When I was married, my wife's favorite treat off the ice cream truck was the Choco taco. She would always ask for it every time when they came down the street. One for her and one for my daughter or whatever she was having that day. All I have is the memories now, she died a couple years ago. I was having a pleasant day not having any feels.
Astronauts from Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States have spent time on the International Space Station. I think South Africa is in Africa. But he was a tourist and had to pay his own way, so I guess there is a joke in that. But it does seems to be pretty international.
That was my exact thought when I heard the joke, plus different sections are managed by different 5 agencies - NASA (United States), Roscosmos (Russia), JAXA (Japan), ESA (European Union), and CSA (Canada).
Though Russia pulling out of the United space station to start their own could be a blessing in disguise. As competition breeds progress and change. And maybe finally we can get further in space movement than our past founders in the 1950's-60's.
The International Space Station isn't just a collaboration between the US and Russia. The European, Japanese and Canadian space agencies are also participants. We're also no longer dependent on Russia to get to and from ISS; SpaceX has been delivering cargo since 2012 and transporting crew since 2020. IMO Russia pulling out doesn't sound like that big of a deal. ISS is scheduled to be decommissioned before the end of the decade anyway.
@@martinchege6256 It's been an evolving concept since the beginning. Canada, Germany, Italy and Japan were all involved before Russia. Five space programs and more than a dozen countries. Russia has been a major part of it, but it's not just US & Russia.
The ISS is mostly made of American modules. The Russian module will detach and we'll have to attach a new module in replacement which won't be a big deal. Also we are gonna have another space station soon on lunar orbit with the Artemis mission. USA is far ahead of Russia in outer space and is not dependant on them whatsoever.
You can tell the Daily Show team is bouncing back into the flow. I feel like there has been a wave of confidence from the writers this week on all the late night shows. Trevor and Stephen Colbert I watch everday but this week I caught myself really commentating outloud on everything. Keep it up!
I toured the Large Vehicle Assembly Building at Johnson Space Center as part of an undergraduate research project 20 years ago. It contained life-size duplicates of every module of the ISS. Our tour guide described who was responsible for supplying each one. A lot of it IS the US, and Russia. But the European Space Agency (the EU space program) is also a much more significant partner in building and operating that facility than many people outside of astronomical research/ space studies realize.
i want to see the big room they tested the space station in. some vacuum chamber big enough to house a skyscraper sized vehicle as it putters around in no gravity while they test space flight.

In 2002, Shuttleworth became the first South African to travel to space as a space tourist, and indeed the first African from an independent country to travel to space" Who was even thinking they could get away with space tourism back then!?
There are many countries represented on the ISS - the Japanese Space Agency, the European Space Agency, the Canadian Space Agency, etc - as well as NASA and the Russian cosmonauts.
Russia pulling out of the international space station has been on the cards for months. NASA started exploring alternate ways to re-boost the station and return astronauts from the station the week Ukraine was invaded. This has not come as a suprise. P.S- Roy Wood, you are a legend.
Trevor and most of the world population didn’t know how much Russia was connected to everything because American media give American credit for everything. But American actually has nothing.
@@maxmustermann9587 I don't understand your comment. I was merely pointing out that Russia has quite literally said they'd pull out since 2015. You can track it being said every few years and would go til 2024. Thus this isn't anything new.
@@BaneNathos My comment was about your statement _"in 2015 when they invader_ [sic] _Crimea"_ First: Crimea became part of Russia again in 2014. Second: There is quite a distinction between _invasion_ and _secession._ Here it is where internatinal law is not consistent, where the right of self-determination of peoples is conflicting with the right of self-preservation of the state. There was a plebiscite in Crimea about leaving Ukraine which passed. Was it illegal by national Ukrainian law - yes. Was it illegal by international law - no. Well, _every!_ Declaration of Independence is illegal by _national_ law. Point is: The outcome of the plebiscite was quite clear right from the beginning. That's why the central government in Kyiv was against it and that's why Russia did send troops to Crimea to block the central government from interfering with the referendum. With a population share of over 70% Russians in Crimea all Russia had to do was to make sure that the referendum _did happen._ Was sending Russian troops to safeguard the referendum illegal - yes, both by national and by international law. Does the presence of Russian troops make the result of the referendum less valid - no. And so we are back to square one: The conflict between the right of self-determination of peoples and the right of self-preservation of the state.

