We are so glad that John is cancer-free now and is getting better and singing and dancing around the house get we really believe that in Australia we need the John and Tom tour and they both need to come here and just blow the roof off this joint
Just run into this by accident . These 2 legends singing together and covering ACDC? I couldn't have wished a better end for this day. Thanks UA-cam!
This is as brilliant today as it was 28 years ago. 😃😃
" thanks bert for a amazing 👏 ❤️ repeat performances !" ( iconic " you 2 bert !" )
John Farnham was always in awe of Tom Jones when he was in his company. Both brilliant performing together.
Tom was also in awe of John and has said many times Farnham has one the best voices he had ever heard and was as close to technically perfect as possible. I saw them both live twice. 2 powerhouse voices.
I've seen both of these men live, humongous talents. Sad for John tonight, don't usually get sentimental but damn, what a good guy he is. Hope he recovers.
2 of the greatest voices on the planet
" molly 😍 loved it ❤️ too!" Laugh 😃 😀 😄 😁 🤣
Farnham all the way!!! What fucking great voice...
Stop comparing them. They are the best at what they each do, uniquely.
❤🦘🐨
@Artur Belo he's an equally fantastic singer.
Two vocal heavy hitters . People eating with their backs to the stage while history is being made . At least Bert Newton knew it was one of those moments in the history of man kind that will not be repeated and had the presence of mind and professionalism after decades in the industry to ask for an oncour . To which John felt it was outside of the rehearsed number and decided to hit the roof , I love John and I worship Tom .
And look at the smile on Berts face right at the end, a legend gone now.
EVERY woman in the crowd is squirming. LOVE IT!!
" well bless their " cotton socks !" " well john and tom 👏 👌 " blew the socks off everyone 2 great " icons 👏 !"
I think Tom has had longevity with his voice where as Farnham was at his peak around the mid to late eighties . Farnham is definitely the best singer I've ever heard. Both powerful in this performance though.
Fabulous ❤❤❤
That's Bert Newton dude - show respect!
5:29 - The look on Bert Newton's face...
He knew he was seeing *real* magic on the Logies podium that night.
Two beautiful voices....and they look like they enjoy each others gifts and company. Great job guys.
Never seen this before they both compliment each other
John Farnham and Tom Jones Amazing!!!! THE BEST!!!!
My goodness very uplifting got me out of the lounge chair dancing......
Two perfect voices........2 awesome talented guys......they sound great together!
Both of these singers give it everything, emotion, power and heart... an amazing combination.
Two of the greatest voices wasted.
As a massive AC/DC fan I've just stumbled across this at 5 am uk time another undiscovered gem from UA-cam's algorithm made a sleepless night worthwhile and some! Cheers Jim, Surrey, UK
So beautifully done! Their voices compliment each other so well and they did it so beautifully witho u t ever fighting for the limelight cos there's that mutual respect for each other. It's just beautiful to watch!
Tom is incredible ... unbelievable ... vocal power incarnate ... groove ... blues ... funky ... rocky ... everything ...
My favourite footage of these 2 together is the short clip of them on Hey Hey Its Saturday, doing red faces...they start singing togrther, its brilliant!
Two very powerful voices, well done.
These LADS tore it up!!!!
Dammmm....can it get better!!!
Best ever cover of the Acca Dacca classic! :)
These 2 would have buzzed each other out musically
I regret that I have but one like to give
One great Aussie and one great pommy work together and show even greater performances. Just great
Life Code John Farnham is actually a pom. He hails from Dagenham in Kent. :)
And Tom Jones is a welshman 🙆♀️🥰😘💖💙🌟😅
Dario Western yes John was born in the UK. Came to Australia when he was 10. He’s lived in Australia for 60 years, as he turned 70 this year. He legally became Australian citizen and has an OA, Order of Australia. He has always called himself an Australian. His nationality is cited as English Australian.
So we can both claim him as Our John 😁
@@julieegan1337 still British!
@@Pussycatfeathers As are many millions of us Aussies, my Mum born 1929 in Melbourne and Dad born 1926 also in Melbourne were considered British subjects. It wasn't until 1949 that Australians born here were considered Australian citizens. But they both considered themselves descended from the Irish and didnt like the poms much at all.
Wow , What a performance, I love Tom Jones and Janis Joplins duet also. Wow I love that performance, timeless
have to add Tom to bucket list.. before my foot hits it, loved that, damn brilliant.
