Hi Stevie, no this won't work with a Qashqai. The buttons are automatically programmed whan the chip is coded in. So I would guess there is an issue with the key itself. Hope this helps

Perhaps I turned the key too slowly, but your method didn't work on the Almera Tino N16 I tried it on. This is was what worked: - With all doors unlocked (boot unlock may not be possible if no remote, I don't know) - Key in ignition, quick turns between On and Off -- all the way back and forth !!pretty quickly!! 6 times (6x) and remove key - Car flashes its amber direction lamps - Hold unlock button (open padlock icon) and simultaneously press the lock (closed padlock icon) button 3 times (3x) - Key back in ignition to On - Done!

Worked but i had directly had to use the faulty key instead of first the good key. press the unlock button and press 3 times the lock button while holding the unlock button

Hi Andy, no the key buttons are coded automatically when the transponder chip is coded. If the key starts the car it will work on the buttons. If not, there is either an issue with the key, or the car

Hi Dee, the central locking needs to work from the door lock. It should lock and unlock the whole car. If this doesn't work, I don't think you'll get the buttons to work
I am glad to see this tip worked for all. Unfortunately I didn't to me. I have a 2009 Nissan Qashqai and both my key fobs are not working. I replaced the batteries and tried these steps several times but had no joy. I guess I will have to go to the garage afterall. Any other tips and tricks are much appreciated.

Hi Dineth, they are getting expensive now. I would find a local Auto locksmith. The chip inside the key needs coding with a computer, so you'll need the help of someone who can do this
Hello, I expect your Almera is on the later style of key. It looks the same but the remote is coded automatically when the chip is. This needs to be done with a computer.

Hi, if the doors unlock as soon as it locks, it's usually because the car thinks one of the doors is open. This is very common and would explain what you're seeing

Hello Chaturanga, if the lights flash 6 times you are doing it correctly. If the car then does not detect your key, maybe there is a problem with the key?
Yes, I tried. When I do it six times, lights doesn’t blink, but driver panel make a double tick sound. If the error is on the key, then I can get a replacement key and get it program. I just noticed when I use the drivers manual lock, central locking system locks all keys. Once I use the switch in the drivers door(with window sign) it lock all doors except drivers, but unlocks all at once. So little confused if this error is on the locking switch or on the control unit of the remote. 🤔

Long shot but I'll ask anyways 🙃 got the same key for my 2006 350z. I've tried every video to program the key and nothing. I've also changed the battery in the fob and still nothing. Hi Anthony, well you must be doing the procedure correctly. Do you know for sure that both keys have good batteries? I normally run the car for a minute before programming, just to charge the car battery

I messed up the procedure I held unlock but got confused and thought it was hold lock for 3 seconds instead of press 3 times Now I can't really begin the produce because previously when 1 key worked when I'd press lock to start it the security light would flash rapidly while I did the 6 times. It doesn't do that now (that's kinda how I knew it was working )
Car key man youve helped me before. Just bought primera 2007. Has 2 keys. Both will start the engine but neither will lock the car. Guy replaced the battery. But even the emergency manual lock on passenger door only locks that door. Am I in trouble?
Hi, the K12 Mira is a different car altogether. On the K11 and other older Nissan cars, the transponder function is separate to the remote central and this will work. However the K12 car was one of the first to go over to a combined chip. This means that when the key is programmed, the buttons will automatically work, there isn't a trick to programme in the buttons. Has it ever worked?

Ok, so changing the key battery will not help you. Inside the key is a green circuit board that has a chip built into it. This chip is detected by the car before it will start. This has nothing to do with the buttons on the key. So either the chip is becoming unreliable, which happens, or there is a problem with the car

Thanks for the reply. I purchased a spare original Nissan key and a new key blade. So with the Nissan Note, is it not possible to sync the fob central locking without re-coding the immobiliser chip? (I have purchased a separate transponder chip from an auto locksmith, who added it to my key fob case).
Ok, so with your vehicle, there is not a manual proceedure to code in teh remote. When the immobiiser chip is programmed, the buttons will just automatically work.
Ok Great. this is for the fob, but is there a manual method for programming a new key+transponder? i think using 2 existing keys and pressing the break/ accelerater in some comb?? any help and advice thanks ;-)
Hi Graham. For all UK vehicles the transponder chip has to be coded using diagnostics. The brake /accelerator method is only used in old Toyota and Lexus cars, sorry

Works perfect when you hold the unlock button and press lock button 3 times. Not clear in the video . Only tried this way because he was holding the key with 2 hands. Apart from that thanks great video
Hi Michael, I would put new batteries in and take them to s shop to see if they are transmitting a signal. High street key cutting chains normally have a machine that will test the key to see if it's sending out a signal

@@TheCarKeyMan yh it stops working every now and then and randomly starts working again. Changing batteries doesn't make any difference either when it decides to stop
just done my 2005 terrano 2 and it took about 4 attempts to get it right but got there in the end, also i only have 1 key and when i changed the battery in the key it wouldnt open. maybe try pushing the buttons faster before the indicators flash twice?

