As a parent- I will never trust another adult who advocates in any way that children can consent to being abused, taken advantage of and preyed upon by other adults. There is no consensual sex between adults and kids. Just abuse.

    • @athelwulfgalland

Amen to that! No matter how adult-like a child might present themselves in the public sphere if the parents have created an environment where their child or children feel comfortable just being themselves though; They will see that facade slip.
I was a very adult-like teen but as I reached adulthood, now many years ago, I realize how much of a child I really was at say ... 16. Now I'm not pulling out the victim card or anything like that. Technically though I was "abused" by a married adult woman in her mid-20s when I was 17.
I was still dealing with the aftermath of the absolute worst kind of break-up & therefore was an easy target for deception/manipulation. She'd claimed that her & her husband had been separated for months & she would be ready to move into her own place soon. It was a complete fabrication & I believe that's the reason why they bother to have statutory rape laws. I just wasn't responsible enough to be making such decisions at that age & I don't believe any child is.
With neuroscience & psychology identifying the general age of emotional & intellectual maturity being 25 now? I wouldn't even be opposed to 21 being adjusted to the minimal age for tobacco, alcohol, age of consent & minimal age for military service.

Okay. I have a major problem with this comment. Because you act as if this is not what YOUR CHOICE was at 15. I understand that this happens AGAINST some girls will.. or they are lied to about the age of their partner.. but to say you "consented".. and then to claim dating someone older than you.. messed you up? I'm sorry.. I cannot understand being purely affected by an age gap.
I dated a 25 year old at 15. We stayed together until I was 20 and he was 30. My parents actually had a major issue with it when I was in high school. Then after my parents got to know him, I moved in with him at 18.
My point is... I KNEW WHAT I WAS DOING. At 15. I made those choices. And I accept them. Those choices made me who I am today.
It is okay to REGRET that you dated this man at 26... But to make it sound like HE took advantage of your age.. is NOT okay. Your parents consented, and so did you. Which makes him feel safe dating you. #REGRETISNOTRAPE

Edit for clarification: I am responding to the context of the video. When I say children in this context, I was thinking children before puberty, so a kid around 12 and under. When I say adult in this context, I was thinking of someone in their 30s or 40s. I was NOT intending to start a conversation or fight about consent laws or what really defines a child/adult. I think she's maybe borderline personality disorder or NPD. I'm also not sure how she'd be a victim of traffiking. She's raised in a western country, middle class and wasn't in local authority care or in a situation were she would be so desperately vulnerable as to be traffiked. Not abused but actually traffiked, which only really happens to western girls if they're raised in care or are victims of CSA as kids and - far more rarely - pimped by a step or foster parent in a family that's incredibly underprivileged, dysfunctional with a mentally ill mother. It also tends to happen with disabled kids or those with severe learning difficulties etc.

      @NicholasBrakespear Рік тому +8

@@derekeimer7758 Historically, the age of consent has been negotiated in good faith; it wasn't a matter of people deciding "what's the youngest we can possibly allow this?" it was more a question of, "How old must a person be before they are responsible enough to consent?"
It's a subtle distinction, but an important one - one is negotiated with the aim of protecting a child, and maintaining social stability. The other is negotiated with the aim of minimizing protections, usually for personal gain.
It was never a precise science, and never will be. But it's the intent behind the ongoing negotiation of these laws and social rules that matters most. As a general rule, if someone is arguing for more "rights" to be given to children, it's another way of saying they want protections to be stripped. And if they outright say that they think the age of consent should be lowered, one should immediately cast a withering and suspicious gaze upon them.

I think she's crazy and evil, and anyone that advocates for minors having sex with adults should be shunned and run out of society at the very least. She's using language in order to manipulate people and that means she's intentionally being deceptive.

