Love Rescue Me is my favorite U2 song. It has carried me farther than I ever thought. It is a prayer to me. I like this, but I hope to hear the full lyrics. I know live shows take liberties, but with Bob Dylan, a poet, I hoped the whole display. I love this band.

This was such a badass combo. How in the world have I never seen this before?? This was amazing. As an aside, for a bit of context, before this performance on December 14, 2010 they haven’t played Love Rescue Me since January 10, 1990!! So I would be remiss not to point out how ridiculous it is for them to dive into this song not having played it in 20 years.. yet somehow it goes off without a hitch and Bono remembers every lyric despite not intending to play it the night this was recorded. They didn’t even have the lyrics on the Teleprompter at his feet like they usually do on their more obscure tracks. They did this off the rip. Bonkers.

Yup. Edge is never rated highly amongst the great guitarists of time, sometimes even ridiculed for being a 3 chord and foot pedal guitarist, but he is out of this world to me.

I walked down the aisle to this. Our great friend sang it and played it on his acoustic guitar. We are 24 yrs strong! And Love Rescue Me is definitely one of my faves especially the last part. Oh, they didn't sing it, dang!
As many times as I have watched this video & I have not paid attention to how well he does orchestrate Love Rescue Me. Amazing! And they all know each other so well as musicians to move with him seamlessly. One of the many things that makes this band so incredible!!
Bono's voice just keeps getting better with age. This version of Rescue Me is better then Rattle and Hum Version. Dig the lyrics" The sun in the sky makes a shadow of you and I". Sort of a visual proof. We are a live and together. Like the Edges punchy harmony.
Leon McCray he is more technical nowadays (he is totally nailing in this version) but his voice was way more powerful and with a large range of reach in Rattle And Hum.
Unfortunately, no. Rattle and HUm features Bono at his most savage, vocally speaking. The outro of Hawkmoon 296, for instance, is amazing. The intro screams from When Love Comes To Town are an excellent example, as well. He's become much more careful, melodic and restrained. In part, that's a good thing if he wants to keep singing longer. But his voice is less powerful and less impressive. But he makes up a lot with feeling, emotion and creativity.
When U2 really go for it, few bands can equal them live. I never got to go to their 360 degree tour, but it looks like it was something else.......a full on experience. They have an unbelievable back catalogue .
