For those of you w/o an impact wrench, save yourself some grief and undo the counter-sprocket nut before removing the chain. And even if you do have an impact wrench, still undo the nut with the transmission in neutral and using the chain and the wheel to help, instead of hammering the transmission. I know it's strong, but why take chances? Also, that master link could use a bit more grease imo.
Truly hilarious: the ‘BMW Guy’ telling me how to wrench on my KLR. The only relation my KLR has to Beemers is I can ride into town to get them parts, when those overpriced, over-engineered boats inevitably break down.
Airhead and KLR maintenance are just what I need. Thanks for expanding into a commonly seen model

I had the Tengai for a couple of years and it served me very well. Nowadays Tengai and KLR are rather rare. Thanks for the video BMW guy!
Nice video. Thank you. New gen 3 Klr owner, congress from Harley. Delving into the ADV world now at 60 years young!
Exactly what I was looking for

I’m not pouting because “not a BMW” video. BMW is one of 4 brands in my stable … maybe going to be 6 brands soon. Motorcycles is fun.
I believe you put the front sprocket the other way in, No?
Should the chain be lubricated?
You did not show the front sprocket tightening...

All good, neat seeing other bikes.
I know i am getting mixed opinions on a non BMW video. Thought it would be smart to maybe broaden my audience

I did vote BMW only, but frankly idc. As long as you do you and you're happy and doing well, that's all that matters.
@@TheBMWGuyI like it - but then, I also have an ‘07 KLR.
Your audio has alot of echo in it
