Hi everyone! Here's something that a lot of people might remember from their childhoods along with myself.
This song comes from the 1990 animated adaptation of the classic book Mike Mulligan & His Steam Shovel which aired on HBO in 1990.
This cover was also featured on the LINERS Special for TheMilanToon's Set Sail Primetime which I highly go check it out it's amazing!
I basically tried to get it sounding as close as possible to the original, in which I'm very happy with how it turned out.
With that said, I hope you all enjoy!

Whether it be describing a steam shovel without work, or an ocean liner in layup, this song is always wonderful 💙 such a beautiful piece!
I watched this as a little kid and I still remember the lyrics from the song
“I know that time goes on, the years just move along.” Those lyrics are so true
This is beautiful! I love it when I find obscure pieces of media that have criminally underrated music it. Excellent job.👍
Holy crap, that sounds so beautifully accurate, definitely the best song of the adaptation in my opinion
Beautiful, I love this special. I remember watching it a few times.🥲
Same here, I remember first catching this special back in 2006/2007 when it was being aired on HBO Family
IM ACTUALLY TEARING UP! Wisteria WHY??
Wow
Fun fact: that's a real steam shovel, and I saw her at Rollag Minnesota at the steam show there, happily moving dirt!
Great music as always!
I was hoping someone would recreate an instrumental version of this song. Also, Marian and Mike's story is kinda similar to that of Toby and Trevor from Thomas cause of how they're useful back then until newer machinery came and took their work away while both were nearly put out of a job - only to be saved and given a new lease on life.
where did you get these soundfronts?