@@slayerpoint-dr1pn I think there are people asking for just that. Also why won't you keep pushing for justice if you suffer monumental injustices? Much of the truth has been burned! The little that remains is probably not nearly complete which can lead to false and dangerous assumptions!!!
You know, the one thing that I've learned from truth is that: "Ignorance is Bliss" - This is truly so! There is only ONE truth that sets us free, and that is the truth of the cross!!! Any other truth just makes your blood boil more and more and at the same time makes us feel even more helpless than ever before!!! My point is, knowing any other truth outside the truth of the cross has no bearing, changes nothing and just makes your heart sour, when, really, it should be rejoicing is Christ! That's the only true freedom there is!
Son of a gun! Roy's final bit brought a tear out of me! That was some great acting right there
"The Catholic Church, the world's #1 manufacturer of Atheists". First, that was just one of the best lines I've heard. Period. Then the news that followed is one of the most inspiring clips I've seen. This is 100% the best pope I've ever known of!
🤣🤣🤣 "No chooo for you..." 🤣🤣 How does one come up with lines like that.
I haven't seen Klondike's Choco-Taco in my store in years so I won't miss it. Roy Wood's routine reminded me of going with my family to get ice cream, just one more thing I miss, which Is why I always take my grand-daughters to get ice cream when they visit me.
My father in law does the same thing with my kids.
"It was a'ight! It wasn't a classic-it wasn't a legendary ice cream treat."
Trevor's face: "You dare?...YOU DARE?!"
Congrats on 10 millions subs, Trevor! 😄
YESSIR WE DID IT
Though Russia pulling out of the United space station to start their own could be a blessing in disguise. As competition breeds progress and change. And maybe finally we can get further in space movement than our past founders in the 1950's-60's.
I love the person who can clearly be heard saying “Really!?” when Trevor asks about Roy’s dads truck 😂
"A crown without jewls is just a hat." - Trevor Noah
well they could just buy their own Jewels
The International Space Station isn't just a collaboration between the US and Russia. The European, Japanese and Canadian space agencies are also participants. We're also no longer dependent on Russia to get to and from ISS; SpaceX has been delivering cargo since 2012 and transporting crew since 2020. IMO Russia pulling out doesn't sound like that big of a deal. ISS is scheduled to be decommissioned before the end of the decade anyway.
my only concern is if that russia decides to shoot the stationwith a missle...
Thought it is designed in a way you depend on each other that is USA and Russia
@@martinchege6256 It's been an evolving concept since the beginning. Canada, Germany, Italy and Japan were all involved before Russia. Five space programs and more than a dozen countries. Russia has been a major part of it, but it's not just US & Russia.
The ISS is mostly made of American modules. The Russian module will detach and we'll have to attach a new module in replacement which won't be a big deal. Also we are gonna have another space station soon on lunar orbit with the Artemis mission. USA is far ahead of Russia in outer space and is not dependant on them whatsoever.