@@revisit8480 well she IS a woman, and this comes from a person frequently called a TERF for pointing out that most of the modern trans movement are sad failed men appropriating womanhood.
Blaire is really a woman, though, despite her parts, because she thinks like a woman. She isn't audacious, she doesn't make brazen baseless assumptions, she isn't consumed by a need for action so much that she can't speak or think first.
Then there is the fact of how others treat her. Go watch her in that Middle Ground episode. They talk over her, interrupt her, don't allow her to interrupt them. The other trans "women" in that video are treated like men by the men in the room. People go out of their way to ask for their opinions and give them ample room to speak. No one interrupts them.
Then there are the more subtle forms of communication. They don't look at Blaire when she's speaking. Men tend to only look at inferiors when they themselves speak, and only a glance at a time. Men only look at others while they speak when those others are perceived to be authorities over them. They treat Blaire in consistency which this, but not the other trans women, who are treated like men.
So, you're wrong about this. People CAN BE misaligned internally and externally, and when there is a true misalignment, everyone notices. Even the bigots obeyed the unspoken social codes that result in men and women being treated differently. Even bigots treat Blaire as a woman would be treated. She IS a woman. That doesn't mean anything for every other trans person. She isn't biologically a woman, and she states that many times herself, but outside of a doctor's office or a bedroom, that fact won't ever matter because she really is socially a woman. If you met her and didn't know she was trans, you'd treat her like any other woman. That's probably why you have to insist she is a man. Probably some small part of you is sexually attracted to her, and because you're a sad, narrowminded man raised by the patriarchy, that terrifies you into thinking you might be gay, even though even if you were, no one would care. THIS is true transphobia right here.
So say whatever you want, believe whatever you want, facts don't care about your feelings. The fact is that gender the social construct doesn't aways align with sex. The evidence is abundantly clear, if you watch any video of an actual woman in a room full of men. Doesn't matter if that woman is trans or not, as long as she is actually a woman, the results are the same. Lots of studies everywhere online which show this. Literally Google it.
Trans women ARE women. You've just become convinced this isn't true for any person because the vast majority of the modern trans movement aren't really trans people. They're transtrenders who weren't special before and now they are. They're self obsessed with their own identity because they can't generate love for themselves from within. Honestly, it's the product of the same patriarchy that kept women down for millenia, and it's sad.
You make me sad. Defy my expectations. Actually read this. Be mindful. Practice love, in Jesus name amen, and blessed be.

My first thought when I heard Eliza say that some children are more capable of being in inappropriate relationships with adults, is that kids who exhibit those signs etc, have either been groomed or abused in some way. To say that that makes them capable of being with an adult makes me sick, those children need help and proper care and guidance.

Not that I'm excusing the statement, but how do you know that they can't?
You assume they were groomed or abused, but how do you verify this? Ask them about things they don't even understand? What if then those kids are too young to give accurate statements at all?
      I'm legit confused.
I do understand, on a fundamental level, that children are too young to know, from the get-go, about consent or the aftermath of giving consent for anything, but I'm just confused about the grooming bit.
Wouldn't you have to find actual talks (chatlogs) with an adult to confirm grooming took place? And if there are none, how would you confirm they were abused? And what do you mean by saying that? Physically or mentally? I guess mental abuse can be confirmed by a psychologist, but physical abuse... ? Would you force children to have physical examinations? That just sounds wrong and horrible, especially on a child that never was a victim - maybe even more so on victims.
Could just be my own ignorance on the subject, or maybe I don't see the bigger picture, but there's just question upon question piling up in my head.

I think what she is referring to might be how kids BEHAVE without them Understanding HOW they're acting. I have 2 daughters, as little kids 3-6 years of age taking pics, the 1st kid smiles and tilts her head to the side. Normal. My 2nd daughter is born. I don't take pics of her out in public because she OVER-DRAMATIZES it, sticking her booty out, flipping her back😳. Family SWEAR she's some re-incarnated model or playmate. That's a leap of logic that just isn't always true. There are lots of "precocious" minors who are much better equipped to deal with advanced concepts than the norm. I was one of them. My mother always said I came into this world old.
I'd trust an objectively based psycho-emotional evaluation a hell of a lot more than some magic number that was only invented in the last century.
And we need to stop using the term "child" interchangeably with minor, as Bleu is doing. A child is a pre-adolescent. Under NO circumstances should an actual child be considered eligible for adult activity of ANY kind. But trying to say an adolescent can't make larger decisions about their own life is either incredibly foolish, or deliberately disingenuous.

Never was groomed or had anything bad happen as a child. And i had a great family life with both parents. But I still would not let a young girl like myself get close to an older man even if they are only 20 or 22. But that being said there are way more girls that are young that probably have been groomed into what they are and the laws should remain that young kids should not be with older people because it's just too hard to decide whether or not they are actually mature enough or just being used

I watched a trial where a man for sure raped a preteen girl and got away with it because the statute of limitation and I was like wtf why is there a limit on rape? Years later my friend showed me texted from a girl we went to highschool, they had a relationship and a kid together and things got bad between them and they both regret each other and the text made it seem like he pretty much r'ed her just because they had sex 15 years ago in highschool and she now hates him. Like why would she have a kid with him and be in a 5 year relationship and then later say he raped her because she now hates him and tries to gaslight her past into not being consensual.

Thousands of years of evolution have created a scenario wherein there are a subset of women who legitimately can't handle free speech, liberty, or other being treated as equals. Their evolutionary path took them down a route wherein they didn't have those things, so they evolved to survive in spite of not having them. Re-introducing them to a notion of equality is a cruel thing feminism has done to them, they would have been fine as housewives, not so fine running around embarrassing themselves and trying to ruin anyone who crosses their paths on a whim. Those behaviors exist for scenarios wherein someone has no power, isn't taken seriously under any context, and has to learn to manipulate a person to stay alive, they aren't made for free-Human-level responsibilities.
