    Great video! After the storm, had a big powercut and for some reason my Connect forgot the WiFi network.
    Knew already about the WiFi button but the passphrase just wouldn’t work. Followed your reset instructions, straight in and then followed the rest of the video to reactivate.
    Thanks a lot! Saved a call-out fee!

    Hi. I’m pretty sure I know the master code - it’s what I type into the panel to set/unset the alarm, right? I have used it before when I had to reset it after a software upgrade and the installer showed me what to do. Just don’t want to end up with the alarm going off and not being able to stop it 🤪

    Hi. When I’m scanning for my router, it doesn’t appear on the wifi network list. Only shows people who have BT in the area. Any ideas?

    Not sure if anyone will see my comment, but I have an issue and can't find any information on how to solve it..
    I did the initial setup, all was going fine, generated the app code and made a note of it but when the client finally managed to get the app the 60min window had expired. So I followed prompts to generate another app code but it just times out instead and now I've got a com2 fault, smartcom device seems to be disconnecting and I need help to figure out why, could this be from any router settings on the clients side? We have daily powercuts in my city lasting 2 - 4 hours on average, each time I have reconfigured the device WiFi it just disconnects when the LAN is restored after the outage. Can this be solved with ethernet connection instead of WiFi?
    Tech support isn't helpful at all here, they keep refering me back and forth to different people and they all keep telling me to do the same thing it's frustrating and running up my bill.

      Initially, the client asked for texecom keypad app. I have done a few of those on 412 and 832 panels with no issues so I went and got the iP module and installed it to the guys 168 panel (supplier said it would work perfectly) but that was endless problems. It worked intermittently on iPhone but on android it refused. In efforts to please the client I have changed his panel to the elite and got the smartcom device out of my own pocket.. I'm having a problem with this too, just what exactly am I doing wrong here? I'm so frustrated I just can't see the solution. Please advise, anyone?!?

      After 2 hrs fighting with a smartcom today I feel your pain!
      Ok first things first! Power down the panel and smartcom! In restarting once the Wan light starts flashing press the button on the smartcom 20 times rapidly within 10seconds this will factory reset the box, leave it for 10min if the Wan lights solid your laughting if it’s flashing could be a faulty Ethernet cable or the router. Cable obviously swap the cables router reset and if that doesn’t work log into the router and delete the Smartcom (can’t tell you how to do this every routers different) if you can get a wifi connection even if it’s to a mobile hotspot as a temp do it and just to get a firmware update over this will solve 90% of your problems! Once you get an app code you need to register it there and then. Once it’s registered you can add users via the app. I spent two hours today and ended up been a soft Ethernet cable

      Sounds like the tamper springs stuck try getting so tweezers into at and stretch it slightly

  • @maximusg88
    @maximusg88 2 роки тому

    I did that - had to reset the password of the unit by mashing the button 10 times - but now it gives me a com1 / ats fault code and I can't change any settings (not even with my engineer code)?

    • @maximusg88
      @maximusg88 2 роки тому

      actually - I take that back :) used the engineer code - but should've used my master code as you say in your video... also forgot to type it in twice and then connect to the app first before clearing the faults

      Power down the panel and remove the batt. Attach the batt and press jump start and re apply power and should solve it

    • @alarmassist
      @alarmassist  2 роки тому

      Did you make sure you did it with the lid removed button is disabled is the tamper switch is pressed to prevent anyone just going up and changing the Wi-Fi. Also you have to hold it for about 20 sec then even if it seems like nothings happened search on Wi-Fi on your phone to see if it detects the Smartcom. If all else fails press the button quickly 10times all the lights will flash then wait 15min and try again

      If you have a plug socket near the panel might be worth getting some Powerline TP Links instead
