out... You've gained a lot of muscle so you want to crush the ball, but that speeds up your tempo and forces the hooks. Slow it down, a nice relaxed swing will yield straighter shots with a surprising amount of distance. Keep it up John, love the videos. also stay safe out there!
Meech Golfs winter yes, but we switched to spring setup a week or so ago. With the recent events and doing the most to be proactive, we figured the shorter flags apply the “no touch” rule a lot more effectively.
Hey Jon, if you do see this comment then awesome but what I was going to talk about is course expectations. What I would recommend is this: hit every par 3 green in two shots or less, every par 4 green in three shots or less, and every par 5 green in 4 shots or less. If you can putt 36 times and follow the requirements above, you should find a score under 90! I know it sounds easier than done, but on a 400 yard hole you could hit 5 iron, 5 iron, and your 100 yard club if the driver and woods aren’t working.
Big fan of your channel. We hope to see a hole-in-one sometime in the future What app/software do you use for uploading these videos? (Score, hole, approach, etc.)
@@FatGuyGolf Ah okay that's nice! I'm taking a day off from golf today, been playing many rounds on my off week (s) from school and I've been spending part of it watching your vlogs!
Hey John, I'm gonna ask you for a favor and that is to play more golf during these crazy covid-19 times. Enjoying the vids and waiting to see your latest back 9.
damn this course looks very simple. I think I’d shoot a only a few over on here for sure. I normally play on a slope of 145 where I live as there is many difficult courses near me
Ready for part 2....
that low hook 3 wood so outstanding. saw some good golf shots.
Great video John! You played well minus a couple of holes but no worries...can't wait to see you play the back 9! You got this!

Glad the Vlogs are back! 👍

That 9th hole was perfect. Your mental game on the 9th hole and taking time for your putts I think really shows with those makes.

swing is looking great big guy!
John I’m sure you’ve heard of this, but whenever I’m on the fringe of the green or even 5-10yards off, I’ll chip with a 7 iron. Works wonders for me.

Scored fairly well today. Just need to keep those triples to singles and doubles and it will really clean up.
