This song kept coming to my mind days ago and finally found it on UA-cam, mummy chaka is a quintessence of African beauty, still in a healthy marriage of 35years and turned 59 this year. Long live African queen mama
Very underrated song. If the very same song was performed by madonna or Cindy Lauper it would have had world class recognition !!!! Thank you Mama Yvonne Chaka !!!!
@@suanunwigbo3909 Where is the link with "Playing Victim" as you said ? I think you are completely out of subject. I said something factual and proven. If you can prove otherwise kindly bring your arguments instead of saying nonsense things.
We don't care what that part of the world thinks, for us here on the afrikan continent really thank God for such a rare talent whose music has stood the taste of time, Mama Afrika your spirit though you're still alive hovers over Afrika like colossus. We celebrate you always.
This woman is an African Institution, her contributions to music and the world are invaluable. God bless her. these songs are the soundtracks to many of our lives.
Funny but I woke up this morning with this song on my mind and decided to search for it on UA-cam and voila!, I found it. A song that ought to be Africas greatest peace song. A song that made my childhood worth experiencing. Yvonne is an African legend worth celebrating. I'm proud to be African, I'm proud to be Black!!! FOREVER AFRICA!!!
An African with african understanding, we used to gather around a tape recorder to listing to this goddess sing. Remembering my youthful days and quality music. Thank you....African woman.
The thing about these songs is that they take me back to the most interesting part of your life when there were no responsibilities. I get emotional listening to songs like this cos they absolutely remind me of my childhood.
When I remember my late brother kambona used to take me to sabena club to watch the video, I was still young but up to now my favorite songs is south african oldies from Uganda
I have been looking for this song, brings lots of childhood memories and we all pray for a peaceful world. No to xenophobia, no to racism, no to discrimination, no to government brutalities and never again another world war
Of course, this song still plays new in Ghana, very inspirational and carries a lot of social morality. Truly, we'd have to live together in our world to find the love we all once knew ....... in true harmony. Love from Ghana.
I grew up in the 90s in a small town in Nigeria called Owerri. The local radio and TV station (IBC) in the city where ALWAYS playing this song . This song brings back fun memories of my childhood. I miss those beautiful years spent with genuine friends and family, most of whom, I have lost contacts with. I can't wait to go back to Africa. I loved it there growing up as a kid.
Remind me of my Mum, She used to love this song we would listen to it a whole day,sad she passed away early 1994 .But when I hear this song it's just like yesterday 😢😢
This song reminds me my childhood days early 90s. I used to listen Channel Africa Swahili service. I remember notable presenters such as Mike Aleleng,Jen Zondo( RIP) and others. These songs were regularly played.
Honestly I miss those days. We were kids fighting about who is greatest between Yvonne and Brenda Fassie😀. Verdict= South African music was world class in those years. Lots of beautiful songs. All these artists gave me beautiful childhood memories.
Watching this song with so much tears gathered in my eyes. My childhood favorite artiste. Reminds me of my late father. Wish I could play her songs all day long.
I cry a lot now listening to this as most of the people I listened with are dead now 😭 childhood memories, in a big african family together living with love no matter the financial situation being not that good..
