My fave is definitely Cloud and Aerith, their natural chemistry since they met, the wall market storyline etc solidifies how much they mean to each other...you can definitely see Cloud has fallen for her by the look on his face when she tells him he cant fall in love with her, and his reply about if he doesnt get a say in it... Aerith opened him up and made him drop his macho exterior..and calls him out whenever he tries to play that role...she sees through him... Its why their dynamic is so good... They compliment each other perfectly... Rebirth is going to be intense... Intermission is a quick fun experience that will carry over to Rebirth very well

Aerith's scene is much more understandable for people who played FFVII OG and the work's sequels. Many people cried when they saw this scene. So those who don't know the story yet can feel the romanticism and chemistry between the two, with Cloud dreaming of an Aerith from the future communicating with him, however, this scene is ahead of its time. It's confusing for those who haven't played the entire game, we need to remember that the next part isn't the last part of the story, so this scene is just a precursor to what's to come. It is deep, very deep.
You honestly cannot go wrong with the scene you get (Esp Tifa and Aerith). Both fit the story so well. Tifa`s scene focuses on the tragedy of the plate fall and the lives lost, while Aerith`s scene is more hopeful and sets her up as an Ancient. - Square really delivered with these scenes
I got Aerith's and obviously like her scene the most. Barret's resolution shows two buddies being more open with each other, talking about friends and beliefs and expressing hope in the future and reuniting with their loved ones given the grim situation. Tifa's resolution is good too but it comes so intentionally awkward. First she feels the need to bring up Aerith in a moment that should be just hers and Cloud's (this is a recurrent theme throughout Remake and Rebirth, same with when she also brings her up when you wake her up first in the sewers), which already makes the conversation feel uncomfortable. He lets her rant about her struggle with the loss of her home without saying a word, then she goes to Cloud and starts crying her eyes out on his chest and he takes literally half a minute to reciprocate the hug after having no idea how to react in the first place. He is completely emotionally absent at the moment, as if his mind is somewhere else (the camera literally pans away to the Shinra building), therefore eventually ends up hugging her too tight and hurting her because he's not paying attention. The whole scene just shows emotional disconnection. Compared to the scene with Aerith, he talks with a much softer voice, expressing at least preoccupation. He actually engages in the conversation (he literally has 4 lines in Tifa's) and is responsive to what Aerith is saying. When she tries to tease him about him worrying about her to tone down the already gloomy situation, he instead remains serious responds with blunt sincerity, which catches her off guard since she knows he cares about her, but doesn't expect him to answer so honestly. When she finally tells him not to fall in love with her, he is visibly hurt, and (also in contrast with Tifa's hug) when she caresses his cheek with her hand and then lets go he immediately tries to grab it, again expressing frustration upon not being able to touch her physically. He then asks her "do I get a say in all this?" in a slightly bothered tone, as if he is hurt that she's trying to ignore his feelings, almost discarding them (there is a reason for this but you said you didn't want spoilers). And when she says it's time to go, he says "I'm coming for you". Before this scene, Barret, Tifa and Elmyra were trying to discourage Cloud from pursuing Aerith (for various and acceptable reasons, but anyways). However, he is already resoluted to go rescue her, even if he has to go alone. He doesn't say "we're coming for you", he says it in singular. And in Japanese (he says "mukae ni iku"), it's debatable that the way he says it has a romantic connotation. Apart from this, it's the only scene out of the three that carries on to the main story, with Cloud telling Elmyra how he can feel Aerith calling out to him. The three scenes are good, it's just that they represent completely different themes. Barret's scene represents faith, Tifa's scene represents loss, and Aerith's scene represents love. The three are brilliantly executed to depict their respective themes, but my clear favorite is Aerith's. It's so beautiful, delicate and ethereal... it just holds so much meaning to me.
Each scene has something to say about cloud's his relationship with each and the respective people themselves. Barrett and cloud have a developing comradery relationship. Barrett didn't trust cloud when they met. Cloud likewise was put off by Barrett's dismissal and rarely could take Barrett's jokes of him with humor. The two begin developing a mutual respect as they battle shinra. Barrett no longer views cloud as a jackass, but as someone he can spill his worries too. cloud likewise shows some interest in hearing barrett out. cloud isn't going to do the same, but you can tell he does care for barrett in a subtle way by simply staying here, listening, responding, and asking if barrett can sleep better. Also, Barrett simply talking shows how much of active, loudmouth he is-lovable guy who isn't exactly this badass i think people who just look at his appearance. Tifa and cloud bond over their shared sadness of their home being destroyed by shinra. This shows that they have a deeper history than the others do. Tifa Lockheart shows her emotions in a way she rarely does, and breaks down for a moment. Cloud is unprepared for this and he cant think of a good response so...he copies barrett's previous comfort of Tifa. He hugs her too tight, but he apologizes and tells her its ok to cry. Its a far cry from the cloud we saw early in the game. Cloud is sowing a deeper side to him by trying to comfort tifa but also his socially awkward side. Aerith's scene is the more mysterious one. aerith seems to know certain things are suppose to happen. She asks cloud not to fall in love with him, but why? It is also clear, she easily flusters cloud but it works on him. He is opening up to her in a way he cant yet do with say tifa. Cloud continues to show off his awkward side by asking her a dumb question, but aeirth gently teases him. Cloud, when presented with the request not to fall in love with her, does not like this demand. He wants a choice. He reaffirms his commitment to help her even if its romantic or not. Aerith seems...sad, she is grateful she met him-notice how she seems to infer she has known him for a while even though they only met a few days ago.

