I love your play through. Might I give you a helpful hint !!! EArly or when you are out exploring, drop into a lake,( with ox, food and hydration good), Look for green coral that are sponges. There is a blueish fish that will try to poison u. Use your knife. Equip it, and grab it when it floats. You can use these sponges, as future vessels to hold water. You get purified water from rain catcher and the purifier that goes into the water. You can take one of these into the caves and after you kill the cave worms you can set it up in the water in the cave.
The floor pieces in this game make safer wooden ruves, because when the winds get stronger, which they will. It makes less damage for the structure. Once you get to stone it is better.
Oops almost forgot. Bee's+knife = dead bees also in the tree stump they came from is their hive, look around the stump and you will see the opening and the honey comb, two or three arrows will destory it and you can collect the honey comb and some tame bees to use later in your own hive, there are many uses for the honey comb later.
Congrat's you are doing well for a first try at Icarus. It is good to see you stop to think through a problem instead of like many noobs in this game, just barrel on regardless which usually turns out not too well for them. Couple of pointers to help you along as you are doing so well. 1. Use R to change the ramp into stairs 2. To get the most fur for your bedroll go mainly after wolves, we call them XP bags lol also hit them once or twice in the head with your arrows and when close use your knife close up (make a second knife as the stone ones do not last long before you have to repair them. 3. Use only wood or coal (find nodes for it) for your fire but only wood will give you plenty of charcoal which you will need a lot of in later game. 4. Don't make the oxidiser, it's best to go on using the raw oxide until you can make the better level oxite bench and use a bladder, it lasts longer and fits into the slot. 5. Make a water skin as soon as you can along with a filter as you are close to the water make the one for the water not the rain one as rain is off and on. Keep going you are doing well and hope these small hints help you to enjoy your adventure...OH and DONT DIE :) get your bed down as soon as you can it will give you a spawn point or else you will be set down a long way from home and have to run there without your gear. You can put your Fireplace in you house . . . just don't run over it.