These two ,No better nuff said
cant believe this was 1993soolong ago.
Absolutely brilliant!
Pretty much perfect.
WOW not only could John sing but what rythyim he had as a dancer
Jane Gilmore, loved your story mate. John Farnham what an Aussie Icon this bloke still is Tom Jones, What more can you say about these two
Two of the Best.
Just brilliant ! been to see John farnham a few times, love to see Tom Jones...
I was at the concert where these two were together. Tom Jones performed with his band, then John performed with his and finally they performed together. It was brilliant to say the least.
Fantastic 🎉🎉😂😂😂❤❤❤
Farnsey and his love of bagpipes! It's awesome! I wonder if he is/was the only artist in popular/mainstream music to use them. Whenever I hear them I always think of John.
The original by AC/DC featured bagpipes. It’s how the song was meant to be so, no John is not the only one, but I like that he does.
john is the best
RESPECT
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
John Farnham is great aswell.
Not a DRY seat in the house. Nice work boys!!
Are you saying everyone p*ssed themselves laughing?
Both legends
Love them both Omgosh….. This is GOLD !
Wow, what an amazing combinatios between those great singer. Not only singing but dancing as well. Just Bravo!!!
Talent right there
Wow! I'm impressed! Awesome stuff! xxs
Oh my Lord!
What a brilliant use of the bagpipes! Tom, along with Sinatra and Elvis, are the three greatest singers ever-excluding opera.
I would add Steve Perry and Freddie to that list.
@@suzyfarnham3165 Well, my list was crooners, not bands. If we are talking bands we have to add, in addition to your two, Ian Gillian and Stephen Stills, as well as, David Clayton Thomas.
Absolutely the best voices ever!! Love this video !!
I was breastfeeding my daughter when I was watching this. My hubby said “ uhm ur wasting the baby’s milk and it’s flying everywhere LMAO “. I had the volume up so high he said it again when they stopped. I won’t tell the whole story but he didn’t like milk in his eye LOL 😆
John and Tom had met each other when he come over for the first time. Tom Jones ( even to this day) gets shocked when he hears John sing that he has invited John to travel with him many times.
Now we have the likes of Chris Martin coming to Australia and wanted HIS idol on the stage with him. You see John keeps retiring because he thinks he’ll be stuck with Sadie and raindrops. Chris Martins first album was whispering Jack. Look it up it will also give u chills when John realises that the much generation also know his songs. He had to quickly run off the stage he was so emotional and Chris follows and this is now not in the 80s He has never let Australia down even with his idol Tom Jones wanted him to move over there. You would be amazed of who John has sung with. I love our John. 😘
Jane Gilmore 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Its not about, Out doing one another, there range's of there vocals ie tenor and strong lead both compliment one another, its how one uses it to compliment the song, harmonizing in sink with one another to bring the best out,of one another is the key to a great musician, both great Artist in there own right!
they cant outdo eachother because they are both mega!!!!!
Where is the sink?
Walkin' down the highway
Goin' to the shops
Stopping on my way
Playin' in the park
Gettin' robbed
Gettin' stoned
Gettin' beat up
Broken boned
Gettin' had
Gettin' took
I tell you friends,
It's harder than it looks
It's a long way to the shop
If you wanna sausage roll
It's a long way to the shop
If you wanna sausage roll
If you think it's easy eatin' all your food
Try goin' without a sausage roll
It's a long way to the shop
If you wanna sausage roll
No food, no food
Make you wanna cry
Lady don't sell none
Don't know the reason why
Gettin' hungry
Gettin' pains
Gettin' told off
Under-fed
Gettin' pissed off
Scavenging
That's how it goes
Having no food
It's a long way to the shop
If you wanna sausage roll
It's a long way to the shop
If you wanna sausage roll
If you wanna eat tonight
Look out it's dark all right
It's a long way to the shop
If yoou wanna sausage roll
Excellent!
I Love It!
I Love You! ❤️
Holy smokes!
Love them both
of all time
🤯unbelievable.
OMG. Love this!!!!
Man stastic
Priceless 🎉👍
Makes you want to dance
I am a Brit and supporter of Tom Jones but have to say that Farnham out performs him!
well, remember that John Farnham is actually also a Brit, born and raised until he was 10 yrs old, he actually has both nationalitys.....i think John could out perform anyone basically, but they both have mega voices, very powerful.
