- Music video for Dog Gone by Frank Black And The Catholics from the album Frank Black And The Catholics
directed by Adam Buxton & Joe Cornish
featuring Nigel Buxton a.k.a. BaaadDad
Adam Buxton's audio book brought me here. The book is fantastic.
Me too! I've been a Frank Black fan for years and had no idea... funny old world.
Literally just paused the audiobook to have a quick look. And I also love Tapas in Morro.
Just paused the book to come have a nose. It’s a great video! What a good sport bad dad was.
Aye
Ditto. No idea how I never knew this existed being a massive fan of A&J and Frank Black.
Watched this after hearing Chapter 23 of Adam's Ramble Book and shed a few tears. Well done all, love to Adam and god bless Baaadad.
RIP BaaadDad :(
Just finishing Chapter 23 and thought I'd come and see this. I'm in floods. Love you, man.
Ramble Book Crew 👍👌✅
Just READING the comments... Am I the only one who READ the Ramble Book? Seems most people listened to it... I did it in 3 stints out in the sunshine on a comfy chair. I love you, goodbye!
God bless you Baad Dad
Same here - listening to the audio book, so I thought I'd check this out. The book is absolutely superb and made me break my 'No, I'm never listening to a fucking audiobook' rule for the first and last time. Or not, as I just bought the Woody Allen autobiography audio book as well.
I don't even know how Ramblebook would work in paper form. Has there ever been a book more perfectly crafted for the audiobook format?
What a good sport. Wouldn’t catch my dad anywhere near this. 👍
Listening to Adam’s book, I’ve had the feeling that Bad Dad was like my father and for some reason this video made me cry a bit
Love you Ad. RIP BaaadDad
I just finished reading Ramble Book-like many people here-came to youtube to see Nigel being awesome. I lost my father a few years back, too and the final chapter in the book reminded me of his last days a bit. Much love to you Adam and to anyone who has had to witnessed the death of a loved one.
Adam's book + this video = crying men.
How good is Nigel McBadBuxton at lyrical timing???? He's spot on sync.
I just had a little cry watching this
What a little gem! Very glad to rediscover it again via Buckle's book. The toy dinosaur joust made me fully lol.
Like others before, your book brought me here. Been a fan since I was 16 (now 36) and I've never seen this, so it was like I little hidden gem. Thank you Buckles. Excellent writing by the way, BaadDad would have been proud I'm sure x
That was amazing! Love Frank Black and love BaaadDad!
Stephen!
Just coming. Sorry I'm late.
@@COL321 at least you weren't premature 😏
Got the audiobook during lockdown here in Ireland. Brought back some great memories of things i'd long forgotten. Even if you are from different worlds the book is so relatable and familiar. All except the wham bam thank you mam approach to the ladies... I refuse to see myself as anything other than a less tanned Julio Iglesias throughout my teens, sorry Adam and R.I.P. to Mr Buxton who came to life in the book and will continue to do so to every future reader. A fitting tribute to the man. This book was made for lightening the mood in dark times... ironically the polar opposite of bad dad who would most likely tell us all we are buggered!
I've always admired Baad Dad for his ability to interact with the twats of the world while still maintaining an even temper and non-judgemental air.
Adam.. Your book has helped me in so many ways. There are so many should have could have's to live with but we're all just doing the best we can.. Your Dad made that song his own with that video.. perfect
My first comment on UA-cam or Suttin..
I love Baad Dad.
After re-listening to Ramblebook again, the shot of him walking away over Waterloo bridge really hits.
sos thats not waterloo bridge
The news is gonna break that maybe I shouldn't be living heeeeeeeeeeeere.
See what I did there?
I cleverly and wittily combined the lyrics to the song above with a piece of bad movie dialogue from a film hardly anyone has seen that Adam and Joe have made infamous on a British radio station. I am the king now. Bye.
I love you for making this Adam!
simply amazing! Great job!!
Just came here to watch this after listening to your Audiobook Buxton - this was so amazing, it's lovely that you have so many pieces of footage of your dad to remember him by xx
Nice tribute... love it.
He wasn't such a bad dad after all. RIP Nigel Buxton.
Both a fabulous video AND a lovely blast from the past, aka my late teenage years growing up in South East London. Happy times all round. Love you Adam!
i love this. like many im listening to the audiobook and i love that too. i also love the podcast. i've never seen bad dad before but i have seen and love pixies/black. so it only seems appropriate now to say: I LOVE YOU BYEEEEE!
Much love for Bad Dad
Here for BaaadDad.
I just finished your wonderful book, had to check this video out. Love it.
awesomeeeee!!!!
Love you Dr Buckles!
Baaaaaddad is our leader.
Great video, nice memories. :)
this is perfection
another brought here by the book comment, also of note was that 1998 was my favourite year on record so far in my life, which was nice.
Just coming
Nice work, Nigel.
I just managed to get a region free DVD player and imported the Adam and Joe show DVD from the UK and was pretty amazed to see this as I'm a huge Frank fan and have never seen this. I won't be able to hear the song ever again without picturing your dad, not a bad thing though. By the way, post more stuff Dr Buckles, I'm missing my weekly dose of the pair of you and need a fix. Although if it is too much trouble and you're too busy then MAYBE YOU SHOULDN'T BE POSTING HEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRREEEEEEEE!
Zak's Dad
I AM HERE (for Nigel)
Aww Bad Dad❤
Ramble book reminded me of this video. Love the song too. 98 was the year of the Walkman video. Elliot Smith’s documentary Strange Parallels by Steve Hanft. He may have taken some direction from this video. Who knows?
@Nick Campbell I found my self doing the very same. Its a beautiful song and the video all the more poignant having heard Adam tell us more about his dad and their relationship in the podcast, and Ramble book. Great stuff Adam and Joe!
Came here after reading Ramble Book ... this is good.
Another one on the audio-book party bus here *beep beep*. Surprised I've never seen this!
Ha, love this song, never seen A&J's promo before - tsk. ;)
Brought here by Adam’s excellent Audible book...
V 10/A 10.........................Baaad.
RIP Nigel
I am here.
i really like the actor they got to play Buckles dad in this - he looks just like him - has he been in anything else?
Brought here by the book.
RIP Baaddad
1:02 woooo
Stephen!
Buckles was this shot on a VX1000?
Baadad's amazing at lip synching.
Charles is my #1 musical hero, inspiration and probably influence.
As for the Buxtons, well...expressing love for people you've never met...some take a dim view of that. How can you love someone purely on the basis of, for example, their creative output? I see where these people are coming from, I suppose. You can't love someone you don't know.
Even if there's some truth to that, I'm more of a mind to let expressions/feelings of fondness, respect, admiration and love go unchecked by those who seek to stifle.
It's late. I'm diarising on UA-cam. Sorry.
@chunk123123 But from what period?
I am so happy Daandad isn't dead yet.
Well this comment hasn't aged well.
@@aliquidcowI'll update it. I am so sad Baadad is dead now.
what does thid guy have to do with it?
hmmmmm funbags
