- A judge in a small eastern Kentucky town was shot and killed in his chambers Thursday, and the local sheriff is under arrest. District Judge Kevin Mullins, 54, was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Kentucky State Police. Peter Lichtman, former Los Angeles County Superior Court judge, joins "Banfield" to discuss the dynamics between judges and sheriffs.

Judge didn't realize he was dealing with a T 1000 Terminator.
Omg, this judge looks young. I saw that too about the daughter. If it is true though, she has lost her dad forever now. She may blame herself too.
Ugh it’s such a tough spot. Hopefully her mothers involved. Prayers to the family. Both families.
Where's the info about the daughter?
Things play out a lot differently in KY.
People need Jesus
You can say that again. People need Jesus instead of guns.
Amen
wow..something big happened between these two..
Seems like a sheriff would know the consequences of his actions
I went to school with Mickey the Sheriff and speak to him regularly when I see him out in public, I can say this. He is not an angry man or quick to anger, a very calm and level person. The only thing I could ever seeing him lose his cool over is his children. He was super poor like everybody else growing up, he always took up for the other kids who were not able to defend themselves for bullies and no one really ever had a bad thing to say about Mickey. I don't think any jury in eastern Ky will convict Sheriff Stines. I've heard dozens of people around town is saying numerous things but they all point back to the same issue. But their is a camera in those chambers so a freedom of information order should let the public know exactly what occurred. I don't want to speculate but I think I can sympathize on why this might have happened. I've heard all the rumors but I don't want to say anything until its out in the open. Lets just hope they release the video quickly and it didn't disappear or wasn't recording or mysteriously vanish.
So, regardless of whether there were mitigating circumstances or not, are you saying that blatantly killing a person should automatically exonerate one from accountability? Don't forget, the Sherrif is supposed to uphold the law and not to act in similar ways as ordinary criminals do.
No jury in ky will convict him?
I don’t think you could speculate anything bigger than that...
But what do I know? This should be interesting...
Sheriff and judge’s “close” relationships are what leads to a bias. This guy says it like it’s a good thing. Our justice system is irreparably broken.
On fb. It was saying that the judge was messing with his 17 year old daughter.
I think it is probably true.Because that Sheriff is a straight arrow. It had to be something very terrible and very dark to drive the Sherriff to do what he did.
It has to be something very personal
I heard that also
100% facts
Don't gossip.
My state keep being on the news smh
The judge got too close to the sheriff's underage daughter. This was my sheriff.
16 is legal consent in state of Ky
judges and sheriffs are gov skumm.
At the end of the day nobody likes a judge 😂
Did the judge have a very close (too close) relationship with the sheriff's wife perhaps?
They were messing around .
These judges love to play god.they forget that one day they will meet the true god and they will be judged.
This is America, dont catch you slippin up
He should have complied.
Exactly. I don't know if you live here, but you hit the nail on the head
Sheriff probably asked judge to stop sleeping with his daughter respectfully lmaoooo 😂😂 no punt
Sounds like the Judge might have been steppin' out with the Sheriff's wife or made an improper advance to the Sheriff's daughter.
What’s remarkable about it? Isn’t this the USA?
You hit the nail right through the coffin. Typical America.
The bailiff is only there during court I’m from a nearby town and are court houses only have the public around couple hours a day
Was this in the Hatfield & McCoy area?
Them Kentucky people.
I heard the sheriff and the judge were gay lovers! Lover's spat!
Sounds like a judge and sheriff finally saw each others' true colors while pointing fingers at everyone in town. What does God have to say about this? Oh yes. Judge not............
Nothing useful is being said to the public at large. I have doubts about the sanctity of this judge. Yes I feel for his family and friends. Just what prompted this Sheriff to take the law into his own hands and perpetrate this vigilant form of punishment.????????😮
They were fkn😂
Sickening
judge and sheriff had freak offs with baby oil
They was fuckin
