  • In this episode, Jacob Reynolds is joined by our executive director Frank Füredi, head of EU Affairs Bence Akos Gat and senior research fellow Arta Moeini.
In contemporary political discourse, there is a tendency to classify anything diverging from the left-liberal ideology as "far-right." The team delves into the rationale and ramifications underlying the transformation of the "far-right" label into a potent weapon within modern politics.
Next the team talks about the medicalisation of politics and, consequently, everyday life in general. Medical language now shapes public perceptions of political issues and influences policy debates.
Frank and Jacob delve into the concerning matter of how gender clinicians have been able to carry out highly dubious medical procedures, particularly involving children, as revealed in the recently uncovered WPATH files.
    00:20 - Why they call everything far-right
    04:40 - a Hungarian perspective
06:35 - Conservatives of old would now be called far right

While I agreed with Britain leaving the Eu there was one thing I really miss . In Britain with its FPTP voting system which guarantees a legacy party government of parties that have become far left and so similar, the ability to vote in Eu elections was although seen as pointless from a democracy point of view , it did however feel that you could vote for genuinely right wing parties to send a message. PR in Europe has shown by giving the electorate a choice they will migrate right if allowed which means they have a chance to stop this madness. Voting in Britain has become pointless.

@@yoloswaggins7121 How do you feel about laws against "hate speech?" Should they exist or do they restrict free-speech? Liberal and Left ideas are in conflict. For example, the idea that citizens should be equal before the law is Liberal, but the idea of Equity - that people should have broadly the same outcomes, and if they don't this is an injustice - is Left. When social progressives talk about racial equality or gender equality, they don't simply mean equality before the law, because in nearly all cases that was achieved many generations ago. Instead what they mean is there should be equal outcomes, equal wealth, equal power, equal representation for all peoples everywhere, even equal happiness and health. That is fundamentally anti-Liberal, because freedom produces inequality of outcome.
Yes, many modern so-called conservatives are simply Liberals in the classical sense, in that they believe the role of the state should be limited to ensuring legal equality, the right to private property, free markets, and the rule of law - as opposed to Progressive-Leftists who believe the state should do social engineering. Typically those who these days describe themselves as simply "Liberal" are often progressive-Leftists, while those who describe themselves as "Conservative" are often just Liberals who owe far more to Hayek than Burke.

It is a fact, however, that there are a lot of right-wing politicians out there. Yes, people do sometimes say some politicians are far right when they are not. However, Boris Johnson was a complete clown. Then there is Nigel Farage 🤡 . Another clown. Imagine having a party that praises the free market. The free market, free trade, which Adam Smith espoused. And then the Lunatic Fringe of that party comes along and lobbies for Brexit.

    • @pincermovement72
      @pincermovement72 3 місяці тому +2

There are not a lot of right wing politicians out there in the traditional sense , anyone who espouses right wing views are killed at the birth of their career , which is why occasionally a politician on retirement spouts after a whole career of toeing the line , concerns that normal people have about immigration etc.. This is showing that his whole career has been a sham and worthless to their constituents. Brexit was the one and only opportunity to vote for something that I felt was genuinely going to make a difference after decades of voting for the least worst party , not who I wanted or agreed with and they couldn’t even give me that . The regime not only diluted as much of Brexit as was humanly possible but gave us a punishment beating for voting the wrong way by increasing immigration threefold of third world unskilled migrants who will cost us dearly on every metric . As for Adam Smith trading philosophy, this was when we as a nation were so far ahead of others technically and with cheap resources could benefit by trading freely . This is no longer the case and as before when we joined the Eu certain industries critical to any nation were protected with tariffs, along with state ownership of utilities . We chose what needed to be protected but once we joined the European union , where we got banking , Germany industry and France agriculture the rest of the nation was not only left to whither on the vine but allowed to be asset stripped and sold off . Once with our money the Eastern Europe states had adequate infrastructure because of your free trade all our better companies were transferred there usually with an European Union subsidy . They couldn’t even protect our steel industry which was always seen as critical in case of war . Calling Johnson and Farage right wing is as ridiculous as calling the Eu a free trade bloc .

Well, it is in many cases not so difficult or based on my personal experience with these movements is that they self-identify as right-wing and even gleefully adopt the Far-Right and Fascist designations. They often are such just because they actually are. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. What I also noticed is that the distinction is often embraced out of generational basis in which the individuals actively reject and take distance of the very often left-of-centre ideations of their parental environments they grew up in, which, with the fall of the soviet/socialist powers, also carry the stygma of being the 'defeated' ideologies. They also often distance themselves in anti-science and develop quite noticeably into conspiracy embracing directions.
From my personal perspective, it worked and works eggsackly the same, but in reverse. Having grown up in a calvinist conservative family and environment, I have grown much more social-democrat, the older I have become. I now see myself as distinctly left-of-centre and rejecting the dictatorship of personalised self-interest (leading to oligarchist ideations and ultimately to kleptocratic gangsterist societies as seen in Rossia and Hungary.).

ONLY ON THE FIRST PART OF YOUR VIDEO
Although your observations on current political use of language are mainly correct, and I believe that Christianity is still a good and effective force to oppose the expansion of Islam, as it has done it successfully in the past, and if a new crusade was declared the majority of Europeans would still join it, here are some other (annoying) observations on other ideas introduced by Brussels half-literate lackeys only a few decades ago:
The moment of departure from the original EEC rhetoric to the current neo-liberal EU one occurred at some point in the 1980s. And the change its self to me consists in this:
European Politicians (and woke historians) stopped talking about an ancient Europe and started talking about a medieval Europe (a Carolingian Europe, whatever was that supposed to mean-by excluding the whole of eastern Europe and some of the western as well). They stopped talking about a European civilization with deep Greco-Roman roots and started talking about "their common Judeo-Christian Tradition", again whatever that meant and however that so called tradition could be defined as, which anyway has not been satisfactorily defined to my knowledge, as on moral and philosophical grounds it stands in direct opposition to the aforesaid Greco-Roman roots that De Gaul and Adenauer were talking about.
Talking about "Common Judeo-Christian Traditions" may not be far right, but it still is a lot of bollocks. Anyone who does not recognise that he/she still is the beneficiary of the Greco-Roman civilization and tradition which Christianity tried (unsuccessfully) by every means at its disposal to destroy, can stop using and exclude everything Greek or Roman from his life, including language, thought, art, politics, and practical everyday life facilities etc, and climb back to the trees. You still travel on Roman roads, and without the Greek and Latin languages (and concepts) you are left again with "ugh" and other assorted guttural sounds for your communication needs. Up you go! After all the bible is a divine book which can provide every required answer to tree dwellers, can it not?

What is wrong with traditional views that have been a mainstay of any civilisation and country formed over centuries and millennia? Could it be that a patriotic belief system was the best way of protecting your culture, nation and values . A common religion glued this jigsaw together , along with family at the head of its ethos . Why is the progressive message only a few decades old against centuries of tradition a better way than what was adopted since before lands became nations? Progressive politics has everyone fighting for supremacy, law and order breaking down, men in women’s sports and changing rooms , mental illness through the roof and the indigenous majority second class citizens in their own homeland. Competition and in group preference is what a nation has stood for to achieve supremacy, where those around it are too weak or scared to attack it which prevents conflict . Patriotism is not a dirty word but a pride in your forefathers achievement and a means to pass on what you have achieved to the next generation who without patriotism will cease to exist .
