Makes me laugh seeing all these people arguing over HLL and SQ44. I've put close to 130 hours in to HLL in the last month and have loved every second of it, met new friends and have had a friendly experience with the community. Today I picked up Squad 44 cheap and I'm looking forward to checking it out, if I like it then I'll spread my time across both, if not I'll keep my eye on future updates and play HLL in the meantime whilst the devs cook. There's room for both games to grow and flourish with healthy communities guys, cmon.
I have only a couple hours in but so far my only real actual issue game design wise I really have with S44 is when being suppressed your aiming randomly teleports around which is super frustrating. In normal squad you just a ton of sway which is hard to fight against but doable with some skill so you’re able to atleast fire in the general direction back. But in S44 you basically have to fight against instant teleportation which is basically impossible. Other than that it is a lot more run and gun compared to modern squad but not necessarily a downside.
I like the visibility aspect of this game. I can't see anything in Hell Let Loose and can't move either without getting KIA's. I spent too much time staring at grass and waiting for my headshot.
Ironheart, let's be blunt since you have 1k hours in HLL, how is the pace conoared to HLL? Looking at streams/ clips PS feels considerably slower and a clunkier. I really hope PS will grow and push HLL to improve, but after playing the original Squad i feel quite bored mid round, and maybe missjudged PS to be similar as it started as a Squad mod initially...
If you like Hell Let Loose you should like Squad 44. Pacing and time spent away from the action really boils down to the quality and quantity of spawn placements. If nobody builds garrisons and your squad outpost is miles away from the objective the pacing of HLL feels bad, some say ‘walking simulator’. The same is true of Squad 44. But if your team know what they are doing and build FOBs, place MSPs and rallies across the map then you will also enjoy Squad 44.
Really random but I feel using automatic weapons in this game is a lot harder than hll. Just the recoil and reduced range I feel they have. Ig it’s better balance than then them being cross map snipers like the STG in hll.
Squad 44 isn't all that realistic. Otherwise a Tiger or Panther would one-hit every Sherman, and you wouldn't have to shoot at them 3-6 times, that looks so ridiculous in the game!
@@brendonaldson8056 yeah that bs not only many youtuber make content the game itself get new update pretty often and they improve alot and the player base grow from 200 to 1500 on avarage in a day and it keep going up there is 4 server always full
@@TheJimyyy oh wow 4 servers lol. My guy this crap is all over UA-cam and has been for over a week. It’s paid spam at this point. I understand why. New dev bought a dead game and must push it. But it was a bad investment. People are not going to it. Old game bad price and mostly dead is not a good investment of money or time.
Realistic? Hardly. They keep simplifying the game more and more over time. Making you attack only a single point at a time (with a very few map exceptions), removing rally countdown, removing entire radioman kit, removing logistics capabilities and so on. Post Scriptum is dead. This is only it's corpse, wearing fancy new coat. Squad 44 is just WW2 CoD with a few extra steps.
this game looks like shit, ill be the first to say. HLL looks amazing and has been an amazing game, if it just implemented more specific guns and maps it would far exceed this game. i played this game on the 4090 and still wasnt that impressed
Sigh.... "Squad 44 is a realistic WW2 shooter "masterpiece" " Except,... it's really not. I mean come on, can we step outside the obvious shine job here, please? Sure S44 is a good game that should be played. Just like HLL, they both should be. But can we please stop with the "saying things on the internet that we all know aren't true in hopes that people won't actually think about it and just comply" please? Yes, S44 graphics and atmosphere are intense- However, the running animations and so many other character animations are awkward and clunky. The absolute bottom line IMHO: They are both good games that should be enjoyed by the WW2 FPS community, BUT.. (that's an awful big but you have there ;) ) They should be combined and redone in Unreal Engine 5. And finally, here is my own shine job, IronHeart Gaming is my go-to WW2 creator because of the theme music and hilarious videos, keep it up mate! You're the best!
You’re right all games can have elements of immersion and realism but inevitability they all have shortcomings. But I do stand by the notion that Squad 44 / Post Scriptum is a masterpiece, it doesn’t mean it’s flawless but it’s a bloody great game and quite underrated IMO. And thanks for your kind words about my channel, I really appreciate your support!
@@IronHeartGamingYT Let's agree that they are both masterpieces in their own right, flawed, but absolutely worthwhile for enjoyment. I also standby my belief that as a community we should be telling the devs what features and fixes from S44 and HLL we would want combined in the next gen offering. i.e. Mounted MG's on tanks and armor, Rifle grenades, Turn-outs on tanks, Ability to set up MG ANYWHERE (windows etc), Larger interiors that match character sizing, Both HLL and S44 have the 'body too big for the room, head above window frame' issue, (example upstairs windows in Russian houses on Kharkov map) Mortars, I could go on... ;)
you're describing some childish problems... the game feels and plays like a combat simulator. Hll feels plastic, like hardcore Battlefield servers. I was disappointed in HLL and very surprised by squad 44.

I find modern Squad a lot more daunting and harder to grasp lol. I have no idea what is going on in that game, but I’m a total noob with Squad.

Yeah the gunplay is more realistic in Squad44. It should be difficult to hit anything at range with automatic weapons.

Would be nice if they give kill count and more stats during in game like hll and not at end
I like the little surprise at the end and the chance to talk with the whole team on voice chat
The game is not about kill and stats so no
Graphics need to get better but the game is improving.
