I've done the exact same thing recently. Went from 100+ plants to now just having 6 I truly love. I'm more about making the plants fit in to my space, rather than just having plants absolutely everywhere for the sake of collecting them.
yes! i think it's such a great refresh and the perfect way to spark passion back into plant care. i truly believe plant collections should evolve over time to reflect what a person needs
I don't think that I have it in me to whittle my collection down that much and kudos to you for being able to be decisive enough to make the cuts that needed to be made! My jaw literally dropped...I thought for sure the micans made the cut! And not a single hoya!? 😯
These plants look lovely and hold a special place in your heart,so good for you,who knows ,later things may change, you r so young, with lots of life adventures coming your way!👍I am 62 started my indoor plant collection when covid first showed up,and now I have 250,had to move to have more room for them😂,so don’t feel bad my girl👍 💚🌱☘️🌵💚
I'm so happy to see your little mammilaria 😂 also, thank you for sharing this video, I think a little plant downsizing may be due in the lives of many people, including myself. Can you do a little room tour? I always loved your aesthetic!
I'm recalling so many plants baaaaack when you were living with roommates.. 3 moves ago..? It's weird to miss another person's plants 😂😂😂 Anyway, thank you for sharing the ebbs and flows of your plant care and life *so* publicly.
Great job! I too have moved and I did take all my plants with me but unfortunately it was in the middle of a cold winter and they did not survive. I’m actually surprised you didn’t take more cuttings but you made great choices for the sacrifice. As you grow in your new place you will get new plants to enjoy and grow with. I suggest buying a small 4” plant as a housewarming gift to yourself and enjoy it!! Both can grow together in your new home! God bless you! 🙏🪴
loved the video! I moved across country and only brought a 1/3 of my plants with me. 1/3 went to friends and family and I was able to sell another 1/3. I think it's something that's really common for most plant people!
I'm in the process of doing the same...😊 During the summer months here, I grow them outside. Some are massive. I live in an 800 sqft home and have 200+ plants with about a 3rd being quiet large I have to pick and choose. "The 1st year they sleep...2nd year they creep...3rd year they leap"! And mine have really leaped 😅
I also literally just moved into my new apartment and and had to down size on my plants but at least now there is more room for growth. You were truly missed and I’m happy to see you’re back 💚
Next time you have that issue, just invite me over for coffee.. all your pets will love me, but plants dramatically give up the ghost just knowing I'm near.. not sure why..
I love that you truly care about plants that hold sentimental value even if they look weird. And also that you appreciate succulents and cacti! Few "foliage" plant youtubers do. I'm new to your channel but I'm really enjoying it so far.

The downsize sounded tough, but you made it thru! Hope your beast of a hoya krimson princess found a good home. I remember that one from before
my sister actually took that one! it was the first one she picked! :)
You actually inspired me to get a maranta. I have 2 now. A lemon lime and the red.
Tell us about your move……how did you end up in New York???
