Wonderful to hear and see the BB on BBC Songs of Praise. Certainly an old one from 2007 or earlier by the looks of it. Sad that the BB in the Western countries are on the decline unless there is a revival and wakening. Hope this time in history with the Covid shut down should make people think. people have traded their faith and values for modernity and money and entertainment. Not sure if an awakening will still help the BB in the West especially when spirituality is taking another direction into megachurches which do not want anything to do with parachurch organisations. There is an amazing growth of the BB in South East Asia and Asia generally. Not sure bout Africa. Thank God for it, the BB is growing in Philippines and Indonesia, Thailand, and Cambodia, etc. Not to say in the old British colonies of Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei where the Church and BB is strong and helping the rest of Asia. Look to Asia to keep the BB tradition. I live in Australia and the BB is in the decline much so because the Ministers and pastors do not see value in it and it is difficult to put resources into the BB and GB to keep it running when lots of the churches themselves are declining. No doubt the new evangelical churches are growing but for some reason they are not interested.
Have you found it yet? If not, I'll do one for you. That takes me right back to Cabin Boys, when my great aunt, who was one of the leaders, used to bash it out on the piano for us to sing. Happy days!
It's a shame I can't edit your language. Anyway, if the BB groups (or corps?) are being TOLD they have to accept girls, then that is madness of the highest order. It's called the Boys Brigade for goodness sake! The country's gone loopy.
Interestint comment. I've heard from two people recently involved in different Girls Brigades who are furious at being told they have to merge with the Boys Brigade. They're livid (one is a parent whose girls attend GB). What on EARTH is going on, this seems like madness.
