- Singapore has completed two-thirds of the work for the JB-Singapore light rail system that will be the third land link with Malaysia. The prime ministers from both countries met on Jan 11 to mark the placement of a span that connects the marine viaduct on both sides. Acting Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat said the next phase will see the completion of civil works and rail testing. Rebecca Metteo reports from Johor.

Milestone to screw up Singaporeans?
One of the Best News so far in 2024! Thank You So Much CNA for the updates! 😊🙏🌷🌿🌏💖🕊🇸🇬🇲🇾
There is a burning question begging to be ask though. After the mrt is finished and start running will johore and aingapore still be liveable by then? There will be swarms of humans everywhere in these two places. Also will sg property renting market be finish as well? The Malaysians if they can go home after work they wont stay in Singapore anymore. That will be hai lut for many landlords by then.
It should be great in my opinion. Singapore businesses can use the ample land that Johor has and Johor can benefit from these foreign investments. It will also make it easier for Singapore to attract cheap labor without people residing in Singapore & at a time when the birth rate is so low it can continue to make the economy function. There is going to be a property bubble involved but I would argue that productivity will increase significantly with this project, which might lead to higher wages. I don't like the KL-Singapore HSR project instead. I highly doubt it will create a lot of business investments. The sector that will gain the most is the tourism sector but the tourism sector is low paying jobs & large scale tourism usually leads to property price appreciation. The KL-Singapore HSR should be banned.
Cheer Up & maybe Look at it Po$itively … We Now have a Known Criminal Enterprise Working With a Known Corrupt Enterprise… Don’t insult their Resourcefulness…Am sure they’ve Got that small Adjustment Covered 😊 …
Already happening. I rent out one my unit in JB to Malaysian working in Singapore. There are many others in my JB condo .
You can rent whole 1 BR apt for less than hdb room in woodlands 😙
When this open i will go Malaysia frequently to eat the RM1 eat-all-you can buffet. Imagine paying 23 cents for a buffet.
Is this true. Still available?
It's seasonal. Need to look out for it. There are other buffets that are inexpensive.@@keangwooichoo6138
Clearly benefits MY more than SG. Watch many jobs & biz move to JB & Singaporeans going there to shop & eat instead especially when the passport thing is done. Also many more criminals will be able to enter Singapore... all i see is SG security cost & job losses going up yet SG is paying for majority of this project.
It's quite a sight, to see all these ministers in construction suit. Very surreal.
Stupid construction ! Wasting Singaporean Taxpayers Money ! Serve Malaysians , not Singaporeans ! 😂 VTO PAP in GE2025 !
Malaysia reported 900k Malaysians work in Singapore. This will only give more jobs for Malaysians. Singapore government spent $$$$$ to benefit Malaysians? Why r Singaporeans still serving National Service?
😂😂 terimah kasih singgapore kawan baik🎉
Many singapore people come to Malaysia to buy cheap products it's good for Singapore people not government but Singapore will get benifit from business and tourism
Awesome , singapore and malaysia .
What a waste of people's money
Cool. I am happy for both jb and singapore. Enough of the bloody jam at the causeway
Singapore and Malaysia
2/3rd, 3/3rds. Can you also include percent / percentage too for those who does not understand the *3rds*
Here you go.66.6% and 99.9%
Here before all the PAP bots start spamming the comment section 😂😂
How does it benefit Singaporeans? Anybody knows?
Why. How come MSF Comcare woodland branch make senior citizen life difficult why why why
??????
Singapore govt is closing and consolisating alot of schools. And this RTS going to move 10k pax per hour in and out of Singapore. Are Singapore preparing for a bigger population in the next 10 years ? Esp. There are projected sharp rises of older Singaporeans and drop of birth rates, the only way to continue growing economy is to bring in more foreign talents. This could be bad news for Msian biz as they will find it more difficult to hire the best locals to work there. Smart move for SG. With so many foreigners living in SG, the enemies will need to think twice to bomb Singapore without repercussion from international attention. Every chicken legs our govt give out, the govt has the plan to bring back whole chicken. Johor will help to entice from inland Msians esp. KL and east Msia to come to live in JB and work in SG.
Singapore take 60% of the cost.... can la. As long... its complete... it run smooth, and who knows, the track continues in malaysia, connects to more parts in future, and that will definitely boost more tourist to the two countries. Woohoo... can't wait.
Reason why Singapore take higher 60% cost bcos of our higher land cost and construction cost for our part of RTS.
About time this project should be accelerated. So much flip flop from Malaysia over the years. It should have been done 10 years ago. Corrupt Mahatir has been draging down this project in the past.

Malaysia needs Singapore, Singaporean passport is rated the number one in the world. And Singaporean economy and the job market are essential for Malaysia's survival. Good job for both of these countries.
we both need each other. its been like that since forever. so deal with it.
@@whybotherha1021 Tbh, Singapore doesn't need Malaysia much, it is rich and can get it's water, resources etc. from other countries. But Malaysia needs Singapore because Malaysia's economy is struggling a bit, it needs the help and support of a rich and prosperous country like Singapore to keep its morals high.
@@stylishboy004 you are funny. Then why drank our subsidise RON95 ?
Singaporeans will be very delighted to hear this news. They will definitely be able to shop till they drop based on the stronger SG dollar 😢. As for Malaysians, we will be crying looking at our bank accounts every time we head to SG.
No.. as for Malaysian, they will gain sales. So it is win win .❤
People say our city expensive but it's not even that expensive 😂
Those angmoh lol
A railway expert mentioned because of the many passengers this RTS should use normal subway trains. Light rail trains and wheels can last only five-six years. Malaysia wants light rail trains to save costs.
Ticket fare will be >S$200 per trip, or maybe more i hope.
BUILD A CASINO IN JOHORE👍👍👍👍👍
