at 10:02, both Behemoth and Oats enter a room in sync. They both then proceed to gather the three items in that room, in a different order from each other, and then they both leave the room in sync at 10:33. Beautiful.
This is my favorite run ever. The high level skill, the route variation taken by own runner, how CLOSE the run was the whole way through, and with how entertaining the hosts were. Absolutely perfect, can't wait for next GDQ event. See you next mission!
It feels so bad to see Oats having a not so great run specially after seeing him practice for weeks. Don't worry oats you are incredible, congrats to all the runners.
Love hearing the commentators warming up and getting loose in real time and having fun with it. If speedruns are the music, the commentators are the lyrics.
This feels all the sweeter, knowing that we'll be seeing a new Metroid in just a few months, and that Dread could even appear in events next year, if not earlier.
Excellent show of skill by all runners! My favorite GDQ commentary to date! They were both very knowledgeable about the game and extremely entertaining! One of the most fun runs I've seen in a long time!
commentary for this run was fantastic and the run itself, beautiful wish i caught it live but worth it to watch the archive. i just played super metroid for the first time a few weeks back and just finished my 2nd run yesterday, whole new appreciate for speedruns of it
Super Metroid related runs are always my favorite to watch. Be it vanilla SM, SM Impossible, or the SM/LoZ Link to the Past item randomizers. I love them all.
The commentary on this run is impeccable, the same level of charisma and chemistry as 2 legendary sports commentators in the booth together. Everyone's just having a good time. :)
Run of the show. IMO, it's these swaggy runs that are the most fun. Glitches and exploits are fine but 100% runs just demand a pure mastery of a game's mechanics which translate to a more enjoyable watch than just watching some dude clip through a level. Donated on this run. No better run than when a metroid runner is going off.
draygon takes damage from shinespark because you can normally kill draygon with shinespark. Just attacked by his mucus. Mucus decreases your rate of increasing speed which make you activate speed boost and shinespark without short charge and through this, you can kill or damage him with shinespark. that's why i also think short charge is kinda intentional from developer. Just you have to find it yourself to increase difficulty for players to use it from their first or more playthroughs. Intentional in the sense of not using it in casual playthrough but intentional in the sense of using this hidden mechanic in a different way to create a possible way to kill draygon with shinespark. Instead of tapping dash button when it is needed to decreasing the rate of increasing speed when holding dash itself to make it activate speed boost in that room under 85 frames.
I complain that the gravity jump is too hard to do, then watch these guys do tricks I have never heard of, and make so much use out of the wall jump that they don't use the grapple hook even once (outside of opening a door haha).... @-@

And just a while ago I was watching Oats' Super Metroid Impossible run back in AGDQ 2020
Same here, that couch was awesome and Poo is such a great guy!
Oats sure is a legend.
Saw this live and came back just for the entertaining commentary
These hosts were amazing! Loved watching this - thanks to all the runners!
Commentators nonstop cracking up at everything was cracking me up. Great run, even better commentary
Top notch runners and top notch commentary ❤️ Not only informative, but also entertaining 👍🏻
cant wait to see metroid dread next year
The commentators are doing such a good job here! Loving you guys
Incredible race! GG to all the runners, commentators and all people behind the scenes! Thank you all!

These are the best commentators I've ever seen. Great run too!
Commentary was top notch!!! Great runs from everyone. Lots of laughs!
Oh man, what a race! And what an epic commentator duo! I missed half of the commentary because I was laughing at the other half.
Oats was just throwing for the content.
Amazing runs as always! Zeni was an absolute monster, and Behemoth was so close to stealing the win at the last moment! GGs to all three runners!
My god! I don’t know what was more enjoyable, the race itself with the highest level of gameplay or the amazingly hilarious commentary!
commentary for this run was fantastic and the run itself, beautiful

