If you liked Fire Emblem 3 houses, check out Lost Eidolon's, its not bad at all for an indie game (it looks like Fire Emblem with Dragon Age realistic style graphics) and it has almost the whole voice cast of three houses on it, and other coming out as I posted elsewhere here, is "Redemption reapers" which looks amazing. Turn based games are FAR from dead. Its just that certain developers are trying to kill it, like Squaresoft. Dumb move on their part, as Persona 5, Octopath Traveler, Yakuza, and other recent popular games clearly show, while Final Fantasies stocks dropped 11 points. Action and turn based are TWO different genres, each with their own fans, who often dont like the other. Some just dont seem to understand this though.
So looking forward to Trails To Azure and Reverie later on! Also keen on seeing how Fire Emblem turns out. Engage has me worried more than any F.E ever has.
Same on all accounts. The art style for the new Fire Emblem looks better than Three Houses, but the design for the main character is rather suspect. The summoning of past heroes makes it sound like a Gacha game which is so far removed from the series roots that it's hard to fathom how Fire Emblem has evolved to this point. I'm never a day one buyer as my backlog is huge and I'm cheap too, so I wait until a game is on sale months down the road for 50% off and the game breaking bugs have been patched. This one will be no different, but it will be interesting to see what others think of it.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is something I've been waiting since 2020 for, even backed it myself FFXVI looks fucking fantastic Granblue Fantasy Relink looks good
Fire Emblem is my favorite series of all time but Engage genuinely hurts me to think about. I was always hyped for each new entry and have at least a thousand hours in my top 3, Three Houses, Conquest, and Blazing Sword. I just can't seem to get over the characters looking closer to Mirage Sessions that even Awakening.
I recently started playing some older rpgs that I missed out on and the Trails series is one of them. Still near the beginning of Trails in the Sky but hoping to be caught up by the time Azure comes out. I've been swapping between Trails and the older Final Fantasy games.
No FFXVI, VII Rebirth, DQIII HD2D or Sea of Stars huh? Well, to each their own, lol! I personally would love an HD2D remake of FFVI or DQV, but if I'm dreaming here, I'd also take a new, more modern-retro take on Shining Force in the style of the first few games, and a new Alundra title closer to the original & Landstalker, and less like the travesty that was Alundra 2! Additionally, if you get a chance to play through Chained Echoes, I highly recommend it. While it does have it's flaws, it is a pretty DAMN good effort from a solo developer, with gorgeous level design and a few gameplay mechanics somewhat similar to Chrono Cross. Definitely worth not overlooking at the very least, and one of the best indie RPG's I've played.
I didn't know FUGA is getting a sequel!!! Love the first game. The art style was phenomenal... That and... I'm kind of a furry at heart. So double win on me. And Suikoden is a damn cult classic. I couldn't get part 1, but part 2 and above were absolutely stunning. The drama, the politics, ideology and characters were great. I even played the one on the DS. The only blemish on this series was 4 and its chaotic naval exploration. 5 was definitely my fav due to you being a prince and all. That one had more political roller coaster than all the other games. Damn it. Now my wallet's gonna feel light.
I love Octopath Travelers. But I think they lack an aspect that I consider extremely important in JRPGS and that I really missed playing the first game. Games like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy and other RPG classics always take great care in the interpersonal relationship between your team members. In many games, we can feel that there is a friendship, affection and correlation between the characters in the game in a very strong way, as is the case with Zidane, Garnet, Vivi, etc in Final Fantasy IX, for example. I didn't feel that in Octopath this was properly explored, I felt that the stories were individual and that the team members had little or no affinity with each other. That instantiated dialogue they created to create conversations didn't convince me at all and I didn't think it was that cool, at least to meet the need I described throughout the text. I hope that in II they fix that and try to work a little better on the relationship between individuals.
I can't wait for the Shadow Hearts spiritual successor. The only downside is that it seems to be using a traditional turn-based combat system, as for legal reasons it probably can't use the Judgement Ring. I would have changed it to a pendulum combat system myself. Essentially the same as the Judgement Ring, except it being a pendulum. ....that and I could coin the phrase "the pendulum of fate is swinging". Which is based on the Guilty Gear X2 match start phrase "The Wheel of Fate is turning". Just something for myself lol.
I think I only got about a 1,000 hours of JRPG before I can catch up to Trails into Reverie. Maybe 900, I mean, I did beat Trails in the Sky FC so far, and I'm 50 hours into SC.
That would be awesome if they released suikoden 5 remastered someday. I had it for the ps2 but unfortunately sold it years ago when I got rid of my ps2 collection. Trying to rebuild my jrpg collection for the ps2 but this game is way too expensive now to get back!
For Fire Emblem Engage I am worried about the Nintendo Online and online only component of the game. Nintendo in their absolute fear of piracy is willing to start ruining their games.

Millium's brother-in-law is the other character in Trails of Reverie
You forgot Legend of Nayuta, which is finally getting localized officially
i can't wait for "octopath traveler 2" since i'm fan of octopath traveler 🤣 and i also lookin forward about "eiyuden chronicle", sounds interesting.
I'm excited for Fire Emblem Engage, The Legend of Heroes Trails from Azure, and One Piece Odyssey
Hey Eric, have you played Chained Echoes?
I want them all! 😁
Any idea if that Fate game will be on Switch?
I can't wait for the Shadow Hearts spiritual successor. The only downside is that it seems to be using a traditional turn-based combat system, as for legal reasons it probably can't use the Judgement Ring. I would have changed it to a pendulum combat system myself. Essentially the same as the Judgement Ring, except it being a pendulum.
....that and I could coin the phrase "the pendulum of fate is swinging". Which is based on the Guilty Gear X2 match start phrase "The Wheel of Fate is turning". Just something for myself lol.
granblue is not exclusive to japan, its fully in english. Now paying might be a problem tho
I think I only got about a 1,000 hours of JRPG before I can catch up to Trails into Reverie. Maybe 900, I mean, I did beat Trails in the Sky FC so far, and I'm 50 hours into SC.
I might think of getting Fate Extra Remake and I'm playing Suikoden II on the PS3
Octopath Traveler 2 for the PS5??? Omfg, on switch this game looked beautiful, can‘t imagine how it will look and perform on the PS5😍
That would be awesome if they released suikoden 5 remastered someday. I had it for the ps2 but unfortunately sold it years ago when I got rid of my ps2 collection. Trying to rebuild my jrpg collection for the ps2 but this game is way too expensive now to get back!
Did you talk about Chained Echoes?
Fuga is getting a sequel?? Sweet 💪
For Fire Emblem Engage I am worried about the Nintendo Online and online only component of the game. Nintendo in their absolute fear of piracy is willing to start ruining their games.