Genial 👍
Klasse
well them damn lyrics.....
No son de este planeta!
Long live Accer-Daccer
Haha love the description thanks.
Lyrics
It’s a Long Way to the Top
AC/DC
… Ridin' down the highway
Goin' to a show
Stop in all the byways
Playin' rock 'n' roll
Gettin' robbed
Gettin' stoned
Gettin' beat up
Broken-boned
Gettin' had
Gettin' took
I tell you, folks
It's harder than it looks
… It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll
It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll
… If you think it's easy doin' one night stands
Try playin' in a rock roll band
It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll
… Hotel, motel
Make you wanna cry
Ladies do the hard sell
Know the reason why
Gettin' old
Gettin' grey
Gettin' ripped off
Underpaid
Gettin' sold
Second hand
That's how it goes
Playin' in a band
… It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll
It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll
… If you wanna be a star of stage and screen
Look out, it's rough and mean
… It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll
It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll
… It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll
It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll
… Well it's a long way
Well it's a long way, you should've told me
It's a long way
Such a long way

Looks like Ricky Gervais older brother giving the introduction.
im a aussie but its hard to beat tom.
To can do anything
stiff crowd .. but tom and john rock
Spellbound might be a more appropriate way of putting it. One of the top moments on Aussie TV.
2 stars
Fuck that was good
Regarding the latter part of your statement: I would have disagreed more, had it been possible
Double Trouble alert!!
How isn’t the crowed going wild???
Who filmed it. Focus on tables, really.
It's strange looking at this now. I never noticed years ago, but Tom Jones actually looks a little uncomfortable compared to John, who just looks like he's having the best time ever (like always). He looks like he get's more comfortable more into the song. But I wonder why he looks so apprehensive at the beginning...🤔
Tom is more "polished" (as in he has had time to perfect performances over the years).... John is more raw..... the biggest measure of "power" in the voice, is the distance between mouth and microphone..... Farnham has the better reach (vocally)... the further from the microphone your mouth the "stronger" (so the experts say) and more powerful the voice. John wins this easily... a good guide for "microphone/mouth distance" technique is Elvis Presley singing "American Trilogy" .... check out the distance from mouth to microphone on that.... *disclaimer* I do not pretend to be a vocal expert, I am merely repeating what I've read both from a technical point of view (text books) as well as just enjoying music :)
Almost everything you said is wrong lol
Sparky Tiger They both had a ball singing together. They both admire and respect each other.
Tom Jones wouldn’t sing with just anyone, he certainly doesn’t need the exposure. If Tom never sang again, which of course he will, He could sit on his laurels world wide as an amazing singer and performer. But Tom chose to sing with John. No one could force Tom to sing with anyone he didn’t think had wonderful talent. John was so humbled and in awe of Tom. I loved the way Tom was honestly smiling at John when he sang and visa versa. Did you notice at the very end when they hugged, John whispered “ Thanks Mate”
They both loved what the did together on stage. . So why don’t we just be happy for both of them. That’s what they both deserve.
Sparky Tiger oh, by the way. That wasn’t a one off performance. They both toured together.

John Farnham is just squeeking and squeeling... Tom Jones is far superior.
John Farnham is a Pom isn't he and Tom Jones is Welsh from memory?
and Burt Newton's son is Darrell Sommers
....and he looks like Ricky Gervais older brother.
You people have gotta be shittin me!!! Tom Jones may be a legend, but Farnham outclasses him vocally in every possible way. Get your keyboard out a check some the notes sung here for a start. JF is one of the best, no question!!
Farnsie has a nice voice, but Tom Jones just blows him off the stage...
never ever!!!!
I thought John sounded better.
I respect Johns "tip of the hat" & respect for Tom but,... John buries Tom in my opinion :)
No Farnham has a high voice nothing else. No deep and powerful stuff only high. No chance against Tom! Ofc depends on the song which fits better....But honestly to say a guy who only sings high is blowing someone off the stage? Oh oh oh
Tom has a richer deeper tone, Farnham has the range. Tom is a Baritone and Farnham a tenor. No point comparing the two.
What are you talking about????? One is a Baritone - the other a Tenor. Both with big voices. They were working together - not competing.
Did I say they were competing!!?? No.
I was responding to Godmax, not you Sehnaz. I acknowledged your comment by liking it.
Hey fellas it's music it's meant to make us happy so be kind .
