- Maple was found wounded and wrapped in bandages which she had to have changed every other day. She was holding her head low until they dressed her like a butterfly and she got so much attention she soaked in that energy and really took off.

Treating injured patients my whole life, I found children to be the most challenging. I imagine vet care feels similar. Doing procedures that were often painful was emotionally tough. But I had to project calm and confidence, for them to feel the same. Nothing felt better than seeing them return well again to express their gratitude. God bless these people who rescue animals. We are all grateful for their service.

I had to hold a little girl down while we were trying to get an overly inflated and clogged J tube balloon out of her abdomen. She fought like we were trying to kill her. I was so upset that I was trembling and had a nightmare about her that night. I told them I don't think I can do anything like that witn her again. Maybe a stranger, but not patients that I've had for a couple of years. I don't know how vets and rescuers do it.
Dodo has this incredible talent for making me feel utter despair, sadness, anger, AND pure joy… all in about 4 minutes 😆

I used to want pittie nation vids every day, but now I'm like "I don’t think I'd emotionally survive that."
Joyfull tears watching these moving videos is what gets me by. I live in an apartment that doesn't allow dogs and want another pittie in my life so bad.

Everybody here has said it all. It's all true. Blessings to Maple and the Doctors and helpers, foster mom, Forever Mom and the people here.
I know people do terrible things but can we just focus on the great 👍! People who help these wonderful dogs. There are plenty of people who need this kind of help too but never get it. The comment section of animal rescue is littered with people who do nothing for animals or humans being negative. Don’t tell me how to cry, tell me how you’re fixing something.
Remember humans are the worst animals in the world you cant trust too much even your best friends and relatives

There is nothing worse to my ears like pets crying. It’s the most helpless I feel and I wind up crying because they need something and I want to know right away so I can fix it!!! But watching Maple and hearing that cry and knowing ithe pain was

Hello fellow animal empath, I totally understand the feeling and longing to save and protect any animals you see that has a struggle, I just feel like there is all this love in me to give to all these animals, and it makes me cry when I realize I can’t literally save them all.

I’ve never been a fan of dressing dogs up in costumes, but this was brilliant. So adorable.. ✨♥️✨👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Humans project our desires on non human animals quite a bit. They know what they need and enjoy. 😊
I believe animals are as individal as humans are. I'm not huge into dressing up pets too, but I'm not opposed to it if the animal seems to like it. Maple clearly loved the attention she got when she was dressed up and in the long run it's about their individuality.
I dont like when people project their views on what others do. I have a rescue chihuahua, she is timid but very friendly, I bought her a thunder jacket for security and she loved it. It gave her a confidence and I realize that clothes did the same thing, she comes running to get her clothes on. With that said at 5lb when we are out in about she must be carried or the chaos of so much going on makes her stressed, so she is carried in crowds and the clothes she wears also serves to keep some of the shedding off on me. So dont judge, if you dont want to put clothing on your dog, dont! But do your best to rise above judging what you dont understand, no one is being hurt. I have had many dogs through the years; Great Danes to chihuahuas....she is the only one I have ever dressed and for her benefit and mine... Confident in her clothing!
If dressing up animals in funny costumes is a crime lock me up and throw away the key. 🤣
My pit/lab/shiba inu/akita asks for his bandanna back if we take it off him. Loves wearing sweaters, too.

Man I love pitbulls so much. The 1 percent gives this amazing breed a bad rap. We adopted a bait dog and he turned out to be one of the best doggies we've ever had. He was so loving and forgiving. Loved other dogs and cats too.

This was always my most favorite part😍Being able to decorate their sweet bandage wrapped injuries. You were able to break away from the norm and do something cute to brighten everyone's day. We even used to take the supplies home to work on them because sometimes they got so elaborate🥰🥰🥰

Maple is just adorable and it's wonderful to see her journey to a happy life after her trauma. That butterfly outfit was phenomenal, she looked so cute.
