This track sums up the genius of Halo 2’s storytelling. Before this track starts Tartarus screams orders to ‘seal the exits’ of the Council Chamber, because Master Chief has become so infamous the Covenant know the best they can hope for is to somehow contain him. Cortana replies ‘I don’t think so’ and unlocks the door, releasing Chief to go rampant in High Charity, to get full bloody revenge on the Covenant. Broken Gates was first played when the hunters burst through the gates on Outskirts, and is reprised here because it’s Chief who has broken through the gates. In the outside area Bungie designed it so you can absolutely rip the encounter apart with the carbine, a feat only Chief could do. This is gaming storytelling at the highest level, mixing music, dialogue and action perfectly.
You know we gamers don't notice it when we played but this level is a testament to the Chief's absolute badassery. He gets teleported into High Charity amidst the Prophets speech armed with nothing and through sheer luck and skill, he manages to fight his way through to the Forerunner Dreadnought.
CE and 2 are equal in soundtracks that's not even funny, both have this feeling that gives you goose bumps either scary or seeing alien ships and technology beyond humans level of understanding.
Our jounery through the Milky Way Galaxy was very hard to go through. We are currently losing Planet Earth of the Fall of Colonized Planet Reach and more. Our journey through the Milky Way Galaxy was met with a much stronger Great Journey.
Every Morning Before I Start My Run I Listen To This. I Set Up A Whole Scenario And Use My Environment To The Best Of My Abilities. Albeit Parkour, Running Or Just Climbing. And When I Tell You This Song Still Gets Me Through It As If I'm A Kid Playing Halo 2 For The First Time.
The background ambiance I know in the Original Camp you'd get to a point right before jumping down and you could just hear that. Not Broken Gates. Is there an Unreleased Version that just plays that?
Sometime in 2014. I haven't had much time to work on it, but it's slowly coming along. It'll be 18 tracks total. I'm currently working on #13. Once I finish all 18, I'll be making some final adjustments to each track and uploading them when done.

Thank you for the insight. I doubt I would’ve picked up on this.
Idk if that was even intentional or not, but man is that cool to think about.
That wasn't tartarus
I commend you for this erudite observation that even I, after years of analyzing the story and presentation of Halo 2, did not yet realize.
Chief & Cortana; humanity's rage unleashed on High Charity; the Outskirts of the Covenant Empire. 2 Hunters.
"Now the gate has been unlatched, headstones pushed aside. Corpses shift and offer room, a fate you must abide!"

This soundtrack just sounds like hope, strength, the Planet Earth home front, humanity's determination...
It was always crazy to me how in halo 2 it happens in Africa the mother land where we all came from here on earth
@@chrischris5239 technically thats not true but in halo lore it is
Truly superb. The Halo 2 OST is unsurpassed.
The Arx fatalis soundtrack is great but saying what you just said is a bit of a stretch.
XxCOOKIExX 87 no halo 2 is unsurpassed but has equals imo
CE and 2 are equal in soundtracks that's not even funny, both have this feeling that gives you goose bumps either scary or seeing alien ships and technology beyond humans level of understanding.
halo 2 was more divers, and it is equally good, but in many different ways, witch makes it better than ce
all halo soundtracks are unsurpassed*

Before the song starts there a very pleasing soft melody playing. Could be another ambiance track

benmarshall801 reminds me of when youtube was good
posts the best tracks. refuses to elaborate.
Just some awesome music while master chief beats the shit out of the covenant and brute
No se porque pero esta melodia es de mis favoritas, y esta por encima de todas las musicas q yo oigo
Halo 2's music is _so_ much better than H2A's
i also believe on that. but there some soundtracks that i can say that I preferer than the OG H2
@@Kman1523 yeah with some of the songs you can tell the quality is much more clean
follow in flight and genesong are the only two that are better than the original halo 2
neat!

+Jo Du Search the channel of TheRtas, it's there somewhere

What's the ETA for the ODST soundtrack?
Sometime in 2014. I haven't had much time to work on it, but it's slowly coming along. It'll be 18 tracks total. I'm currently working on #13. Once I finish all 18, I'll be making some final adjustments to each track and uploading them when done.
Why 18, the campaign wasn't that long?
benmarshall801 Also, how come you have access to the unreleased tracks from ODST when another guy I know can only access the released stuff?
***** Intro + Menus, opening cutscene, 8 level tracks, 7 tracks for the mombasa streets sections, credits + epilogue
***** I'm pulling the tracks directly from the game files.
You do realise that the Gravemind video you made for Halo 2 was taken down right? I suggest you re-upload a version without the blow me away section.
It's still up. Not sure what you're seeing.
+benmarshall801 everything except the armoury got taken down to copyright. I'm not sure if it's just me or if it affects everyone...
Could just be your country.
Where's the best music of this level (only the strongest will survive) you missed the best bit
Search up "Breaking Benjamin: Blow Me Away"
