Fr. I’m a 69yr old man and I was raised in the catholic faith and I always received on my knees and on my tongue. I got away from the church and after 40yrs I have come back and I could not believe all the people that receive it in the hands my hands are not consecrated and I believe that I should not touch the host only on my tongue Amen 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
i completely agree. i’m 55 and can’t get back up without a rail. i’m so grateful God has placed me at a parish where they have reinstated the communion rail , it is such a beautiful experience to receive Christ while kneeling. i also started wearing the chapel veil about a year ago ~ since then many others of all age groups have joined. To God be the glory 🙏🏽✝️
it is not easy for some people to kneel. and some people can get down but they can't get back up. I knew one parish that still used the Communion Rail. People would line up along the rail. Some would stand. The priest would come along to each person, in the old way. I liked it because when i received the Host, i didn't need to rush away for the person behind me. It was actually also faster, and much more reverent--standing or kneeling.
As a child I remember the long kneeling cushion that went the full width of the church, as did the rail. The priest went from end to end distributing the host to each communicant. In those days the prayer was in Latin : "Corpus Domini nostri Jesu Christi custodiat animam tuam in vitam aeternum Amen." Our priest, who was a brisk ex-Army Chaplain, used to make one prayer do for several communicants, i.e. Corpus....Domini nostri.....Jesu Christi.......custodiat..........animam tuam........in vitam aeternum.....Amen. I feel the modern way, receiving in the hand, standing, with the simple "The body of Christ" prayer, is more practical, and just as respectful. It is also a lot easier for elderly people who find it difficult to kneel down and then get up again.
My parish is in the Lexington Ky Diocese. Our Bishop refuses to let us have any kneelers. If you want to kneeler, young or old, you have to go down on the floor. Sad
Please reinstall communion rails in all churches, and insist / majestic mandatory that all priests administer Holy Communion only on the tongue to those kneeling at the rail.
It is just gross and disrespectful to Our Lord to be sticking your tongue out at Him, drooling spit and the priest touching the Sacrament with his own wet fingers from the saliva of previous communicants. I receive in the hand as it is sanitary, respectful and the way one accepts a true gift. There is no greater gift than the Blessed Sacrament.
I’m unsure about how old this church is but I’m assuming that it was removed long ago by the V2 “creatives” - also old Novus Ordo boomers can get absolutely infuriated if you install a communion rail and may report you to the bishop
You don't have to necessarily kneel to receive Christ. There are other ways of showing deference. I, personally, make a bow prior to receiving the Eucharist. After all, you receive Christ in your heart from your heart. I don't think people should be told which way and make inflexible rules. Our priest provides us with options as to how we wish to show our own way of showing respect and adoration to Jesus Christ. When rules are laid it reduces everything into legalisms.
Not necessarily bc without rules people do as they please which is not good. There can be an expansion within rules but the “options” we have for receiving the Eucharist are technically within the rules of reception
Doesn't the Roman Missal instruct us to act in unity during the Mass, to avoid the appearance of individualism? GIRM Chapter II, Para. 42-44 might have an answer.

Great to see priests wearing cassocks again. Hopefully the altar rails will return soon.
Thank you for doing this!! ❤ Wish every church had kneelers. If they don’t I kneel on the floor to receive Him 🙏🏻

I pray for kneeling and receiving. I still miss it

This is WONDERFUL! Thank you!!!!
A k esker is fablous, every church needs one, what fablous idea, I wish every church had one.
I wish our parish would require the faithful to kneel before receiving Our Lord. This is the proper etiquette to receive the King of kings.
Thank you Jesus for St Joseph's church and for allowing us to praise and venerate your presence by kneeling before receiving . Amen 🙏

Excellent idea to add the kneelers! I wish my church, in Louisiana, would add them.
They've made some great changes at my parish, tabernacle on the back of the alter, bells, etc. But this is one more thing we need.
Beautiful. Please bring back altar railings and forbid communion in the hand.

It shld be compulsory to kneel when receiving Christ and ONLY on the tongue.

I wish you guys would make up your mind. Why did you do away with the communion rail in the first place?

Sorry, Chumley. Removal of the altar rails had NOTHING to do with Vatican II. It was done by weirdos who abused what Vatican II said. @@gobbleguk
Our portable kneelers were removed.😞
Will Eucharist minister still use hand sanitizer

"new option" lol. There is nothing new about this and the way it should be.
It means nothing one way or another to a believer.
it s about reverence to te king of kings. Be blessed 🙌 in everyway.
