    Thanks for watching! I'm launching a new travel vlog every week, so stay tuned. Travel Lord On Location is a new channel, so please SUBSCRIBE and turn on NOTIFICATIONS if you enjoy my content and want to see my travel adventures.
    About this Eskişehir vlog:
    After a lot of fans told me to visit Eskişehir, I traveled down to take a look. This Turkish city is stunningly beautiful. Even on a mostly overcast day, I could tell that it was one of the hidden gems of Turkey. In this Turkish vlog, we do some Eskişehir sightseeing and see:
    - Odunpazarı
    - Odunpazari Modern Museum (OMM)
    - OMM Inn
    - Kurşunlu Mosque and Complex
    - Kurşunlu Mosque Handicraft Gallery
    - Kurşunlu Mosque Meerschaum Gallery
    - Sazova Park
    - Fairytale Castle
    - Porsuk River
    - Vural Sokak
    I also tasted the delicious Eskişehir cuisine. I loved having Çibörek and Çay in Odunpazarı. I had to save some room for dinner and got the famous local Eskişehir food, Balaban Kebab. Both were extremely delicious.
    About Eskişehir tourism:
    Eskişehir, a vibrant city in northwestern Turkey, offers a unique blend of historical charm and contemporary culture, making it an increasingly popular tourist destination. Known for its young and dynamic population, largely due to Anadolu University, the city buzzes with artistic and educational energy. Tourists are drawn to the enchanting Odunpazarı district, a historical area with beautifully restored Ottoman houses, now housing an array of charming cafes, craft shops, and museums, including the remarkable Eskişehir Modern Glass Art Museum.
    The Porsuk River, flowing through the city, adds to its picturesque beauty. Visitors enjoy leisurely boat tours, offering a different perspective of the city’s landscape. The riverbanks are perfect for evening strolls, lined with bustling restaurants and bars, creating a lively atmosphere.
    Another highlight is Sazova Park, a wonderland for both children and adults, featuring a science center, fairy tale castle, and pirate ship. Eskişehir also serves as a gateway to nearby archaeological sites, like the ancient Phrygian Valley, making it a perfect blend of urban and historical exploration. This combination of historical allure, cultural vibrancy, and modern amenities makes Eskişehir a must-visit destination in Turkey.
    About the Turkish cuisine in Eskişehir:
    Eskişehir, a culinary gem in Turkey, offers a delightful blend of traditional and modern flavors. The city's cuisine is renowned for its unique specialties. One must-try is "çibörek," a crispy, deep-fried pastry filled with seasoned minced meat, a Tatar influence reflecting the city's multicultural heritage. Another local favorite is "balaban kebab," succulent meat grilled on a skewer, wrapped in lavash bread, and drenched in a tangy yogurt sauce. Vegetarians can relish "met helvası," a sweet dessert made from semolina, sugar, and pine nuts. The city's vibrant student population has also introduced a variety of international cuisines, ensuring that Eskişehir's food scene caters to all tastes, making it a paradise for food enthusiasts.

    Eskişehir used to be dirty, muddy, ugly, and depressing. It is a great example of how a mayor can transform a city from an ugly one to the city it is now. We do need to acknowledge Yılmaz Büyükerşen here. He was the Dean at Anadolu University for many years. He later became the mayor of this city and basically changed it into a safe, upbeat, artistic, and a livable city. Thanks for visiting.

    It was very nice to see through your eyes the city where I was born and lived, which I have not seen for 20 years. Thanks for going there.
    Eskişehir is a place where young people live, mostly university students, so it is very quiet during the hours when schools are open. It is usally lively on weekends and summer holidays.
    it was a very nice promotional video. But I wish you could also go to the area where the Phrygians' temple is located. ''Yazılıkaya'' was half an hour away from Eskişehir.

    it is great to see that you are paying attention to pronunciation of Turkish words.
    I am sure somebody below mentioned it but "borek" is the generalized name for a type of pastry usually made by layering thin dough in one way or the other. One loose analogy I can give is "soup" . A fish soup and a lentil soup are both soups.

Lentil pastry is also sold everywhere. There is a historical small meatball restaurant on a street in the central bazaar, you walked in, iti is Tatlıdil köftecisi.

    Hey man, love your videos! Safranbolu in Karabük and Mudurnu & Göynük in Bolu have similar old town vibes to Odunpazarı, with more green (although they are probably more white than green now 😆) There is also the Yedigöller National Park in Bolu which is absolutely stunning though it is not a great time to visit right now due to weather. If you ever think about going a little further east I recommend checking out Amasya and Ordu, which I believe are charming cities. Even further east, you can go to Rize and Artvin if you want to immerse yourself in beautiful nature. Just stay away from Trabzon, the people there are weird 🤣 Enjoy your travels!

If you are still in Turkey, I would like to give you a new city suggestion, this city's name is Sinop. You can do research about Sinop. Sinop will attract everyone's attention. It is a cute city in the Central Black Sea region. And it is a coastal city with a lot of historical texture. I hope you take me carefully

    man, if I ever go to Eskisehir I am going to pull up your video beforehand to tour it the way you did. Since it was so empty for most of the video I was wondering what time you starting walking around town? (you mentioned the rain/drizzle perhaps being why folks arent out and about but I dont think you mentioned the time of day). When I was in Ankara the city was totally dead before 11 am on saturdays. I'd walk out at something like 7 am and there'd only be a kiosk selling newspapers and bread that would be open. I'd walk around most of the city for hours before it starting waking up----But you said it was a weekday so I am totally confused. The purple bridge and gold statue and that fairytale castle also confused me!

    • @TravelLordOnLoc
      @TravelLordOnLoc  8 місяців тому

      I just had one full day so I started pretty early to make sure I could see as much as possible. I think I went out around 9am but it was raining so maybe started at 10am. It was a Wednesday also so I think it would be a lot more exciting on a Saturday or Sunday. The nightlife was fun also. I went around the city center the night before. I think you’ll have a fun time whenever you go!

    • @TravelLordOnLoc
      @TravelLordOnLoc  6 місяців тому +1

      Thanks! It really depends. I usually have an idea of what I want to see and plan it out. When I arrive there are also usually some places I find out about or discover that I wasn’t expecting. I do some research online and try to check a few sources to make sure information matches up. Depending on the city, some tourist information centers have given me guide books with a lot of facts and some sites have the historical information on plaques near the sites. Some things I learn from locals too.