38:25 Legendary bit of commentary. Curse you, Netflix!
HockeyTowner is my favorite commentator and holy crap Zeni is an amazing runner
I loved your cheeky commentary gents!
Nice race, great commentary, loved the interviews!
The commentary was amazing, great run y'all
Super Metroid related runs are always my favorite to watch. Be it vanilla SM, SM Impossible, or the SM/LoZ Link to the Past item randomizers. I love them all.
This was an amazing run. The commentary was hilarious! Great stuff.
Been waiting for this video to drop on UA-cam. Glad it finally did.
Love this commentary!!
One of my favorite games. This will be fun. It took me hours to learn the tuck roll you need to get the super missiles early.
The commentary of this is such a glorious disaster. I love it!
My favorite speedrun. I remember the epic 4 way speedrun a few years back. Hands down my favorite game to watch speedrunners.
Legendary commentary. My sides because of 'teletubby huggy' 😂
this GDQ run will never be surpassed in terms of number of references to Jean Tripplehorn
My fav speed run of GDQ, phenomenal runs. Every runner killed it, absolute thrill to watch this, can’t wait til next time
Great run, extremely fun commentary. Good stuff!
I have no idea what they commentators are even talking about half the time, but it's fun listening to them ramble on about nothing lol
Spoilers!!!
The hosts were amazing. Hearing a weird buildup followed by an amazing joke paying off and making the other host lose it was greatA
Excellent job by Zeni. I will always respect OatsNGoats for his Metroid Impossible run. All extremely talented runners.
I'm just here for that Samus Expert Master technique 32:37
This was awesome. Great job all around!
The commentary on this run is impeccable, the same level of charisma and chemistry as 2 legendary sports commentators in the booth together. Everyone's just having a good time. :)
That moment where the routes converge 45 minutes in and they're within a door load of each-other is unreal

these hosts absolutely rule hahaha, loving this run
16:12 7 health. Getting drained. Behemoth don't care!
incredible runners, incredible commentary.
Hell yeah, stoked to see Super metroid again especially as a race
Great to see oatsandgoats there too
35:00 I love how the item pickups sync up perfectly here
A fun watch full of magic pancakes!
Awesome - love the super Metroid speed runs .
I was rooting for Behemoth. All these runners are amazingly talented and way better than I could ever be.
Great commentary guys! Funny and talking about what is on screen! 😄👍🏼
That came down to a few frames in the final descent pre-baby, then the missed baby skip really hammered it in for Behemoth.
These commentators really sound like they're covering marathon on CBS or NBC for real.
16:09 I don't know a lot about Super Metroid speedruns, but Behemoth worried me a lot here XD
Amazing run guys!
Quality Crisp.
Legendary game, legendary speed runners. Love it
My favourite runners... AND hockey!
Yoooo 51:25
Behemoth was just behind Zeni the whole time after the Kraid Missile pickup.
Such a fun run to watch and listen to. So much positive energy from all involved
Samus Expert master... 😁
Love the video game races. Also Oats is my Metroid guy so gotta watch it.
46:28 Anyone else see Behemoth screen wrap for a second?
OATS!

Lol Ridley 'space pelican'
30:33 "Magic pancakes!" BURP
I played a lot of Super Metroid. Then, you see these three playing and realize you actually barely played it compared to them. Amazing run.
The Tellytubby huggy!
Delightful. Oats with that hot 46 exit
16:09 Behemoth just a few frames away from death. 😅
I understand the game can be quite finicky at giving your that e-tank.
Great commentators!
Commentators should have a podcast about speedrunning. Hilarious.
32:35 whats the actual name of the strat?
Samus EXpert MASTER
Fun run to watch, and heres oats in 4th with a new pb =D
And we never find out what Hockey's control scheme is cause the question gets downplayed in the beginning...
Good stuff!
D e e R F o r C e
Amazing!
Sephy is the best host ever hahahaha
that Teletubbie Huggy 😂
Woo! Go Zeni!
D E E R F O R C E

Ridley will, from here on out, be known as a space pelican. ua-cam.com/video/ucwaN2bbwLU/v-deo.html
