The only people people who were affected by the culling game are those marked by kenjaku or those who manifested curse techniques when they colonies spawned. If you werent in a colony area when it formed you were pretty much fine and if you were in it when it formed and didnt have a technique like yuji's classmate you could opt to not participate and leave safely.

She was a one-off character to show Yuji’s good character. Gege mentioned that the only reason he even created her is because his editor told him to 😭 I doubt we’ll see her again.
If Yuji would die than it is sad to meet with her, probably she did not know what happened to yuji, its the last moment they were happy and so we were 💔
What i find beautiful is he complimented her on her positive parts and unintentionally made her look at herself in a better light. She didn't have to lose weight but she chose to make herself look her bust just for him and him alone
Btw Kugisaki said something about “real life Sato Kuroko”, well, Sato Kuroko is a yuyuhakusho character known for being the first generation spirit detective(what the protagonist does) and she actually gets a lot skinnier as a result of being a spirit detective so she’s referencing her
You can tell Gege really did not care for this little arc or yuko at all. At this moment, I think it only shows how close the trio is, how Gege wants them to be platonic, to show how kind Yuji is and may hint at his cursed technique and this is interpretation but how someone like ozawa can contribute to curses for something she can't control. Other than that Ozawa is entirely ignored so we just don't know what happend to her and it's not like her and yuji exchange numbers either he just says "see ya later" which leads to nothing but speculation. After hearing differing opinions, I think the best answer as to why Ozawa didn't ask Yuji for his number or called her back is because she doesn't feel like she's changed because she based her self worth on the outlook of other people that she internalized and wasn't ready to confess to yuji because of this. I'm guessing she's on her own journey if self discovery of who she is and loves. I still think it's a shame we couldn't see any of it or mention by the end of the series.
