Love this rifle and haven’t had any issues at all with it. Got it two months ago and have shot over 65 squirrels in that time. I’ve found the Gamo rocket pellets to be the best for this rifle and for squirrels. Not very interested in the FPS as long as it kills squirrels with one shot. This is a very good hunting rifle. Starting to think there are 2 versions of the gen 2 Swarm Maxxim 22 cal. An early one with a sub 1000 fps with alloy pellets, 925 or 975 on the box. Mine is months old and said 1000 fps with alloy pellets. With any of the crossman premier pellets regardless of weight, I get a fairly stable 17 Ft LBS. Same with most of the Gamo and Ruger pellets. The only surprise is the Gamo Red Fire which gets a consistent 18 Ft Lbs. They seem softer which may give a better seal. Have yet to find any alloy pellet to try and get anywhere near the advertised 1000.
I shot my Gamo Maxiim yesterday for the first time. The scope won't focus no matter what I do. The 2-stage trigger doesn't work, and that pisses me off. Also, it's extremely difficult to cock. Of course, I'm 75 and don't have the strength of younger guys. I figure I'll get stronger as I keep using the rifle. It's pretty accurate at 25 yards. I bought it just to plink around on our 4.5 acres. Gives me a way to pass time in my old age.
I replaced the scope that came with it with an OMMO 3 x 9 x 40 scope that you can get off of Amazon for $29.99 and it’s a very clear scope and good for a 22 break barrel rifle. The scope that comes with the Gamo maxxim isn’t worth anything. That’s the thing with break barrels they do take a lot of strength to cock. You may want to look into PCP air rifles, but it’s a bigger money investment to use PCPs because you need a scuba tank, a compressor or a scuba shop to fill the tank and then the rifle itself Plus a good scope and a bipod if you want one.
Man.. My 22 whisper gen 1 2019 model works great.. It has been a great plinker.. And squirrel slayer.. Im the same as this UA-camr you speak of. I opened up the rear and stuffed it full of non lead pellets (because they wont deform shaking),emergency fishing kit, lighter, knife, flashlight and an eye dropper of oil... Yes.. I too am a prepper.. Wouldn't think twice about it as a survival rifle.. Now.. Get yer butt to the Walmart and buy as much canned and long term foods you can afford, get candles,a good camp set-up,plenty of pellets.. There is a storm coming, and its just beginning... I know you're seeing the shortages, the unrest.. The political polarization.. Gooooo.... Why are you still reading this... Go Get prepared!!! Now! God... I sound like my parents... Oh... And get some solar.. Even a cheap Chinese one off ebay... I like the green lunchbox looking one... Gives great light
It’s still a 3 x 9 x 40, but it has a better reticle, it is also an illuminated reticle in green or red, and the glass is much much more clearer. It’s also MOA 1/4 clicks just like the swarm scope. The swarm scope has just a very very basic reticle.
You should do another video with alloy pellets and maybe just various pellets because rifling is different for every gun and these Maxxims like those alloys for medium to close range I got really nice pentration but with the cheaper stuff I got pretty low pentration on steel and other things so I figure its going alot slower id love to see it nice video !
For survival the simpler the better. Lose the magazine and your screwed. Gamo claims 19 fpe. My hatsan shoots those pellets at 780 fps. Gamo piston seals are always bad. I for survival i would choose the crosman shockwave in .22 its just a Benjamin prowler with iron sights incase the scope craps out and my prowler would get 735 fps with those pellets and was very accurate.
They test using pba ammo, its lighter and much faster than lead but sucks for hunting since it does not have the expansion that lead does and does not carry the energy like lead.

Been cutting through small game clean shots holes with the simple 7.9gr. Hollow Points.....I have the .177 Swarm Maaxim
You must have a squirrel infestation.

I’m averaging around 740 in mine with 14.3. Could be the factory oils still dieseling though.
That’s true.
My magnum 22 is 761 fps with 14.3 's.

@@airgunsusa4362 -- You convinced me. I just ordered the OMMO scope from Amazon. It had many very positive ratings. Thanks.
You’re welcome! Happy shooting!
That's good shooting freehand...
Air rifle ambassadors thanks guy
Thanks, You’re welcome!

You’re definitely sold out! We have a lot of canned food and an emergency bag, but nothing like you’ve got! You’re ready!!!
PANIC KILLS!
Nice review. How is that scope different from the stock 3-9 x 40 that came with the swarm?

Stock scope has a fixed parallax of 25 yards. Mine is pretty clear. Staying with stock.

My Gamo pellets fall right in. I use my thumb. N they shoot hole in hole at 25yrds. Match wadcutters 22 hunter swarm
Yes, it is a good break barrel.
What is the chronograph device you are using?
Fx Radar Chronograph…Doppler Radar. You can buy it on Utah Airguns and other places
I'm learning if the handle is a green band that's for target shooting and the red band is for hunting?
I don’t remember exactly, mine has a green band on it and I think that’s for hunting, pesting and/or plinking.
No green is a .22 and red is .177
Thanks
Does it have front and rear sites ? If want to shoot without scope ?
It does not. You’ll need a scope or a red dot for this one.
Your looking for the Fusion, not the Maxxim.
They get easier to load after you've loaded it a few times

put a spare mag in the bottom of the grip..if you manage to loose 2 mags then you can single load this rifle just like a regular break barrel :)
True!
Nice video
Thanks
You test in the Chamber haha🤣WE sée you are much passionnante air rifle liké me
Yes!
Crosman mag-fire ultra is the better gun
Use lead-free pellets.
No.
