Loved watching the hard tacks and buoying rounding brings back lots of memories for a geezer. Watch the winds as my 99 year old mother told me many times.
Curtis and Kate, Nice aerials; and as always, I love viewing the Brazilian coastline.. I'm ready to see y'all racing. Thank you for sharing. Cheers! Blue Skies, Fair Winds, and Following Seas. Faithfully, James Cheers! Faithfully, James
The one design boats looked like there is a vibrant community down there in Brasil. They looked beautiful and gnarly. You two are so lucky to just to show up and are ready to race. Looking forward to next week’s race.
It is nice to see support for Sailing Sweet Ruca has passed 20k subscribers. Your drone shots are incredible. Looking forward to part two. I am gonna run out of popcorn with all these great sailing/racing videos. Brazillian racing sailors are quite impressive.⛵⛵ The racers avoiding the anchored yachts reminds me of Laser racing in the harbor tacking to avoid obstacles.
Thanks for commenting from Japan!!! That is a great compliment, but we were just really happy with Mitsubishi's sponsorship of the event. They did a wonderful job making great racing in Brazil accessible to us and mixing up high level professional sailing with cruising and fun classes. Great for the sport of sailing, and for us, a wonderful unplanned event in our voyage. Cheers!
Lovely to seen keen sailors of various levels, in a far away country. Those conditions really sharpen skills, reminds me of Scotland where the are serious tides and if the wind is very light, it's best to drop anchor rather than be swept miles back. I'm curious how lake sailors will find it, more tactics to employ!
Great footage, gives a nice “in the thick of it” feeling. Some pretty serious racers there, and not just the black sail crowd. I’ve got over 17 million meters on a rowing machine in my basement, the one time I tried a scull on water I promptly capsized😂 Looking forward to seeing how you do in your upcoming race 👍
Another good video. Boat races looks like controlled chaos but extremely competitive. Gonna be a treat to see you all compete. Yall keep having fun and stay safe.
Sweet Kate, great footage, was a racer back in the 80's so long ago but still gets the BP up. Looking forward to seeing you two race next week. And yes, when I started watching was wondering about the boat damage & if it was repaired. In the 2000's did win all of the club races on a Catalina, but not the same as class racing.
We do have a water maker, however the water we are anchored in is not always the cleanest water we want to run through our filter. It also used a lot of power. When you can get fresh rainforest water for free, why not? Tastes amazing btw
Nice drone shots, there was a lot of activity you folks got on film. I always think of that country as a vacation getaway location rather than a serious racing community. Though I suppose there are serious racers everywhere, I just don't get to see the evidence!
Great video, anxiously awaiting our equatorial crossing in 2023. If Curtis lets his hair grow, having the "John Wick" look, being muy macho. Latinas like macho.

Thanks for sharing Richard! Your mom is right about that!

Next week ought to be fun ‼️‼️🌊💨💨⛵️💪🏻✨
It definitely was!
Cool video and music, I'm sure you guys liked everything with your own racing background.
Thanks! We still miss it from time to time
Nice video ! Let’s see what happens next week !

Great drone footage. Some pretty impressive boats racing there. Great job on the video

It was a very exciting and cool video! Please get something from Mitsubishi for advertising expenses! 🤭

PADDLERS heehee....Outriggers and surfskis! Looked like an OC6 race happening too!

Thanks for sharing! It was a definitely good to get our bones moving again. Knocking off the great lakes dust for sure 😀

Wow, that's a lot of meters!!!!!! The rowers, or paddlers, were really serious! Some hardcore stuff.

Thanks Stubby!

Thank you!

Ha! We know that feeling when watching racing! Glad to hear we brough back some great memories!
Cool to see racing and the yacht club down there. Looks very similar to America, just with BRA sail numbers.
Brazil has a pretty cool yachting and boatbuilding industry.
great stuff
Thanks Marcos!
How come the refill on the water tank ,thought you had a water maker ?

Another great episode guys ‼️ 👍

Thanks Allyn. Same here. Brazil blew our expectations out of the ballpark!

Can't wait to hear how the crossing goes!
Why are the row boats out at the same time ? Seams a bit chaotic,,,,
Definitely was chaotic. No idea why they organized it that way..
doesn't look as crazy as a Port Huron to Mac race
Enjoying the flat water that day for sure, but it can get pretty gnarly when it wants to!
very nice club inst
YCI was a wonderful hosting club!
👏👏👏
😀👍👍❤
😁🤙🏻😀
