Please check your pronunciation of Valois. The way it was said in this video is completely wrong. It is pronounced like vuh-lōys. People on the south side who live in that community do not pronounce it that way.
As a Chicagoan, I’m glad that you let Chicago stand on its own, rather than comparing it to New York. Both are great cities, each unique relative to the other.
Ikr thank god. I've never understood why people compare the two. They are world's apart in vibe and that's honestly a blessing. Two completely different experiences and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love NYC as it as, and I love Chicago as it is. Wouldn't change either for the world. And people say america don't got culture. How ignorant.
Chicago is a lot more conservative than NYC or San Fransisco, people think we're liberal just because we always vote Democrat yet we have by far the lowest amount of strip clubs per capita of any city in the world and people freak out like you wouldn't believe if they see you acting eccentric in public, especially in the yuppy areas and the ghettos are just strait up dangerous, it's either conservative or dangerous, it's weird!

Ohhhh I’m happy Luis didn’t take you to the same tired spots you tubers seem to go to all the time when coming to Chicago! Starting out in Hyde Park then heading to Pilsen’s Mexican heart then off to what’s left of Little Italy and getting tavern pizza and going to the Old Town Ale House...Luis did well! I know it was a short time but our Desi Corridor (Little India/Pakistan:Bangladesh) in the north side transports you to South Asia and the food is incredible. Greektown is still holding, the west side and Fulton Market are the new “It” spots, Logan Square and Wicker Park are always great and our Chinatown has been evolving throughout the years! As well as neighbouring La Villita which is the larger Mexican corridor next to Pilsen! Cheers and I hope you come more often! It’s a great city! One of my favourites along w NYC and Boston!
This is probably one of my favorite Chicago videos I have seen on youtube. You covered other areas than the stereotypical spots and highlighted the tavern style is the true pizza that most Chicagoans eat.

I think only a few of them have walkways but there are a lot of subterranean Access aside streets for skyscraper condo parking that is out of the weather. I'm not sure how to describe it really, you'll just have to come and see it for yourself haha.
Everyone in Chicago knows that the Antoltonilco on 26th street is 100X’s better than the one in Pilsen. You highlight Pilsen but skip the oldest coffeehouse in the neighborhood. The Jumping Bean. The best tavern style pizza is Vito & Nick’s. You totally missed Manny’s on Clinton. The Who’s who in Chicago have gone there for decades. This vid is a total miss!
So I am a born and raised in Chicago and living in Brooklyn and I am so happy that you went to Pats that is my favorite Chicago style thin crust pizza place! This video is on point and I am embarrassed to say that I have never been to the Italian beef place that you went to the next time that I go back to Chicago I will be going there.
Had a great time when I visited Chicago. Had the hot dog and the deep dish pizza. Had a great time running along the lake, one of the nicest places to run around. The weather is basically like they had, you can never really guess but its a super cool place.

Chicago is not the only city in the US with elevated subway lines in it's downtown. Miami's train system is also aboveground not only downtown but the entire system is. Chicago is an amazing city! Can't wait to visit again! I live in NYC but I find Chicago is much cleaner and more interesting than NYC not to mention friendlier people in Chicago too, compared to New Yorkers
I aint trying to start a debate, but.....Atotonilco? That's like taking him to Los Comales. Nothing wrong (I've eaten at both places countless of times in the past); I would have taken you to Pacos Tacos instead though 🤙🏽 All tacos aside....glad you enjoyed your trip to Chicago! 😊

Next visit you must visit Johnnie’s on North Ave for the BEST Italian beef. Another required stop is to Freddy’s on 16th & Lombard, a mom and pop Italian corner store and deli. Chicago also has a Viet Town on Argyle and a Chinatown on Cermak, both with many great restaurants.

I have to say that Chicago is a city you're always gonna go back to after visiting it once. In 2019, I've been there three times just for weekend trips. So bad that the pandemic happened, otherwise, I would've gone there in 2020 and 2021.

Nice, I’m from the Northside and hang out around Lincoln Park a lot. Next time you should visit Logan Square, about 10-15 minutes away. Nice boulevards, gray stones and restaurants/bars. I also only eat deep dish when people from out-of-town are here. 😃 Most people I know eat thin crust 90-95% of the time. The whole Chicago is dangerous thing also drives me insane. Haha When I was in NY, a lot of people seemed to think the whole city is a war zone, but like he said… it’s mainly pockets of the city. Although, of course, ideally it would be nowhere. Fun to see neighborhoods on the south side. I’ve been to all of them, but being from the Northside, I don’t often make my way down there. Feels far. I wish we had a more authentic feeling Little Italy! Amusing how all of this was mentioned in the video!

It was 52 F / 11 C last night here in Chicago. We do have central heating in our apartment but its not on currently and we do not have the control so had to crank up our space heaters.
I've taken the people mover when I was in Detroit. Very cool view of the great lakes. Like a train ride view of an "ocean" I like the city center old architecture and there's a suspended bridge like here in NY that goes to Canada.

It was still snowing in Chicago last April. It’s warm in June and July and that’s it! Starts to get chilly again in August.

Their El is really cool, I like it better than NYC subway El. NYC use to have elevated trains in Manhattan but most were taken down.

It was 52 F / 11 C last night here in Chicago. We do have central heating in our apartment but its not on currently and we do not have the control so had to crank up our space heaters.

Not to the extent of Chicago but Detroit has the people mover. It's an elevated train that takes ya through town.
I've taken the people mover when I was in Detroit. Very cool view of the great lakes. Like a train ride view of an "ocean" I like the city center old architecture and there's a suspended bridge like here in NY that goes to Canada.

Dont tell people to try Malort, that stuff is terrible haha. Have to have a drink at Marge's Still as well in Old town.
