Fanatics haven't worked well for me, I’m a big fan of Flying Generals, Ballistae and Pikes, so I am very much enjoying your new list! As a fellow KoM player, the Captain’s redeploy is definitely a bit of a gimmick. Only one redeploy is guaranteed, so you can’t really rely on it for anything substantial, and so you are never going to completely bamboozle your opponent with it. The best use I’ve found is having something expensive and scary (like a Knight Horde; any kind of Death Star unit) as your first drop, to see what your opponent will do. If they overcompensate to counter your scary unit, you can then use the guaranteed redeploy to get your scary thing a more favorable match-up. You seem to start your deployments with your Ballistae and a clear battle plan, so the redeploy probably isn’t going to do much for you. Thanks for the report!
Hey thanks for the blog recommendation! I'd not heard of it before but I'm really enjoying it! I do sometimes lead with ballistas to area deny but equally I actually want them to be effective which means I need to hold them back if there are certain units (e.g. titans) I'd want them to focus on. Agree with your assessment of the captain!
Excellent, enjoyable video! Drop Hex and add the 5 point sword, mace, and either staying stone or healing to your 3 Generals on winged beasts. It improves them significantly and gives far more utility than Hex. Also, please keep the overhead camera on as it is a niche better perspective because with the side camera alot of visibility is lost, especially on the opposite end of the table.
