Have had both side by side. On CW both are excellent. I eventually got a second ic-7610 and sold the K3. The filters I felt were better on the 7610. But for travel the K3 is super. Both have good ssb tx audio with slight edge to K3. AGC and QSK cw for the 7610 is great too. Agree the elecraft is harder to configure or use. Dual receiver is an expensive add on to the K3. The auto tuner is also an option.
First thank you for sharing both radios. The Icom is a SDR and that is most familiar with for me and the Elecraft is basically a super heterodyne with a bass band ADC. I have three HF radios one is the FT891 with 3 mixer and not a quiet as your two. The other two are Elecraft with one being the KX2 I just love and the second is the K4D with dual receive and I am still learning. It is amazing and can handle anything I can throw so far. I think we both have good radios to play with.
Thank you for commenting and those are some fantastic transceivers. I have the KX2 also and used it for POTA. I think it's receiver is as good if not better than the 7300, but don't hole me to it, hihi. Great to hear from you again and hope to hear you on the air. Best wishes this holiday season and 73!
Hello, this is K0SSD in Hecla. I didn't know you had a UA-cam channel I liked your video on the 7610, I also have one and I am still working out all the INS and outs thanks for your help.
Hi Tim! There's the other SD station! HIIHI. Thanks for commenting and the 7610 is a fantastic transceiver. I am getting it setup on a new computer and have a way to go until I get HDSDR and CWSkimmer running with the 7610. I still refer back to videos. Best holiday wishes and 73! de KØPIR
