I forget which Kalamazoo Air Show it was in the mid-80s that featured a group flyover of the Grumman "Cats" (Wildcat to Tomcat), with it being photographed in the air by a RF-8 on its final flight. That was quite a site. I can't remember of that was the year before the Blue Angels/MiG-29 appearance or if it was the same show. For that appearance, I still remember watching the F/A-18As of the Blue Angels and the two MiG-29s mock dogfighting the day before the show from my parent's deck in Portage.
