Rick is a phenomenal harmonica player and now he leads the Nightcats I still have went and his drummer played with Little Richard for 16 years and man is he a showman
They and Mumbo Gumbo were the "house bands" at Melarkey's in Sacramento. If Little Charlie and the boys weren't on tour. You could find them at the Palms in Davis, Original Joe's Hoffbrau, or the Torch Club in Sacramento. Rick would pull up in his beautiful 1959 El Dorado.
You are absolutely right these guys where the BEST show in the land. I saw em 5 or 6 times and they never failed to WOW me. The James Harman Band was almost right there with em, but these guys where the ultimate live blues act in the world.
Used to watch these guys ai Melarkey's in Sacramento and The Palm's in Davis back in the 80's. The had a song called Ice Cream that they only played live - it was a bit racy. Best band I ever saw.
.. are a little mistaken. He is on tour in heaven with BB King Stevie Ray Vaughan and I think I heard Jaco Pastorius on bass guitar I'm not sure but I'll find out when I get there
Little Charlie is one of my favorite guitarists. RIP CB

Straight forward Chicago blues sound! (even though they hail from California!) Marvellous!!!

A concert is great when at some point the music is so good you just say damn. In a little Charlie concert there are too many of those moments to count

Saw them in Iowa, of all places, in about 1990. Great show.
