@@OneilEdwards-v5nyou is a real foolish person to think beenieman is the king of dancehall A who give beenieman that title is certainly not the artist and it damn sure wasn't the fans either
Two great dancehall artistes of two different era. The 80s was Yellowman's time and Beenie Man from the early 90s onwards. There are a lot of things about Beenie Man that Yellow dont like and he explained it in quite a few interviews. Yellowman has always been the king who was crowned by the people, Beenie Man is a self proclaimed king.
I enjoy listening to Beenie Man, but have to silence him on Yellowman who is a Legend and setup the dance floor when Beenie was still a BOY, he maybe a Man now, but he ain't the Don nor the King, that is YELLOWMAN the LEGEND and TRUE KING of the DANCEHALL without DOUBT!
Been a dancehall fan for decades. Yellow man is definitely Legendary and Bigger. Seriously speaking Beenie had a dope run from around 96 to 2000. By the time Sean Paul released Dutty Rock Beenie was not doing anything groundbreaking. He wasn't boss anymore, his time was up. Yellow man influenced too many artists and his rhymes are heard in so many tracks by younger artists. The Current King is Vybez Kartel hands down. Beenie must learn to sit down and shut up.
Real Reggae heads know king Yellow Man is the real king 👑 2:21 says it all. Beenie Man is self-proclaimed. Supercat, Shabba, or Ninja never once sel-praise themselves anything throughout their run. The people label Cat the Dondada and so forth.
I’m not trying distinctly claim who is king. Yellowman is the king of the dance hall, meaning the place where people went to hear reggae artists and dance. That was before dancehall became known as a genre. So maybe it is a king of a place and a king of a genre. But there can’t be two kings of the same place.😂
Yellow Man was crowned 👑 King of the Dancehall 💃 🕺 by the people from the people even many of the D jays back in those days refer to Yellow Man as King Yellow Man 🤴 👑
When Beenie was young he was a superb deejay - had some records that were absolutely outstanding and at that time not many paid attention. Look up these early records and albums! Did not like the international pop records that came out later - but that's just personal taste. Don't know about the beef that's going on since a few years - and it's none of my business.
Sean Paul is way overrated. He's a pop star (I'm using "star" very loosely. )not a reggae star. Being the king of whatever it is, is a lot more than just winning awards. It's not like it's the damn Olympics or something.
Beenie man undoubtedly is KING of DANCEHALL. He has managed to stay relevant for the past 30 years. The only other DANCEHALL artist to accomplish such feat is his nemesis Bounty Killa.
Beenie is the King of Dancehall. Yellowman had his time and it is done. He is a legend but he has not been active in the dancehall for too many decades while Beenie has been active ever since. When Saw left Dancehall, Spice assumed her mantle. So, it is natural that Beenie took over the mantle when Yellow stopped being active. There is no one king or queen. Kings and queens come and go. Yellowman’s feud is in vain.
If u ask jamaican who alive now name 10 beenie and name 5 yellow song them name the 10 and struggle to name 3 yellow if them can name 3. Beenie how recognize world wide more than yellow . Beenie is good. Yellowman is legendary
No one cares about legends, it's all about the ERA. People crown their kings depending on the era (time period) they were introduced to the music.
