3:51 Just so you know, the radio is receiving the signal through the antenna, which is on the back of the car. If you move your phone to the back seat you're getting closer, not further away from the receiving end.

This is great for cars who don't have an auxilary input or a cassette player for a cassette adapter 👍
none of the cassete adapters have worked for my car :( this is my last resort. charging my now hoping it works.
Important thing to remember is, don't over charge these FM transmitters. Usually they only take about an hour to an hour and a half to charge up. Over charging can cause the battery to stop functioning correctly or the whole device can get fried. I have an old one that kinda looks like this one but it is smaller. It still works but it has to be plugged into the charger in order for it to work. It no longer works without the cord. I left it to charge for about 5 hours one time LOL. I forgot about it, that is why it's doing this.

Just to note, the car stereo antennae is not located in the car stereo so moving the unit away from the stereo you could be in fact moving closer to the antennae thus better reception.

Da Illuminati Well it is an FM transmitter. If you wanted to you could take it apart and use some copper wire and tape to add a traditional radio antenna to boost the signal.

You could look into AUX cables, the sound quality doesn't degrade like the FM transmitter. They are cheaper as well. I got mine for $6 AU and it sounds crisp with Beats Audio or a custom music player.
Hello!!! I also have my FM Transmitter, which I bought from Lazada (Philippines) last September 5th, 2018... Sounds good even when you play it over your home FM tuner (e.g. mini component, boombox, FM radio tuner, etc..)!!!

Not only for cars, but also for home FM radio receivers (mini component, boombox, radio cassette recorder, etc...) too!!! Just use your FM TX in your iPhone or MP3 player, turn on the TX then select the empty frequency you want to broadcast to, then match the frequency on your receiver too, where the TX is broadcasting to.
@CooLoserTech in comparison to what they used to be. you used to be able to use those and hear them three cars away no problem. fcc came in and said that violates air space make them weaker. so as it might work in certain markets like Chicago, you can't get a clean signal out of them.

Edit: Actually just a few days after this comment, I did receive it in the mail. It actually works pretty decently, but the battery life on it is miserable. Only a couple hours on charge.

(e.g. Receiver, Radio Cassette, Mini Component, Tuner, etc.) - JUST MATCH THE FM TRANSMITTER'S BROADCAST FREQUENCY to the same frequency on your radio! (If 104.9 on your transmitter, tune your radio to 104.9 too.)

No, all it does is radio your audio to the receiver. Everything else needs to be controlled through your phone

I've used this for over two years normally they last about a year before they break I've had two break now I'm buying another one, they work well but on both that I have had, the charging port breaks and then you can no longer charge it.

I'm going to be driving across country in a truck with only a CD player and radio. I want to be able to play music from my phone and iPod though so I'm looking at one of these. I'm wondering though if they would work because I'm sure the radio stations being used will change as I drive through different states, so will I constantly have to change what radio frequency I'm using?
What you do is pick your own empty frequency. So the only reason you would need to change the channel is if the channel you're on already is taken with a radio station.
As long as you're linked to that station and it's empty you'll be able to keep it on that one for ever.
Simply switch the frequency station and use it again on that

They are a thing. Just search something like iphone ** FM radio transmitter and you should be able to charge the FM transmitter through your cigarette lighter port and the FM transmitter will charge your phone due to the fact that it is connected to your iPhone's charge port.

I just purchased one of these from ebay today. I own a Hyundai Accent 2009 and I tried to play a burned cd of mp3s in the cd player and the disc got stuck and would not come out. I had to get some repairs done on my car for a different issue, and a professional was able to get the cd out. Since then I have been nervous to put any cd in the cd player. I tried hooking a cord from my mp3 player to what looks like a headphones jack on the Hyundai stereo but that did nothing. I am hoping this will work and I can play stuff from my mp3 player on my car stereo.
It should work. Just find an unoccupied frequency and tune it on your transmitter and play your music. It's very simple. Quality is pretty good, it can depend but it works as an alternative so have at it!

I finally got it in the mail and sound quality is good. every once ad a while you'll get a little interference in the sound but it does not happen too often. I like it much better then those ones that you have to plug in through the lighter jack.

Does the unit need to be turned on to charge it? I received mine last night, hooked up the micro usb to the device and the other end of cable to my computer's USB port. I had the unit's power off during charging.
The next morning after 10 hours of chargng, the unit's battery indicator did not advance from 1/2 charge.
Does your unit need to be powered on during it's charge?

Flynn Shady Not too sure. I know radio stations basically compress the signal/songs. Not too sure if this does the same thing (I have an old car with a crap stereo, so idk), but I don't think it would be on par with cd quality. Probably somewhere between radio and cd quality would be my best bet.
But I mean, seriously. I just picked up one for not even $5. Considering the price, I'm not complaining about the quality. Plus I don't have to buy an ipod with the transmitter. Just use my smartphone.

I live in Belgium and there are quite a lot unused frequencies (like the really low ones) but I'm afraid there'll be a lot of interference…
Our car doesn't have an AUX port and the Bluetooth unit can only be used for phone calls and things like Siri, since it doesn't support AD2P stereo (so you can't stream music from for example an iPhone).
all you need to do is change the frequency if you hear static and the problem shall be resolved
