Man I love learning about these engines! At least you have summer where you are, here in Seattle it rained today, but when it's nice it's gorgeous here!
Very nice work on the engine, and the videos man! Every video just gets better and better! Keep them coming, your channel is one of the best on youtube!
THis is awesome man! I'm eating my breakfast on my way to work watching this! cant wait to get home to watch the next two videos. I like how you stress about the locktight, my old man would alway have locktight red and blue in this tool box I loved the smell of it as a kid lol . I under the heat your going though minus the humidity lol, I cant fill my propane cylinders in it. Have a Good Day Wayne!
@Graveltrucking No it is napa sealer. 2 weeks to get it off though LOL. It has been over 104 to 108 for a long time now and I cant wait till it gets cold. Thanks for stopping by,
@Graveltrucking LOL my dad used red loctite on the sparkplugs on his 503 rotec motor in his ultralight. LOL. Thanks for stopping by and the cool comments.
@TheDieselStop I have seen people using the red stuff I usually say hope you don't want to get that apart lol. Keep the videos coming everybody learns something new they may never repair their own vehical but they get any idea how things work.
Love Your Vids...Very Interesting and Informative...I wish i had a cummins to rebuild...what do you estimate the cost of a build like yours to cost on compleation ?
@FastMike5 I do have a small swamp cooler in there. But I dont think people would want it hear it all through the video. The guy that I am building this cummins for did not want to spend the 400 on head studs.
Can't wait to see the rest of the build! Did you use the die-grinder for the INSIDE of the seal housing (where the seal is seated into) or is there another method to clean that surface?
Is that aviation gasket maker you are using kinda looks like it, that stuff is a real bitch to get off your fingers you are wearing it for a few days lol. Converted 108 Farenheit to celcius (42.2) holy crap I would have been passed out on the floor from heat stroke. Can't wait to see the rest of the engine put together.
Hello there, I like to say thanks for the videos "really cool " Im a Ironworker by trade but, wanting to move into the diesel mechanics. I will be attending school in Farmington NM. this fall, any advice???
