    I have asthma and chronic bronchitis, this method has severely dropped the amount of asthma attacks I have per year. Also, I use my inhaler much less, about 30 puffs this year vs other years at 100+
    I bet part of it has to do with the sinus filtering air, and balances CO2 and O2 ratio.
    It took me 3 weeks to adjust. Im now 14 months in.

      Amazing! Was it a difficult switch to nose breathing?

    • @TheFunLuvnCRIMINAL
      @TheFunLuvnCRIMINAL 4 роки тому

      @@TheHardWayJDS no because it made my asthma easier to control. Mouth breathing causes faster ❤ rate which can trigger asthma.
      1st few days were tough but plenty of practice during bedtime helped.

    I just finished the book earlier today and it was so great to hear James talk about the concepts he writes about. It definitely helped me process the information better. Thanks for the conversation. By the way, I laughed when Joe said he was getting anxious breathing exclusively through your nose during the podcast. That was me last week and it’s already getting infinitely easier during everyday activities. Now I just need to transition to nasal breathing during my workouts.

    great interview. Excellent questions

    When we speak, we should be breathing in through the mouth and out through the mouth. Almost every activity, yes it's great to breathe in through the nose and perhaps out through the nose or out through the mouth.and you said during the interview you were getting a little stressed because you're trying to breathe in through the nose perhaps which is completely unnatural. Natural speaking demands an oral breath and trying to artificially shut that down and do nasal breathing for the inhalation before speaking is simply counterproductive. And as always talk about what the inhalation the nasal inhalation does but what about a nasal exhalation?

    I'm glad the interveiwer ask about breath easy strips. It is a hard transition but well worth it. I usually have a stuffy nose bc i drink cold drinks almost all the time and dont realize it. But when i pull on my face checks and open up the nostrils paythways I can breath freely and deeply. I intend to use the breath easy strips and possibly the 3m tape. I see my challenge will be at night.

    Bad diets cause inflammation which constricts the nasal passages and makes it difficult to breathe through the nose. Since I clenaed up my diet, I find that I naturally breathe through my nose.

    40% of children who mouth breath, end up in special needs class. Mouth breather is an insult for a reason.

    "Your heart rate variability goes through the roof. And thats what you want" we want a lot of heart rate variability or we want to lower our heart rate variability? Im confused.

    • @yoga4Mo
      @yoga4Mo 3 роки тому +1

      You want more variability. The heart rate should increase on inhale, decrease in exhale. When in fight or flight mode, there is less variability. Greater variability is an indication your heart is better able to adapt to stressors such as exercise.
