Thank you. It’s good that all the newly emerging VR cameras pass through your hands and this allows you to compare them in all respects. It’s good that the market for such cameras does not stop and is developing in different directions in parallel with the development of the market for VR viewing tools. This expands their accessibility and the circle of people interested in such creativity.
I am actually thinking of buying it as my Insta360OneX2 one of the lenses broke. but need to check if it's worth fixing first or buying the PanoX V2. Does the PanoX have active tracking?
Active GPS Tracking? Yes I believe this is the only camera has GPS tracking in this price range. It depends on what you do - this is more for GSV creators and people focus more on virtual tour instead of action 360 like X4.
Yes it does have active tracking.....if you mean tracking you as you move around the room when say streaming or talking to the camera. I've just got a reviewers panoxv2 so I can map my local park for our friends group, but learning that it does so much more!
Excellent review! Thank you again for all the time you spend creating those honest, lengthy and in-depth reviews. I was very curious to see the possibilities of this new little camera. Especially the standard integration of GPS seemed like a no-brainer to get this one as an affordable 'blue line' back-up camera. Good to hear an additional GPS device is still a must though. Also great tip regarding Mapillary and OpenStreetMap. We're so much used to Google Maps by default it's good to be remembered there's an alternative (with a lot of potential).
You spot my NEXT VIDEO lol. Crane M3S is the best gimbal to travel with on R5C - it is too small to get any security take me seriously (they just think I am a tourist), but powerful enough to hold R5C + a cable to charge it and even a small mic on top!!
Good day Hugh, how does the ethernet attach to the camera, I saw something about a special cable but see no other info on it or where to buy, is it through the usb and if so does that mean it cant be powered when going live? Thanks for the detailed info, keep up the good work
There are third party doggle with both power provider and ethernet and even Mic jet - I don't have it btw so I can provide what i use but their official group might be able to give you their recommandation.
Hugh, Thank you for this review. I am curious about the fan noise, especially since it is difficult to predict when the fan will start. It will also increase the battery drain. Also, will the product support RTMPS or RTMPE (which adds security)?
It support RTSP and SRT even for faster low latency stream with platform support it (like TikTok). The fan so far there is no control. It only kick in during livestream not normal use. And it kick in after 10-min use when the camera temp reach certain level.

It's a pity the builtin GPS is not precise. How to connect a pro GPS receiver like the Columbus P-10 Pro in the photo to a 360 camera? Which cameras can use external pro GPS like this one?
NO! It is not even splash proof - it has TWO big fans on the side to keep the camera cool during long hours 4K 360 livestream - it is really a livestream camera than anything else.
Yes, it has original fisheye so you can use all external stitcher like PTGui or Mistika VR to stitch. Can you explain GyroFlow workflow? What it need to get it to use to stabilize it? Last time I check GyroFlow does not support 360 camera at all...
It is at medium as Insta360 suggested. I found High will overly compressed the footage and create even worse result (for the comparison). Medium is the sweet spot if I don't want to do post and if I do post / edit, I always use LOW.
What is the minimum interval between full resolution 12K images . Have you checked this? 1s, 3s, 5s ? Does it actually work? Qoocam 3 deviates very much from their specifications on this subject, because with an interval of 1s the camera needs as much as 4.28 sec to save an image and take another one.
In current firmware, 12K interval is 5-second - I hope they can improve this as it is way to long. The 8K Timelapse video mode is not out yet. I hope this answer your question.
Thanks for another great review. I have tested the PilotPano and was very disappointed... Worst image quality than my Gopro MAX and no desktop software. Stitching in the camera and then downloading the files is simply unusable for me because I record classic Orchestra concerts between 1h30m and 2h. I think QooCam is the only company to put a fan in a dual lens 🌐360° (their 8K & 8K Enterprise), so maybe this is the QooCam Ultra because the picture shows vents that a fan could use.
😂don’t hold back now. To add one more thing but maybe an after market accessory, I’d like to see pitch black ND filters to capture true direct sunlight data for 3D render/lighting for those hard shadows. But these filters can be created for any 360 Cam. Just saying.
Hugh, you’re still da man. Love what you do. Thank you ✌️
I also agree! I hope camera makers are listening!
