Just an FYI. Main turrets do not get assigned damage. Main turret are not upgrades. The defender must assign damage to one of its upgrades, and must continue assigning damage to that upgrade until it has taken 2 damage, at which point it is disabled. Also the Huduth upgrades each get +1 for damage for Hardened. So the Huduth would take 6 damage to be destroyed. Hardened: Upgrades take +1 damage to be disabled. But keep up the BR's. FTL needs more Batreps.
If you're going to do it solo, make sure you have good mission objectives. I just kind of winged it for this episode. The other episodes will be more defined objectives. That really helps with knowing what each side is going to do.
44:30 "if you have a game you'd like me to try out let me know in the comments" I'm loving the One Page Rules videos. I'd love to see an overarching campaign using all the systems- where you are presented with a galaxy map, you roll up some conflicts on the map, "Alien hives are attacking the empires forge planet of T'kar. A dwarf fleet is invading sector 9, this gets them dangerously close to our homeworld. Commander, we don't have resources for both missions, it's up to you to decide where to send the empire's resources" So, you can then use GDF rules to fight alien hives or FTL rules to fight dwarves. Then, you deal with the consequences and let the story unfold from there. I'm not sure how you'd incorporate Age of Fantasy into this story though. But, I'm very invested in Josephine's story! Other than that, While I despise the company that publishes it, Five Parsecs from Home is actually a really good solo system I've been playing. I'd recommend it.
Oh man!!! FTL: Forge Fathers are attacking the system. The HDF is defending against them. But, what the HDF don't know about...Alien Hives have infiltrated down into the under hives. The workers are fighting against the aliens. Do this with GFF. I don't really want to do any GF. If I did those, it would be me and my other daughter playing. She does Toa and I do Robot Legions. I like where this is going.... As for bring in AoF too...I think I'll pass on that. I like to keep the two "universes" separate. I've played the 5P system for years. I like it, but I guess I just became disillusioned with 3rd Edition. Yes, I can play the older versions, but just not sure about doing that.
How would you compare this to Battlefleet Gothic? And how easy do you think it would be to replicate the fleets/ships of BFG factions like GDF does for 40k?
That's a good question that my friends have asked. I haven't play BFG in decades. But, from what I remember, FTL has ways to mimic BFG. I remember using order dice with BFG. You can do the same thing in FTL.
May I please clarify the base size of board for this? My dining table is only 3' wide and I try to confine myself to 3x3' games, but if the extra width is really worthwhile then I'll compromise :)
44:26 "maybe I'll try two cameras at some point." I love this idea! my all time favorite battle report is from a channel called GFN Gaming. the episode that is my favorite is "OnePageRules - GF- FireFight - Robot Legions VS Battle Brothers - Learn Along Battle Report" That being said, I don't know if two cameras and heavily editing your videos makes sense for your channel. Watching your channel is almost voyeuristic. It feels very personal like we have hacked into the live feed of your eyeballs. I'm not sure the increased production value would be worth your time, energy, and effort? will it lead to more views? do you care if it does? to me- It's your style. while I'd love to see two cameras, animations, etc. but, I'd rather you not get burnt out and decide it's not worth the effort anymore. more frequent personal videos beats less frequent polished videos- in my opnion.
Good point. I think I'll stick to just one camera right now. As it is, it takes about twice as long to edit a video compared to the content length. Adding another camera would add a lot more editing time.
So great to see a solo FTL game. Thank you for the video and effort. Love to see more.
Thanks. I hope to make more soon.

this was my first FTL battle rep : ) Very exciting!
I was wondering if turrets can get damaged or not. I was going to ask about that. Glad you already clarified it for me.
Love that battle mat. Looking at putting together a little fleet.
Give it a go and let me know what you think of it.
woohoo! the new video dropped! I'm excitedly watching.
Hope you enjoyed it! Let me know what you think.
@@clandaith it took me a while, loved it! Thanks again for making it. Your teaser was really great and the final product was too!
First! Been wanting to play this for years but haven't gotten someone to do so with me. Gonna follow in your footsteps and try a solo game!

Errors I've noticed:
1. You forgot to shoot the Vector Cannon of the second ship.
2. The gyro accelerator got destroyed, so it shouldn't have shot.
Thanks for catching that. I also need to start using the new released rules.

It's a 4' x 4' table. But, if you halve the ranges, you could easily fit on a 3' x 3'.
Where are the forgefather ships from?
They are from Dropfleet Commander. They are Resistance ships.
Are those ship unit sheets in the rulebook? If not, where did you find them?
No. I just made them. Here's a link to the sheet: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AFgGDFgmHR3cbpFL57K3wHt_ruTz35-duDTQJQl8sjM/edit?usp=sharing
lol. that's a funny story about your daughter.
Yup. She hated hearing it when it was all done.
