I'm pretty sure I had a community conversation with lulwa last week during my application process (the world is a very small place), I've recently just been trying to find out the most suitable university and stumbled across this video. (I'm sorry if I miss recognised her and sorry for the awkwardness in advance)
hi!! you probably did speak with lulwa :) definitely speak with people from different campuses or watch videos (which is what i did) to find out which one is right for you! csc was always my first choice but definitely explore the campus options :))
Hello question here .Can you give a brief answer on how do you personally take care of your hair? Like in boarding school?
Hi!! I had braids for the first two months, but I took them out. I shipped a lot of my hair products from the US (which was a mistake because they’re still not here yet), but i’m just wearing my hair out naturally with some of the products that i have. It’s not difficult to take care of my hair here. My friend also found a good braider here so she re-braided her hair. I hope this helps!!
i have a question: Can you guys leave the campus on the weekends and go to the city? also, this vlog is so amazing!! u should do more like this :)
Hi!! Yes, we can leave and go wherever we want on the weekends. Some students go take an overnight somewhere and come back to campus on Sunday night. We can also leave on weekdays but have to come back by 9:30 :)

@@zaizai561 i’m kind of repeating 11th grade but ib grades are either dp1 or dp2 it doesn’t go by 11tg or 12th
Do you have wifi there? Also do they choose the boarding school for you since there’s many different locations or are you able to choose it yourself?
hi! yes, we have wifi with a built in vpn so we can use foreign social media & yeah they do choose which boarding school we go to but i got to rank my choices and i ranked china #1 :)

@@danique_xx Yes, there are a lot of people here that go to very prestigious universities like Oxford, Harvard, Stanford, NYU, etc. It all depends on preference and your eligibility to be competitive in their applicant pool.

honestly i’ve been slacking even though i’ve been learning for years, but after living in china i realized that studying vocab and speaking as much as you can is the best way to improve!!

I went to boarding school for a few months in middle school. However, it was in Pennsylvania and not China. I really think it helps develop social maturity and independence. The academics are more rigorous usually, so take that into account too. Overall, I think boarding school is really great and if you select the right one, your child will have a lot of fun.
Which one in Penn? Do you rec?
@@MM-by7xm Perkiomen. I honestly don’t recommend because of the remoteness of the school and a lack of diversity. The community surrounding the school was very racist as well.

@@dragonslux How did you get the full grant? In my country the situation with the national committee is difficult, only 1 Changshu gave us an 80% grant, but most of the guys can’t afford it, because we’re not all from the richest families. Your answer would help us a lot, thank you!
@@user-xv2st4lj3lHi! I think it just depends on the national committee you come from, because my national committee told me that Changshu would give me 100% scholarship. I’m not really sure how they decide, but that’s my situation.
