I was hoping you wuold get the info about some of the attacking animals getting stuck. They all need to be killed before the next wave will spawn. You need all the waves for the prizes.
The poles can go in at an angle so you can just run up. 2-3 poles are usually enough. place a blocker so nothing else can run up - I've seen polar bears run up the poles before! Place a cross beam at the top so you can move around. Stay in stealth mode if you can so you don't fall off. The animals try to attack you from underneath so shouldn't touch the poles. Try it out on an easy target before you need it 'for real'.
If you want the cosiness bonus from the trophies, make sure they are near enough to your bed. Check your bonus, place the trophy, re-check the bonus. You'll find out soon enough which walls you can use to mount your trophies for the bonus.

Yup, put the gold geo's (the "spikey" ones) amongst gorse plots , the blue ones in the reed or lilies and copper in berry or coffee plots and watch them ZING at night-time. Trust me.

I think you tried to craft too many trophies at the same time - there are only 5 crafting slots available.