“Imagine you’re crying and I’m gone!”🤣🤣🤣
You can tell the Daily Show team is bouncing back into the flow. I feel like there has been a wave of confidence from the writers this week on all the late night shows.
Trevor and Stephen Colbert I watch everday but this week I caught myself really commentating outloud on everything. Keep it up!
"Didn't your dad drive a truck like that?" Audience: "AWWWWW" Me: "BAAAAHAHAHAHAHA"
That was the best part for me 😂😱😂😱😂🤣
It's the "really?!" In response for me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I toured the Large Vehicle Assembly Building at Johnson Space Center as part of an undergraduate research project 20 years ago.
Yeah, that really bugged me when he said that.
i want to see the big room they tested the space station in. some vacuum chamber big enough to house a skyscraper sized vehicle as it putters around in no gravity while they test space flight.
Russia has been dropping from ISS for quite some time now. They are working with China on making their own ISS jointly.
I just considered that a minute ago.
Roy wood Jr was brilliant in this segment! 👏
The ISS consists of Canada, Japan, the Russian Federation, the United States, and eleven Member States of the European Space Agency (Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom).-Wikipedia
Don't be pedantic. The US and Russia are the main contributors. With the current plans for the rest of the decade it can't operate without Russia.
Wikipedia also says "Mark Richard Shuttleworth (born 18 September 1973) is a South African-British entrepreneur who is the founder and CEO of Canonical, the company behind the development of the Linux-based Ubuntu operating system. In 2002, Shuttleworth became the first South African to travel to space as a space tourist, and indeed the first African from an independent country to travel to space"
Who was even thinking they could get away with space tourism back then!?
There are many countries represented on the ISS - the Japanese Space Agency, the European Space Agency, the Canadian Space Agency, etc - as well as NASA and the Russian cosmonauts.
Russia pulling out of the international space station has been on the cards for months. NASA started exploring alternate ways to re-boost the station and return astronauts from the station the week Ukraine was invaded. This has not come as a suprise.
P.S- Roy Wood, you are a legend.
Years actually. They said they'd pull out by 2024 in 2015 when they invader Crimea and people got mad
Trevor and most of the world population didn’t know how much Russia was connected to everything because American media give American credit for everything. But American actually has nothing.
@@BaneNathos
As you might expect, international law is not among the qualifications of US citizens
@@maxmustermann9587 I don't understand your comment. I was merely pointing out that Russia has quite literally said they'd pull out since 2015. You can track it being said every few years and would go til 2024. Thus this isn't anything new.
@@BaneNathos
My comment was about your statement _"in 2015 when they invader_ [sic] _Crimea"_
First: Crimea became part of Russia again in 2014.
Love his take off of us Brits. Its high time the British Museum stopped hoarding other cultures' artifacts even extending to body parts. Most I gather, stored in cupboards. Greed is their only reason. And arrogance.
How about the Catholic Church give land back to the indigenous people
The church don't even have land anymore. What're they gonna do? Give up the Vatican?
This is the problem today, and the main reason why no one comes down a step to apologise or accept or to do something for their mistakes..
people like you keep pushing it, don’t you??..
You got your own government, politicians , corporates which grabs lands in the names of development, reform etc... but u don’t ask them to return and why is tat???? Is it cuz they didn’t come down and apologise????
@@slayerpoint-dr1pn I think there are people asking for just that. Also why won't you keep pushing for justice if you suffer monumental injustices?
Also what's ur point, ppl don't apologize bc the stakes for doing it are too high bc ppl expect more? If sb's gonna really wanna apologize they do it anyway, if they don't then they probably don't anyway. Apologies are not negotiating matter, they OPEN the path to negotiations in many cases. Fundamental difference there

I didn’t know that the Chaco Taco existed before watching this segment just now 😳
And Roy was very discerning about the heat-related decline in road rage, I’m betting the drive by’s too. No matter how wronged you feel, even the idea of getting out of the car- or simply opening a window (if you have AC- and I really hope you do!) is in conceivable. And then the other person has to get out of their car or roll down their window for your rage to be heard.
I sometimes wonder if Pope Francis has a list organized by priority of groups of people he needs to apologize to on behalf of the church. He must!

That's nice, so how much money is the Catholic Church going to be putting in to help the survivors and their communities?

$10k. That was in the "report" Noah gave.
I mean, I want to make it clear I totally agree with you they need to pay reparations. But he does actually mention how much in the show.
