After helping on a native reservation she wore a fake headdress in ride video and after being informed it's sacred to Native ppl of certain tribes and very meaningful and only a true leader and man who does what earns every feather, bead, and stich with his noble actions is bestowed it. And native regalia( sacred clothing) was illegal for native ppl in America to wear unless given rare occasional permission on their own land, same as dances were outlawed and speaking tribal language off your Rez out of your home was illegal. But Lana said " I'm not sorry and it represents the freedom of music and dance" later claiming a native friend gave it to her further making it ok, when really no real native person will give or could give a man's sacred regalia that must be custom handmade for the specific man, that would go against native traditions and teachings. And she doesn't even realize native ppl couldn't legally have the freedom to dance or perform music until extremely recently, the Sundance is still done under cover of night because how severe the punishment if caught, that's how severe it was. White privilege at it's definition working here. After she even donated money saying it was for reparations for this country, not an apology specifically in an interview just a couple years ago. So really she cares about natives, right? PR stunt most likely as she said, no she's not apologizing. If she had worn black face and box braids, oh no the media would be on her ( as they should) and ppl would be pissed. But native ppl? We all know for decades now how inappropriate and how much culture appropriation it is, but not Lana. And the media doesn't say a thing, screw us right? Never will we be equal.
