I think the partial reason for keeping Java Edition maintained is so that way Mojang/Microsoft can stay in control of that specific version. Because if they end up deprecating Java Edition, the modding community might eventually make their own community-ran version of Minecraft. And if that becomes the case, why would kids pay $30 for Minecraft if there's a version of the game (likely free) that offers a lot more freedom than what Bedrock offers (and is less buggy)?
@@1Henrink @NikowoOneshot theres tons of games out there that are minecraft-esqu, some more obviously copied then others, and at best they could prevent you from using code sounds and textures and names (which could all easily be just modded back into the free community made voxel mining game, the only action mojang able to do is well take the mod down, modles are a bit tricky since you could argue that in minecrafts case its just some cubes shoved together, and that its too simple, but theres also tones of voxel art so idk this ones kinda gray), heck one game i see potential in be where modders go if they dont make there own is Vintage Story, you could mod minecraft into that in a week. the thing about minecraft is, you aren't paying for "the game" anymore. theres to many clones and variations out there for you to. its the brand and the community, most people want the community, in fact something i rarly see are vanilla singleplayer worlds anymore, its either an smp, modded, or some challenge. thats what you buying into these days with minecraft.
As someone who mostly plays modded, I've noticed a while ago that a couple updates after microsoft got ahold of the game, the quality of updates has gone down, and they've started cranking them out way more regularly. I always felt like it was solely to keep generating discourse about minecraft, keep it at the top of everyone's minds and keep it very present on social media, especially youtube. I wasn't really confident about this at first since it kinda felt like conspiracy theory territory until I saw how bad they split the caves and cliffs update which REALLY made me confident that they're on some sort of corporate timeline to push updates out for the sole sake of having them out. This, of course, comes at a direct detriment to the modding community, which EASILY prefers when mojang takes their time to actually deliver quality updates, as the longer times allows modders to actually port mods and catch up more reasonably. Think 1.7 and 1.12 being sort of anchor versions for most mods/modpacks. Now we have a three way split between modloaders (plenty of that being at least in part an attempt to keep up with microsoft's shitty update schedule via the Fabric modloader being much faster to work with), a much sparser list of mods of actual quality compared to older versions (although the quality OF said mods are REALLY good), and there's some really annoying issues with having to pick what mods you actually want to use between different loaders and versions. So yea fuck microsoft and fuck the new updates for making the modding scene worse.
Honestly I wouldn't care much if they stopped updating java edition, as long as they let us continue using that version. People would just make mods to port the new official mojang features from bedrock to java. Knowing the community, their version of the updates would probably be better than mojang's anyway
Minecraft is more of a live service game than i realized. It's constantly updating and it runs off of servers. Even singleplayer runs off of an external server, and if those servers shit themselves and shut down for a bit, you can't play the game. This means that if microsoft decides that there is not enough coinage coming in, they can just pull the plug and boom. No more minecraft, at least officially. Like the fans creating fan wifi servers for ds games, the fans would probably create unofficial servers for minecraft, but how much of the playerbase would even know about it?

I get what you are saying, but I'm not sure how legal that would be. But a competitor would be more likely though

Seeing slimecicle putside of a slimecicle video is like seeing bigfoot
putside
Always love it when the UA-cam algoritm recommends a video from a smaller creator. Good quality video! You've got yourself a new sub! :)
Glad to see your videos are only getting better :)
One big reason they cant dissolve java is because of the java exclusive features and the lack of bugs in comparison to bedrock

Java is better on every level and it's the development of bedrock that has slowed development down so much - just my take
HOW ARE YOU PLAYING MINECRAFT WITH AN SNES CONTROLLER???
Why wouldn't he?
It's the true gamer's way
@@linkex2He said „how“, not „why“…
I like how you're doing the commentary while playing the game.
When the time stamp turned out to be "what's the big deal?" i knew the number 1# rated salesman 1997 will be involved
Lessgo new uplpad
my theory is that most UA-camrs use java, and that's the best free source of adds they ever had

To me its cause java is a test version for mc bedrock
Bro casually goes straight to heaven
wow
I still use Java because of the mods. I don’t want to pay subscription to download mods.
really great video
Java is like from questcraft for vr

i love kaveh
your skin is cringe and cute
it’s because they’ll lose their youtubers
Eventually they're going to find a way to ruin Minecraft, and it's going to die. That's okay. Nothing lasts forever.
I'd bet that the Java support is some clause in the purchase contract