I have solve the issue...its so embarrassing....i had unplug the wires from the rearview mirror because i plan to tint the windshield however it seems like this wire is a ground for the antenna. I plug the mirror back in and the remote started working 🙂👍

So it sounds like the car is going into programming mode. Do the hazards flash after pressing the key buttons?

Hello Rakesh, I expect it is the key. If you have two keys and one of them works, then maybe your other key needs testing to see if it is transmitting

If you take the key out of teh ignition, after a while the key light flashes red to show the immobiliser is set

Same happened to me but i just managed to get it correctly follow those instructions correctly both keys the central locking wasn't working
Somehow I messed it up and unprogrammed the good key!
I don't know how, but after about 2 dozen tries over the course of a couple of hours, it worked. :-)

Hello Chaturanga, if the lights flash 6 times you are doing it correctly. If the car then does not detect your key, maybe there is a problem with the key?
Yes, I tried. When I do it six times, lights doesn’t blink, but driver panel make a double tick sound. If the error is on the key, then I can get a replacement key and get it program.
I just noticed when I use the drivers manual lock, central locking system locks all keys. Once I use the switch in the drivers door(with window sign) it lock all doors except drivers, but unlocks all at once. So little confused if this error is on the locking switch or on the control unit of the remote. 🤔
Seems my original key doesn’t work. So I cannot program the new one.

Long shot but I'll ask anyways 🙃 got the same key for my 2006 350z. I've tried every video to program the key and nothing. I've also changed the battery in the fob and still nothing. I don't even get indicators or headlights to flash with any process. Car starts with the key but central locking doesn't. 🥲 Can you help or have any ideas? Thank you in advance 🙂

Hi Anthony, well you must be doing the procedure correctly. Do you know for sure that both keys have good batteries? I normally run the car for a minute before programming, just to charge the car battery
@@TheCarKeyMan yeah I replaced them before starting. I messed up the procedure I held unlock but got confused and thought it was hold lock for 3 seconds instead of press 3 times
Now I can't really begin the produce because previously when 1 key worked when I'd press lock to start it the security light would flash rapidly while I did the 6 times. It doesn't do that now (that's kinda how I knew it was working )
What if both not working
You can still programme them if both are not working

Car key man youve helped me before. Just bought primera 2007. Has 2 keys. Both will start the engine but neither will lock the car. Guy replaced the battery. But even the emergency manual lock on passenger door only locks that door. Am I in trouble?

Hi, the K12 Mira is a different car altogether. On the K11 and other older Nissan cars, the transponder function is separate to the remote central and this will work.
However the K12 car was one of the first to go over to a combined chip.
This means that when the key is programmed, the buttons will automatically work, there isn't a trick to programme in the buttons.

I have a red car with a key symbol flashing now and my car is temperamental with starting (this was never the case before the warning light ). I have changed the battery in the key but no change. Ok, so changing the key battery will not help you. Inside the key is a green circuit board that has a chip built into it.
This chip is detected by the car before it will start. This has nothing to do with the buttons on the key.
So either the chip is becoming unreliable, which happens, or there is a problem with the car

Hi, ok, so the key has a chip inside it. This is what starts the engine and it needs to be coded with a computer. The remote buttons are programmed using the video

Hi, Usually on a Nissan Note, the buttons will work automatically once the immobiliser chip is coded. Have you changed the key battery?

Ok, so with your vehicle, there is not a manual proceedure to code in teh remote. When the immobiiser chip is programmed, the buttons will just automatically work.

Hi Graham. For all UK vehicles the transponder chip has to be coded using diagnostics. The brake /accelerator method is only used in old Toyota and Lexus cars, sorry

Hello Victor, no sorry. For a brand new Nissan Note key, it needs to be coded with a computer.
Works perfect when you hold the unlock button and press lock button 3 times.
Not clear in the video . Only tried this way because he was holding the key with 2 hands.

Hi Michael, I would put new batteries in and take them to s shop to see if they are transmitting a signal. High street key cutting chains normally have a machine that will test the key to see if it's sending out a signal

Hi, it may be that your key has an chip that means the buttons programme when the immobiliser is programmed.

just done my 2005 terrano 2 and it took about 4 attempts to get it right but got there in the end,
also i only have 1 key and when i changed the battery in the key it wouldnt open. maybe try pushing the buttons faster before the indicators flash twice?

I have solve the issue...its so embarrassing....i had unplug the wires from the rearview mirror because i plan to tint the windshield however it seems like this wire is a ground for the antenna. I plug the mirror back in and the remote started working 🙂👍