FF7 Remake does a great job showcasing the journey Cloud makes in learning how to be there for his friends. He starts the game as such a hard-ass, but by the time of this scene, he’s begun to actually reach out to his partners in an attempt to comfort them. The progress he makes as a person and a character feels really natural.
Aeriths scene is by far my favorite. But I prefer aerith over tifa too. The 2nd game has some options scenes like this too. Don't forget if/when you beat it to watch all of those too. I'm pumped for you to check out intermission. That game is short but hits so hard.

I grew up with the original and played it the day it came out in 1997. These characters have held a special place in my heart for almost 30 years. You best believe when the remake finally came out, my ass was in tears just watching the opening cutscene.
I love all of the resolution scenes. And I think the fact that Aerith tells him whatever Cloud may even think is not real is what a lot of people ignore lol, but that should tell you everything you need to know about where all of this is going.
My favorite is Tifa's because even if let's say you don't ship them romantically, everything that she says is true and it also includes Cloud. The tragedy and sadness of repeatedly losing everything and finally letting those tears flow is cathartic
FUN FACT: The Remake Ultimania sheds ALOT of light about what Cloud is thinking/feeling during these resolution scenes which then paints quite an interesting picture. During Tifa's resolution scene, while embracing a crying Tifa, Cloud puts aside any feelings he has for her, and is instead feeling pleased that he's finally become "the cool person that can save tifa". The person that he's always wanted to be. What he's feeling is then compared to a "one night mistake" (which is NOT a good thing because it makes the scene look bad). So basically, this scene is more about what Cloud himself is feeling than about what Tifa is. Meanwhile in Aerith's resolution scene. When Aerith tells Cloud to "not fall in love with her and that if it happens it's only in his mind", the words meant for Cloud are partly told to herself as well. Her request coming at odds with what she's truly feeling inside. Cloud after hearing her words protests saying "that's a very one-sided statement" since she's basically not let him have a say on this and is ignoring his feelings. Cloud then tells Aerith that he's going to bring her back, Aerith replies saying "it's frustrating, but it makes me happy". My favorite resolution scene is undoubtedly Aerith's.

I think Nobuo (and some of his proteges) will go down is history as some of the best composers that ever lived in our time....I'm talking like Bach, Mozart, status they're truly that good. Rebirth & FF16 both won the game awards for best soundtrack back to back, and dont even get me started on the Nier games. You'll see what I mean after you play more of the series. Bottom line..you got a lot to look forward to.
That's a tough one! I'm an Aerith fan and her scene is great and meaningful, but think Tifa's wins by a hair for timing and emotion. Looking forward to Intermission and Rebirth! Oh, and Rebirth is coming to PC so looking to replaying at least some of it myself with mods and improvements as (very limited) time allows.
Bro I can't lie I remember when ur video first got recommended to me and u were playing I wasn't sure u would finish the game. Just to see yo progress and embrace of the characters has been a helluva thing to watch 🫡 def one of my favorite playthroughs to watch wait til u get in tune with the dlc and hopefully rebirth. I got the Barrett Scene and its probably my favorite, Cloud and Barrett keeping there spirits up. But I never scene the Aerith scene that caught me off guard!

If you haven't played the original, I think it's normal that you like Tifa's scene more and touches your heart more, but if you've played the OG, it's definitely Aerith's scene, everything she says has a very deep meaning and her words hurt. All the words she says to Cloud are for his own good because she cares about him a lot.

The Avalanche members you meet in Intermission are the guys Barret name drops but they're on the run from Shinra so they're going by different names
