They were all familiar to me aged 76 except number 3, I didn't recognize. We had a black and white nine inch TV which you had to watch in the dark. No remote needed - there was only one channel, BBC. Thanks for bringing back memories.

My grandson was examining the drum set in our church when his mom told him not to play with the drums. His reply, "Well, actually, Mom, you don't play drums. You just beat them." (grin) Yeah. A song he heard while watching Dagwood 'beating' the drums on an old Blondie movie I had bought on dvd. My grandchildren really enjoy these old black and white movies and tv serials that some of my generation and many others in the next gen have denigrated. Right now I am looking for the earlier Captain Kangaroo tv shows in black and white. Anyone know where to go? Looking for 1950s and 1960s.

A working colleague of mine used to tell the story of how she was RESCUED by the Lone Ranger.... Yup! For real!
She was a lovely lady named Shirley that I remember most fondly from our time working in in Cobham.
While still a little girl attending school Shirley was injured at the school's summer fête. Clayton Moore, who was there to open the event in the character of Lone Ranger...
... (a role they say he had difficulty in NOT playing)...
... gallantly took Shirley in his big American open-topped car with cow horns on the bonnet (hood) to the local hospital Casualty Department (now called Accident and Emergency) and carried her into the building in his arms, all the while wearing the mask, the hat, the lot! Not surprisingly, this caused a sensation with the medical staff!. Who was that masked man? Well, it really WAS the Lone Ranger.
    # Ta-d-dum, ta-d-dum, ta-d-dum-dum-dum #
This happened in UK. not the States.... in Surrey, Walton on Thames I think it was... if I remember Shirley's story correctly, which means the hospital was probably St Peters.
(I hope that nice lady is still OK... none of us are young anymore.)

These were easy. The reason I'm searching this stuff is for the name of a show that came on in the mid-fifties. I was 3 or 4 at the time. The show's intro had a young boy running, in terror, across the screen. He was looking over his shoulder as he ran, tripped, fell, then got to his feet and ran offscreen. After he was gone, a giant frog, about the size of, and walking upright like a man, came across the screen, chasing the boy. Anyone know the show? I can't find anyone that even remembers it, much less knows the name. I probably wouldn't remember it if it hadn't scared the crap out of me.

    1. Clayton Moore played the Lone Ranger.
    2. Jay Silverheels played Tonto, his friend (Kemosabee).
3.Jay Silverheels was a Champion La Crosse player in Canada.

IIRC, Clayton Moore had a contract dispute 1 year and the Lone Ranger was played by John Hart. This was only for that 1 season, thank goodness. And, in the 2 episode origin of the Lone Ranger, the evil Butch Cavendish whose gang ambushed and killed all the Rangers except for the Lone Ranger was played by actor Glenn Strange who most famously played Sam the bartender at the Long Branch Saloon in Gunsmoke.
