Hi. After re-watching the video on UA-cam, I forgot to mention that to prevent creasing when using rubber bands; you can place your book or papers between something more sturdy like chipboard.

Hi Nicole, first thanks for your videos about this equipment, it was extremely helpful with other problems I had!
I had this problem with the angle of the blade when going down, I searched UA-cam for almost 1 day and I didn't find anything about it, finally I stopped in front of the guillotine and went to observe calmly and I came to the following conclusion... do the following test: lower the blade but do not touch the red base, swing the big lever towards the front and bottom of the guillotine and observe if the blade moves back and forth too, in my case the blade was moving which explains the change in the blade angle when using many sheets and using more force. The solution I found was to eliminate this slack, for that,
on the back I loosened the screw that is in the middle of the 3 screws that hold the lever,
I tightened this screw from the front of the lever (it can't be too much so as not to block the lever's descent, keep tightening and testing)
and re-tightened the screw from the inside.
Hope it works for you! 🤞
    Greetings from Brazil! 🙂👋

Hi👋🏾. Sorry, I can now respond to your comment.
First, thank you for sharing such a detailed and helpful comment.
OMG, I did an initial test and noticed a bit of slack!!
I will have to try adjusting the tightness and see if it eliminates that change in the angle cut.
Once we settle into our new school year, this is top of my list to try.
I will let you know if it works out for me too. ☺️
      Thanks for watching!

I've been looking for a solution to this problem for a long time and I just got a guide with what you said. Could you confirm if you solved that diagonal cut problem? Greetings from Chile. Need help about this

Get your husband to create an angled back block or stop bar to match the angle of the blade cut and you will have perpendicular cuts. So he should rip-cut a block at an angle of 4mm on a 1" thick timber.

Hi. Yeah, I was wondering if that would work. But didn't want to mention it till I tried it. Great idea! Thanks for the suggestion and for watching!

Hi Paola. Two videos I made in the past may help.
In this one ---> ua-cam.com/video/YIFWl7hFv2s/v-deo.html around 8:24 in the video, I realigned the blade on my machine.
In this video ---> ua-cam.com/video/3GuFbWj23MY/v-deo.html, someone wasn't getting their paper projects to cut all the way through, and I was able to adjust the cutter to help with that issue starting around 9:13 in the video.
Hopefully, one of those can help you with fixing your machine:)
Also, someone left a great suggestion in the comment section of this video. One, I am still hoping to get time to try soon, but it's a great idea to solve the cuts not being straight.
      Thanks for watching!

Hi. I would like to know if you recommend this cutter. I am looking to buy a paper cutter and trying to decide which one. I appreciate your opinion. Gene

Hi Gene:) In short yes. I have never regretted buying the machine. Despite a little needed mentainance. I also made a short talking video in response, going into a bit more detail as it would be easier than a long comment. It should be up later today. Thank you for your question and for checking out the video!

ua-cam.com/video/UjlEPnl6aYk/v-deo.html Starting at about 4:10, this book binder talks about not overtightening the hold down clamp. Maye that will help?

Now seeing your link to this video. For some reason, UA-cam held it for review. Will check it out. Thanks!
