The Dollar tree has the"cleaning only"version of vinegar that works really well on my floors and doesn't break them down from the acid that vinegar has.

  • @Love2cruise319

    Proceed with caution:
The acid in vinegar can break down the protective finish on wood floors, making them dull and reducing their shine over time. Vinegar can also damage polyurethane floors.
The alkaline pH and harsh chemicals in Dawn dish soap can strip away the protective finish of wood floors over time.

Wood Floors and Linoleum Floors and Ceramic Floors - I use hot water and white vinegar, about 3/4 of a cup and this is the best my floors have ever looked and felt. Insects and ants don’t like vinegar. I do not use soap on them at all. Vinegar cuts soap so add a 1/2 to 1/3 cup to your RINSE cycle in your washing machine and it will soften your clothes. Also an appliance guy said never use store bought fabric softener as it ruins your machine and he also said to double rinse each load to get all the soap out. That’s what makes clothes stiff and scratchy and eventually fades them. Ps. You will not smell the vinegar in either application when floors or clothes are dry.
