- The Sultana, upon waking up the next day, continued:

...At the end of a year, the forty ladies wept and said goodbye to me, saying only that they would be away for forty days and that they would give me the 100 keys to the 100 doors of the castle, but that I could not open the golden door, because if I did we would never see each other again...
Scheherazade wanted to continue, but dawn prevented her. The Sultan, curious to know what the calandar would do alone in the castle, postponed the execution of Scheherazade until the next day.
And so ends the sixtieth night.
